Chapter 470: Locator spell

"My death?" Elliana looked at Leila amused before shaking her head and chuckling a little.

"Tell me something I don’t know. I know there are ample witches behind my powers now, or should I say, my blood and soul? I mean, even my own mom is behind me, so what’s the surprising factor here?" Elliana asked, standing from her place as she walked to the balcony, wanting to look at the moon again.

It was her favorite pastime since childhood. Maybe because she was able to sympathize with it? So lonely and still shining bright. That’s what she wanted to do too.

She didn’t want others to put down her shine, no matter how lonely it got.

Leila looked at the hunched back of the girl and sighed. She knew what she was doing was probably not right. If her boss heard of it, she would snatch away all the powers she gave her, and that’s the last thing she wanted to happen, but...

"I know that you love Sebastian a lot. I have seen it. And the thought of something happening to him because of you will break you. That’s why I was asking you to step away from him.

That’s the plan. Break you, hurt you, until you have no fight left inside you. And for that to happen, they will target the people who are closest to you," Leila said, catching Elliana’s attention with the last sentence.

She turned around and looked into the witch’s eyes.

"Why break me when they can directly kidnap me and use my powers? I mean killing me is way easier since I don’t even know half of the stuff about my powers or which spells. Why hurt people close to me?" She asked.

"Because your powers aren’t something that can be taken easily. They are woven with your soul and taking away your life won’t be helpful either. So they would hurt you to the point you break and ask them for mercy and give your powers to them yourself," Leila explained.

Elliana bobbed her head up and down before looking back at the moon.

"Makes sense. Then again, why did you come to inform me of all this? Your boss already has some sympathy for me and wanted to warn me?" Elliana asked.

Her question caught Leila off-guard, but she composed herself again.

"Because you removed the flame of hell from me when you could’ve killed me in a moment for what I did to you. I just want to repay the kindness with this little hint," Leila said and Elliana hummed.

"Thanks for your suggestion, but I don’t think I am going to take it. You can take your leave," Elliana said and Leila sighed.

"Anyway, stay clear of any witches apart from that hybrid prince. Everyone around you for so long worked under the witch queen who made this ultimate plan," Leila whispered before looking at her hand that had a glowing cross and now.

"You are ready to unlock your next lock. When you want to do it, place your band on that mark that glows and channel your energy into the invisible lock. Once it appears on your subconsciousness, touch the tip of your ring finger with your thumb and press it in the middle of the lock. I won’t force this unlocking on you anymore. Your body will yearn it itself," Leila said before leaving and Elliana hummed.

She looked at the glowing mark on her hand, her fingers itching to try what Leila mentioned.

"What are your orders, boss?" Circe asked when they saw Elliana deep in thought and she hummed.

"Can you do something for me without letting Nathaniel know?" She asked.

Circe paused.

’Are you planning on leaving the kingdom already? Without telling anyone about it?’ Circe asked, and Elliana scoffed.

’You are putting a lot of trust in me, Circe. Anyway, I want you to try to find this voice. I am an amateur at it, but Nathaniel told me you are a powerful combination of two most powerful dark witches. So you should be able to find it without a problem. Can you do this for me? This voice I heard before Yaretzi appeared, felt familiar, like I had a connection to it.

The last time I heard this voice, Nathaniel had said that my father was trying to reach out to me. Can you help me locate this voice?’ Elliana asked and Circe hummed.

’It’s risky, princess,’ her powers said.

Elliana leaned back on the railing with her eyes closed.

Was anything near her not risky?

’For that to happen, you will have to perform a locator spell ritual. Your father is captured by someone far more powerful than the Witch Queen, probably in the forbidden caves where no magic is allowed, or there is no way Azura wouldn’t have been able to find him.

Since he is calling you, he probably felt your presence just like you felt his, and he is trying to hold onto that presence,’ Circe explained things to Elliana slowly so that the little girl could understand what she was asking her to do.

’It will need your blood too. This will be your first spell as a dark witch where you will use your blood, and it will mark your onset journey as a dark witch. Are you ready for it?’ Circe asked.

Elliana’s hands clenched in helplessness.

She was tempted to do it. But now that Circe mentioned things like these, she wasn’t sure anymore.

There was no way she was going to act like the same old naive person who used to do things her way even after knowing it would cause her problems.

What if things turn completely opposite?

Elliana contemplated calling Nathaniel and telling him what she wanted to do. But given how that woman who calls herself her mother was also roaming around him these days, she wasn’t sure if it was a good idea.

Meanwhile, in the royal Vampire kingdom, Sebastian sat in front of his brothers, waiting for his grandfather to arrive.

"Sebastian, what brings you here?" Abramo asked as he descended the stairs with Aubrey.

Sebastian stood from his place and looked at his grandfather before bowing at his grandmother.

"Grandma, grandfather," he paid his respect to both of them.

A frown appeared on Abramo’s face when Sebastian called him grandfather and not grandpa. However, knowing all too well that he lost the right to it a long time ago, he shook his head and walked to the couch where everyone was gathering one by one.

"Son Sebastian, you came alone? It’s been a long time since we met Princess," Freya walked to the couch.

"Her exams ended today so I told her to rest. You will get to see her tomorrow evening," Sebastian answered.

"It must be hectic to have a child as your wife, no? University, exams, it sounds so weird," Victoria smirked.

Sebastian looked at her from the corner of his eyes, not saying anything nonetheless. He didn’t want to spoil this mood.

"I am here to present my report of the first task that our grandfather had asked us to do. Since the challenge was put in front of everyone, it was rightful to present my report in the same way," Sebastian nodded at Lucas who brought out the file from his bag and gave it to Sebastian.

Sebastian placed the file on the table, shocking everyone.

"You got all the rogue camps covered already? How did you get the area covered near the Calliper regions and West Moon City?" Prince Stephano asked as he picked the file from the table.

He looked at all the maps, his pupils dilating with each passing second.

Not only did the map contain all the marks, but there were details as small as approx. Number of the rogues in that camp with the kind and level of ammunition with them.

To say he was impressed would be an understatement.

Though he had already withdrawn from the competition mentally, he was still trying his best to give Sebastian a fair competition, but this...

"Does that matter? The report of the first task is in front of you," Sebastian said, his gaze shifting to everyone, noticing how Prince Vincenzo wasn’t there.

"Is that so?" Abramo took the file from Stephano’s hand and nodded.

"Prince Sebastian is obviously the winner of this first phase," Abramo declared in front of everyone.

"But, Grandpa, Sebastian was already looking into it even before the task was decided. Didn’t he have an upper hand?" Victoria objected.

"Prince Stephano has the most votes in the name of being working directly under the king, son Sebastian didn’t mention it, did he?" Freya was the one to take Sebastian’s side, and the prince nodded gratefully before standing from his place.

"I will take my leave now," He nodded at everyone.

"Son, it’s almost dinner time. Why don’t you have dinner with us? You can leave after that," Freya said and Noah supported the idea.

"I appreciate your invitation, second mother Freya, but I need to ensure that the child at my home isn’t being mischievous and eating something before sleeping. Kids can be really handful," Sebastian smirked inside his mask, his gaze shifting to Victoria who called his wife a child earlier.

"Aren’t you being a bit too much? She is an adult," Prince Santo scoffed.

Sebastian shrugged.

"No wife, no opinion. You don’t have a partner, so how can you say if I am being too much or not? Didn’t she have all of you walking on the eggshells and caring for her when she arrived here? Besides, it’s my responsibility to keep her innocence and protect her at all costs at the same time," Sebastian buttoned his coat before looking at his brother.

"Meet you tomorrow evening," Sebastian nodded at him and left the hall, making Abramo sigh.
