Chapter 175: Save from humiliation or die?

’The heck!’ Dexter groaned as he felt his head becoming heavier.

Where was he? What the hell was happening? Why was his head paining so badly? Dexter groaned and Drake, who was busy using his phone, looked at him.

"So you are finally awake?"

Dexter heard Drake’s voice as soon as he opened his eyes, and he winced in pain, his whole body feeling like it was run down by a truck and his bones were broken before putting back in place.

What was happening to him? Dexter looked around, finding it a bit hard to remember what happened.

"Where am I?" He asked his head a mess.

"For someone who doesn’t sleep easily, you surely have been sleeping for quite some time," Drake walked to him before sitting on the edge of the bed.

"What were you doing in Elliana’s room? Her bodyguard literally carried you all the way to your room," Drake’s words made Dexter raise his brows.

Of course. He was in Elliana’s room. Her bodyguards weren’t there with her, and he wanted to ensure she was alright.

It was that time when he heard a knock on the door, and he was thinking of opening the door and telling the person to not make a noise because Elliana was resting when he felt someone place a hand on his head.

It was as if someone hypnotized him because his head immediately became dizzy. The last thing he remembered was the door opening but he couldn’t see who it was.

Damn it!

"Elliana, is she alright?" Dexter looked at Drake, and then without waiting for his reply, he was about to rush out of the room when Drake held his hand.

"Where are you going? You have a concussion. Don’t you remember? We are back on the ship. It’s been 10 hours since you fell asleep. We are going back home," Drake said, shocking Dexter even more.

Sleeping for 10 hours? How is this possible?

"In fact, you don’t even know half of what happened after you went to your mysterious deep slumber. Things turned too peachy, bro. The weather was weird and the captain denied to sail. It was only after the sea waves calmed down a little, we are set to sail again," Drake said, detailing all the information.

"Is she alright now?" Dexter ran his hand through his hair before standing from his place, wanting to see her already.

"Just get on the bed, dude. We can’t have another session of Dexter the Sleepyhead. Do you even know how hard it was for us to carry you here? One part of us wanted to leave you on those islands," Drake said, and Dexter narrowed his eyes before wearing his shirt.

"I am going to meet her. I don’t care if I get a concussion or contusion," Dexter walked out, and Drake followed him.

Thud. The sound echoed before the lights went out.

"Woah. What the hell is going on? It’s too dark," Dexter held Drake’s hand as they walked towards the patio so that they could see with the help of moonlight.

However, it was too cloudy, and it was practically impossible to see what was happening.

"There they are. Let’s not move too much in case we bump into someone," Drake said, but Dexter’s gaze was fixated on Elliana, who was looking around with anxious panicking eyes. It must’ve been hard for her since she was a mere human.

She was panicking because there was no one for her to trust there. He must go there and help her. He thought with a sigh.

He stepped forward and was about to tell Drake he was leaving to go to Elliana when he noticed a flicker of shadow behind Elliana, and he narrowed his eyes.

What was that? Dexter thought before his eyes widened when he realized what it was.

Everything happened too quickly. No one was able to decipher what was happening around them.

One moment they were laughing about a joke Daniel made about Elliana being a trouble magnet, and the other moment, a weird flame arose from God knows where lighting Elliana’s dress on fire.

She panicked.

She knew she felt someone walking behind her and placing something. She turned around to see what it was, but a small barely noticeable clicking sound came, and the next thing she knew, the bottom of her dress was burning her, making her widen her eyes.

"Aaaaa! Elliana! Watch out!" She heard Samantha’s shout, and everyone looked at her.

She wanted to save herself too. Heat crept down her neck. If she wants to save herself, she will have to take off her dress and throw it away in front of everyone. Tears welled in Elliana’s eyes.

Since she was wearing a dress made of Linen material, it quickly caught fire and reached her thighs. She’ll have to make the decision soon or she will be rendered naked in nothing but her panties and tube bra in front of everyone.

Elliana looked around in panic and did the only thing she could think of to save herself and her dignity, she jumped into the ocean.

The loud sound of water splashing echoed and Samantha who saw Elliana jumping, widened her eyes in shock.

Grrrr... It was like an endless abyss. The water washed away her tears, and she looked at the water that illuminated just for her, making her sob. Her throat felt constricted as she let herself go deeper and deeper into the water.

She didn’t struggle, just let the water engulf her and save her from the humiliation that she suffered.

The lights came back, and the entire ship was illuminated once again.

"Elliana!"

"Elliana!"

Everyone panicked, and they realized what had happened.

"Get out of the way!" Dexter shouted as he jumped into the ocean to save Elliana, making everyone look at him in horror.

Alcinder rushed to the railing and looked down into the water with wide eyes.

"Quickly put the lifeboat down. Throw ropes for them to be able to climb up! How the hell did this happen?!" Alcinder started giving orders one by one, and Samantha came out of her shocked state before doing what Alcinder said.

No one surfaced. For quite a few minutes, neither Elliana nor Dexter surfaced, and everyone looked at the ocean, anticipating what would happen with fast-beating hearts.

At the same time, the girl who had planned all this stood at some distance and looked at the scene with a hint of mockery in her eyes.

"I can’t believe you did something like this," Boston walked to her, and the girl hummed.

"I know, right? Gabrielle Huston would’ve never been able to do something like this because she is too uptight and cares about her family’s reputation, but I? Who will think I did it?" The girl chuckled, her eyes dark and full of evilness.

"I would’ve preferred if she had just stood there and panicked, letting everyone see her pathetic body, but she had to jump into the ocean. Now we can only hope that she drowns and never gets close to Daniel ever again," she smirked as everyone panicked for a mere human.
