Regan exhaled sharply as a tear slid down his eyes.

He pulled Evelyn immediately and captured her lips with his own.

He kissed her as if it was the last day when he was breathing. He kissed her like there was no tomorrow.

When he stopped, Evelyn was breathing heavily.

He waited for her to compose herself and when she did, he was left surprised by her other actions.

Evelyn held his hand and placed it on the thread of her dress which was on the chest.

"Evelyn..."

Regan whispered as he looked into her eyes.

"Your Highness, can we do it?"

Evelyn asked softly.

She didn’t feel nervous anymore.

She felt so comfortable with him because she knew that he would never look down on her. He understood her.

But Regan looked concerned.

He cupped her face as he looked into her eyes somberly.

"Are you doing it because I was angry at you? Then you don’t need to. I am no longer angry."

However, Evelyn shook her head.

She held his hands and looked down shyly as she said

"I love Your Highness."

Regan was caught off guard by the sudden confession. The next moment, his eyes were filled with joy but he asked her again

"What did you say?"

Evelyn looked into his eyes this time.

She smiled when she saw the happiness in his eyes. If she knew that it would make him so happy then she would have confessed long ago.

"Your Highness, I love you so much."

They had another kiss after Evelyn’s confession. It was gentle and filled with love. When they parted, Regan stroked her hair and asked her calmly

"Are you sure? We can wait if you are not comfortable yet."

However, Evelyn nodded her head firmly and said

"I am sure."

Regan kissed her forehead and whispered

"Thank you for trusting me, Evelyn."

After that, his hand went to open the thread of her dress. The dress slid down from Evelyn’s shoulders slowly revealing the undergarments.

Evelyn suddenly felt slightly conscious and lowered her eyes.

She had many scars on her body. Some were from burns, some were from wounds she received from beatings.

However, when Regan kissed those scars as if they were some precious symbols, she felt her fallen confidence growing back.

"My Evelyn is so strong."

Regan whispered as he leaned down to kiss her lips again. He could never get tired of this.

Evelyn closed her eyes which were filled with tears as she kissed him back.

Perhaps this was the only man in this world who adored her for whatever she went through. Any other man might despise her for she had been married twice. Her third marriage was with Regan.

Regardless of what the circumstances had been, she had been a widow as well.

But this man, he didn’t mind anything.

Just like her, he looked at the beauty of person’s heart and she cherished the moments when she met him.

"Your Highness..."

Evelyn whispered when she felt his nose against the skin of her neck. His warm breaths made her body tremble as well as feel excited.

"Say my name."

Regan said in his deep husky voice.

Evelyn shook her head as she clutched his hair tightly when he suddenly bit on her skin and then soothed it gently by kissing the same spot.

"Nnggg..."

She moaned at his actions which were becoming too pleasurable to handle for her.

"Evelyn...my name."

Regan whispered seductively against her earlobe.

"No..."

Evelyn whispered to herself.

She was not habitual calling his name. It felt strange to do that somehow.

Regan leaned away suddenly. There was a confident smile on his lips as he looked at her and promised.

"I will make you say it tonight."

Evelyn’s eyes widened with shock wondering what he will do for that.

But she soon got her answers.

That night, she could only remember one thing and that was her prince’s name.

"Regan..."

Evelyn gasped as she felt him moving again.

Regan smiled against his lips and kissed her deeply as he moved gently.

An hour later, he asked Isla to bring some warm water and a clean cloth. As he cleaned Evelyn who had already fallen asleep, he felt distressed on seeing the blood.

Although he knew that it was inevitable, the fact that it was because of him made him feel guilty.

He cleaned her carefully and then himself as well.

After that, he lay down on the bed by her side.

He held her closer to himself...in his arms if that was even possible. When he closed his eyes to sleep, there was a small smile on his lips which were against Evelyn’s forehead.

He wanted more of this woman.

Everything.

Her heart, her body, and her soul.

In return, he was ready to give his everything to her.

The next morning when Rex saw Evelyn’s red cheeks and Regan holding her closer to himself as if she was some sort of fragile and precious treasure, he knew that everything was alright between the two.

In fact, it seemed that things were more than alright.

"Can I expect to see my nephew soon?"

He teased suddenly and when Evelyn’s cheeks went redder, he was sure that he was correct.

Rex grinned when Regan glared at him signing him not to tease his shy wife.

Rex complied.

He was very happy for Regan.

At the same time, he desired to have the woman by his side about whom he had been thinking the whole night.

Alexandria Rosette.

Rex had got some information about her from his men. He did so because he wanted to know more about her, her likes and dislikes so that when he would go to see her, he would be able to create a good impression.

From what he gathered, Alexandria had only her father. Her mother died when she was five. After that, it was her father who raised her on his own without marrying for the second time.

It was very unusual for a man not to marry again in such circumstances in noble families.

Usually, anyone would marry again if he didn’t have a son but Alexandria’s father, Wren didn’t do so.

But if he had done so, there would have been no guarantee that Alexandria would be loved by his stepmother.

It showed how much Wren Rosette loved his daughter.

As a father, he had also tried to arrange his daughter with an elegant refined men of the city as soon as reached the age of marriage.

However, no man agreed to proceed ahead after one meeting.

Rex could easily understand the reason behind this.

He was the current person in Wren’s Rosette list of potential son-in-law which had been full of failures until now.

But Rex intended to change this soon.

He wanted to marry Wren’s daughter Alexandria and made her his queen.

Rex smiled as he exited the Palace and started his horse towards the Rosette Mansion. He had taken a week of leave from Royal Palace and his father had eagerly granted him the same when he had told him his purpose.

To woo his soon-to-be wife.

As much as he was aware that it was a difficult task, Rex was confident of his success.

Because what Alexandria wanted, he could give it to her readily.
