Chapter 201: Regan Confesses His Feelings

Evelyn didn’t know what she should say but she could sense the fear in Regan’s voice. Her eyes unconsciously got teary and she put his hand on her back.

She patted his back gently as she whispered

"I will be careful in the future."

Though she didn’t remember anything and didn’t know what happened to her, she will be careful because she didn’t like to see the prince afraid.

The moment was disrupted by the distinct yet familiar sound of a growl.

Evelyn’s eyes widened slightly as she whispered

"Isn’t it Lavo?"

Regan leaned away slightly with his hands still around her waist as he said

"He had not left since the moment he brought you here. Since last night, he is standing on the roof."

Evelyn’s heart was soft when she heard this. She had never received such care and love. She felt overwhelmed and didn’t know how she should respond to it.

A moment later, she finally asked in almost a whisper

"Can I go and see him?"

Regan actually wanted to refuse. He wanted her to rest. But seeing her eyes, he sighed and couldn’t bear to say ’no’.

Rex was right perhaps. He was completely whipped.

He sighed again as he nodded his head.

"Come"

Evelyn was confused as she looked at Regan who was leaning down and had his arms around her. The next moment, her eyes widened when she was suddenly picked up by him in his arms.

"Your Highness!"

Evelyn exclaimed loudly.

However, Regan calmly walked to the door of the room. After stepping out of the room and while climbing the stairs, he could feel Evelyn’s eyes on him.

He was sure that there must be a hesitant expression on her face. So he said calmly

"Don’t expect me to let you walk. What if you felt dizzy suddenly and fell down from the stairs!"

Evelyn sighed. She wanted to tell him that now she was alright. However, somewhere she knew that he wouldn’t believe her.

She just hoped that no one would see them like this.

However, circumstances didn’t seem to be in Evelyn’s favor because they soon came across Rex who was coming down from the roof.

Seeing Regan and Evelyn, he first raised his eyebrows in surprise. Evelyn looked away immediately. Her cheeks were burning hot.

Since she was not looking at Rex, she didn’t notice how Rex looked at Regan with a gaze that was filled with pride.

His brother was such a great student.

Rex thought inside his heart. Looking at Evelyn’s lowered head, Rex was wise enough not to tease her. Evelyn was not that courageous yet. Rex was aware of this very well.

She might distance herself from his brother if he crossed the limits.

He would never wish to make things difficult for his brother.

While passing by them, he said to Regan

"Go and talk to him. I tried to convince him a lot but he is not ready to leave."

Rex sighed as he said these words and shook his head. He had gone to the roof to convince Lavo to leave.

Lavo’s home was the forest. The giant creature could have an owner but the place where he belonged to was the forest where he could hunt on his will.

"He will leave once he sees Evelyn."

Regan said calmly and Rex nodded his head with a smile understanding very well that what Regan was saying was the truth.

After that, he left from there.

Regan finally reached the roof with Evelyn in his arms.

The giant creature was already looking toward them as if he knew that they were coming to him. When they reached him, Evelyn asked Regan to let her stand on her feet.

Regan did so though a little reluctantly.

Evelyn then walked to Lavo and whispered

"I am alright now. You don’t need to worry."

She didn’t know if Lavo understood what she said or not. But he spread his wings and embraced her in his arms gently as he mewled docilely.

Evelyn could feel the warmth surrounding her body as well as her heart.

When she stepped away, he took back his wings and looked down at her while Evelyn had to raise her head to look into his eyes.

When he raised his feet, Evelyn laughed lightly and scratched his paw.

"I wonder if you like me because of this only."

"No!"

Evelyn looked at Regan in surprise when she heard him.

She was at first confused but when she noticed the intensity in Regan’s eyes, she suddenly felt breathless.

Regan stepped closer to her. Raising his hand to caress her cheek, he looked at her with doting eyes.

A few moments ago, when he said that he was scared, Regan was saying the truth.

He was indeed scared.

Especially after knowing that she doesn’t remember anything. He felt rage filling up his heart whenever he wondered what Arthur might have done to her in those few moments which had been erased from her memory completely.

The things Evelyn told him about Arthur didn’t help him in any manner. When he could try to touch an eight-year-old girl, then would Arthur have stopped himself now?

The only comfort to Regan was that it was only for a short period of time that Evelyn was missing. If he really did something, then perhaps it was good that Evelyn didn’t remember anything.

But Regan also wondered to what extent Arthur’s skill was powerful.

Could he make Evelyn forget him as well?

Even the thought itself scared Regan. What if Evelyn forgot him completely?

Perhaps it was this thing that made him want to confess everything to her today. He wanted her to know his feelings for her.

"Do you want to know why Lavo likes you so much?"

Evelyn didn’t say anything. She couldn’t even open her mouth even if she wanted to say anything.

But Regan didn’t wait for her to speak as he said

"He likes you because I like you, Evelyn."
