The whole week passed for Evelyn like the wind.

The whole day until the evening she would stay busy with Lady Irwin and Lady Bennett, who would teach her different kinds of things every day.

Evelyn was not realizing but even the few days long training had started to transform her greatly.

The girl who was a slave before, who didn’t have any self-esteem and confidence in herself could not be seen any longer.

Now she ordered servants whenever there was anything needed in the Palace.

With Regan’s help, she managed everything in the Palace like its true mistress. She herself couldn’t see this change but the people around her could this very well.

Rex and Regan were very happy to see the transformed Evelyn.

Lady Irwin and Lady Bennett were relieved as they felt that they were finally doing their jobs perfectly.

On the other hand, the one person in the whole Palace could feel her heart filling up with suffocation with every passing day.

Laurel’s hatred towards Evelyn kept increasing as she saw her closeness towards the prince.

Except for the first day, Lady Irwin never entered the dining room and had her three meals with Lady Bennett in her room only.

However, Laurel, even though wouldn’t be invited would enter the dining room at the time of meals and would try to include herself in the conversation with the two princes.

Rex did give her some respect by including her in the conversations or perhaps his purpose was completely different but whatever it was ...he didn’t behave with her like Regan who didn’t even look at her and stayed silent when she tried to ask him anything.

Evelyn actually felt sympathy for Laurel sometimes. At the same time, she didn’t understand why Laurel was bent on insulting herself when she could clearly see that the prince was not interested in talking to her.

However, as days passed, she understood why Laurel was so interested in talking to the prince.

Actually, she was interested in the prince himself.

Of course, her newfound realization had some contribution from Rex.

Now Evelyn could see why Laurel would stand in every way the prince was walking. Why she would suddenly collide with the prince and why she would walk inside the dining room uninvited?

It was simply because she wanted to be everywhere the prince was present.

The realization made Evelyn very uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that she wanted to throw Laurel out of the Palace...and she was feeling the same at this moment.

"Apologies, Your Highness. I don’t know why I keep colliding with you. Perhaps this is the fate..."

Laurel’s head was lowered but there was a smile on her lips and the red blush could be seen on her face very clearly.

Her words were very indicative and Evelyn understood very well what she was trying to indicate.

With clenched fists and lips pressed in a thin line, Evelyn stared at Laurel wondering how such a shameless person could exist.

Even before she could register what she was going to say, she opened her mouth and said

"Perhaps Lady Laurel should get her eyes checked. What if Lady Laurel fell down on her face and got injured...the blame would naturally fall on our shoulders since you are our guest."

Laurel’s face went blank for a moment and the blush on her cheeks disappeared eventually. She raised her head and almost glared at Evelyn for what she just dared to say.

However, remembering that Regan was still standing in front of her, she could only smile forcefully and say softly

"I thank Your Highness for your worries."

Evelyn didn’t say anything in reply. A frown stayed on her forehead as she said to no one in particular.

"I need to go and check the dress for the banquet."

Finishing her words, she left from there without looking back.

Laurel rolled her eyes with her head lowered and had an innocent expression on her face when she raised her head again to look at Regan.

"Your Highness, would you like to have tea with me in the garden?"

Laurel said softly.

She had been noticing that since yesterday, even Regan was starting to respond to her advances. He even replied to her during breakfast as well as yesterday’s dinner.

It seems that the prince had finally started to like her. Thinking this, Laurel chose to take the next initiative.

However, the smile on her lips stiffened when she saw Regan’s cold eyes and heard only one word from his mouth.

"Scram!"

Laurel was shocked and confused by the sudden change in the prince’s behavior. She wanted to ask what happened. However, the coldness in Regan’s eyes simply made her legs weak and tremble uncontrollably.

Without thinking anything, she just ran away from there.

On the other hand, Regan looked in the direction where Evelyn just left. There was a deep smile on his lips and his fists were clenched in excitement.

He was sure that just now Evelyn was jealous.

He had never seen her talking so rudely with anyone else.

If she was jealous...did it not mean that she also has feelings for him?

So Rex’s method actually worked.

However, Regan still didn’t understand many things. Like what the pillow wall on their bed during the night was still doing in between them.

It made him want to throw every pillow out of this Palace.

And If she likes him then why does she step away when he tries to get closer to her?

Regan was interrupted amidst his thoughts by someone who patted his shoulder.

It was none other than Rex.

As soon as Regan saw him, he couldn’t help but share with him

"Just now...Evelyn asked that Loriel to get her eyes checked because she keeps colliding with me."

Rex’s eyebrows jumped in surprise when he heard these words. He had not expected that the results would be so fast.

Looking at Regan, he laughed when he saw the excitement lurking in his eyes and said

"Her name is Laurel, Regan."

"That’s not something you should focus on."

Regan said displeased with Rex’s words.

Rex chuckled again. Putting his hand around Regan’s shoulder, he guided her towards the same room where Evelyn went to and said

"I know where exactly I need to focus my attention. Let’s go now."
