Chapter 3213: Mistaken Delegate

They headed south towards the dark elf settlement as they surged through the air, basking under the gentle warmth of the evening Sun and the cool breeze that flooded the skies of the Panama Continent.

"I can’t wait to meet the elves!" Amare exclaimed with excitement. "I only got to meet the true world outsiders who were trying to consume or take over our continent."

"You might get along with them especially well," Rui remarked thoughtfully. "They are very pacifist and nature-loving."

Though his comment probably applied more to the old Amare than the new one.

He didn’t say that out loud, of course.

They zoomed through the skies at great speeds, allowing them to reach the Kandrian Empire in the blink of an eye. They soared past the esoterified extensions of the Beast Domain that extended well into former human territory, dominating a sizable portion of the continent.

A vast expanse of exotic colors mixed with the green of flora spread as far as the eye could see, as the fresh air of nature spread throughout the environment around them. It was a euphoric sense of calm and quiet, one that instilled great peace and harmony within one’s body.

"I hope human civilization won’t conquer the Beast Domain like it did in the past," Amare murmured. "One of the things I missed from my life as the Progenitor was the omnipresent nature that once covered much of the continent. It was truly wonderful and I’m happy that it has returned, even if it unfortunately came at the cost of billions of human beings."

"Don’t worry, it’s not going anywhere," Rui reassured her. "Not only is the leadership of human civilization too traumatized by the Beast Incursion, but it has also enabled us to maintain a friendly relationship with the dark elves. This is extremely needed for us. The utility of the Beast Domain is also high since we now control the beasts and monsters on this continent."

"That’s good to hear," Amare smiled at him with delight. "It makes a nice place to visit."

"We will be building bridges across the Beast Domain, however," Rui remarked. "We need to be able to transport Martial Artists across the continent as fast as possible in the event of a conflict."

She pondered thoughtfully. "I thought the conflict was moving to outer space."

"The target is still our continent," Rui replied. "They will still launch attacks from outer space into our continent and try to invade through space in order to bypass the Great Nam Ocean. They will also simultaneously use high air support to do so. Together, they can still viably threaten us."

His eyes sharpened as his gaze peered deep in the direction they were headed.

"That is why we need allies in the form of dark elves and others."

She nodded seriously before a playful smile appeared on her face.

"Race you to the south."

WHOOSH!

Rui’s eyes lit up with mirth as he accelerated, trying to keep up with her.

She was remarkably fast, being able to make most of each step he took while he lagged behind, largely because of his unwillingness to use his Metabody System for something this trivial. He smiled as she laughed jubilantly, outpacing him to the very end.

They flew to the south of the continent for an hour at remarkably high speeds, shifting the entire world around them as the very fabric of space and time warped.

And soon enough, they arrived.

WHOOSH

A great gust of wind blew past them as they halted their descent, created by their extreme travel. fr\(e)ew(e)b.(n)o (v)(e)l.com

The two of them beheld the little settlement they had come up on.

It was more developed than it had been last time.

The wooden houses and infrastructure were created from living trees that were induced to grow in the shapes that the dark elves desired them to. It made it so that they literally lived in trees, even if the imagery that it evoked was not equivalent to what reality was like.

The busy dark elves gazed as they spotted Rui and Amare in the evening sky, pausing their work as they gazed at them with curious expressions.

"Wow...!" Amare’s amber eyes lit up with fascination as they descended from the skies slowly. "They truly do have long ears! But it’s so pretty!"

The dark elves gathered around the two of them as they finally reached the ground. Their clothes and attire varied despite each being made from live organic fibers and leaves. Many had even fashioned clothes from the esoteric plants native to the Panama Continent.

It appeared that they truly took a liking to the exotic flora of the Lost Continent.

What caught his attention, however, was the fact that all the dark elves had their attention fixed on Amare, rather than him. They studied her with curiosity and respect, as they maintained a respectful distance from the two of them.

"riemtudie, ieamadadau liemiehsaaeur uf wodsar nybaymaymsaaeur," one older dark elf greeted her in their native elvish tongue as she stepped forward. "rie m’afr fryorylol su loyricusa eaara gala naadiemsarl."

Amare gazed at the dark elf with a confused expression. "I forgot that we don’t speak the same language."

"She’s welcoming you and eager to show you their homeland," Rui huffed with a hint of discontent in his voice. "As for the language barrier, you don’t need to worry about that."

The dark elf plucked out a little fruit from her pouch, offering it to Amare.

"Oh wow, a souvenir from their homeland?" She accepted the fruit, quickly eating it. "How delicious!"

She froze as a surge of information entered her mind. "This..."

"Once again," the dark elf spoke her elvish tongue once more. "I welcome you to our settlement. I am Senior Sister Veruschia, and I will be escorting you and your companion to our settlement back home."

"Er..." Amare grew confused. "I am not the official delegate. That would be him."

They simply turned towards Rui as a hint of disdain appeared in their eyes while disappointment emerged on their expressions.

Even if they didn’t show it on their face, he could still sense it within the depths of their mind.
