0% Gnome, the Elemental King over earth and metal, appeared.
“You bastaaard.”
When Gnome stomped his feet, the ground beneath him shot up. Surging up on the peaked ground, Gnome confronted Castle Bravo.
“Who do you think you are coming here.”
Gnome then twisted the earth’s crust within the ocean.
Great mounds of dirt came up to the water’s surface, then instantly formed into a giant wall.
It was an earthen wall made of silicate and heavy metals. It was several kilometers in diameter, which was more than enough to cover the whole World Tree.
Seeing the large disc floating in the air, Castle Bravo captured Gnome’s movements along with it.
[Confirm. The Elemental King has been successfully lured.]
- Good. Keep the other three occupied as well.
[Comprehend. Understood.]
Castle Bravo began executing its mission one step at a time.
[Elevate. Increasing altitude.]
When it saw Gnome stomp the ground and surge up, Castle Bravo gained even more altitude.
And the moment it did, another Elemental King followed–Ifrit, the Elemental King of fire.
“How dare you come here!”
Both Gnome and Ifrit chased after Castle Bravo in their respective ways as it went up.
The situation was going in its favor.
Castle Bravo’s task was to buy time while Tertius and Quintus stole the Lodestone and escaped. So because it needed a way to lure the Elemental Kings, it brought as many ‘Dark Day’s developed by Winter Heaven as it could.
[Drop. Launching one Dark Day.]
As soon as it spoke, one atom bomb dropped down below.
“......!”
Gnome and Ifrit momentarily paused their chasing.
Their instincts as Elementals set off alarm bells. If that thing exploded, the capital of elf country would not be safe.
The two Elemental Kings exchanged looks.
Gnome steadily raised the giant dirt wall into the sky, while Ifrit stepped forward and caught the falling bomb with his body.
“Hang on there! We can’t let it blow up!”
Just then.
[Ready. Activating secondary weapons.]
Clunk.
Numerous ASM (Air-to-Surface Missiles) located at the bottom of the airship aimed towards Ifrit and the bomb.
Shells soon rained down upon Ifrit’s head. At the shower of flames that fell like a torrent, Ifrit had to prioritize the safety of the bomb over himself.
But he didn’t intend to take every falling shell, of course.
“You won’t beat me that easily.”
Ifrit manipulated flames and countered with his own fire. Steel bullets and flames came together and created acrid smoke.
In the meantime, Gnome lifted the wide barrier all the way up. Now there wouldn’t be a problem even if the bomb exploded where Ifrit was.
“Now!”
At Gnome’s signal, Ifrit twisted his body in a split-second decision and threw the atom bomb straight back at Castle Bravo’s hull.
If the bomb struck its body, it could explode, and Castle Bravo would sustain irreparable damages.
This was what the two Kings were aiming for.
Now, what are you going to do.
Smiling triumphantly, Gnome moved away to lower levels.
A desperate situation.
But Castle Bravo wasn’t one to meet its end like this.
[Warning. The bomb must not explode at this distance. Ceasing fire.]
It first stopped firing, then started to fire up the engine compartment.
[Notice. Circling the ship and rising to the highest altitude.]
Vwooooom!
Castle Bravo elevated the ship faster than the bomb was climbing. Although the distance between it and the bomb was closing more and more due to technical limitations, the atom bomb was also gradually slowing down due to the influence of gravity.
Narrowly, the bomb started to descend again at the peak.
[Notice. Changing tactics. At this point, using all bombs at once.]
It had brought dozens of Dark Day bombs with it. If all of them were used, it would have a destructive power of about a million tons of TNT.

Castle Bravo recalled its initial goal.
Distract the Elementals until their comrades stole and escaped with the Lodestone. Once the theft and escape have been confirmed, use up all the bombs it brought and wipe out Kaurelia, and so let the Demon King have the upper hand in his war of conquest....
Everything had gone according to plan until now.
Strategically, it was perfect victory for the Demon Army.
[Your wish is my command. For His Majesty.]
Honoring the Demon King with loyalty and reverence, Castle Bravo went straight to work.
The hull rose higher and higher. It had passed its altitude limit a while ago, but it didn’t matter.
[Notice. All bombs have been dropped.]
Just then, the first bomb that had been fired happened to be falling back down again. Ifrit caught it again and was hurtling this way.
It’s too late.
Castle Bravo smugly unleashed the remaining stock.
“What...!”
A hundred heavy bombs dropped at the same time.
You may be an Elemental King, but you won’t be able to stop everything.As expected, the Fire Elemental Ifrit was only able to prevent one bomb triggering the others, while Gnome was rushing to reinforce the barrier.
“Damn it─!!”
Unable to hold back anymore, Ifrit burst into rage.

Castle Bravo tried to leave the premises at full throttle, but as soon as it did, a scorching heat arose from the rear of the hull.
The tail of the airship was on fire.
The first atomic bomb that had been deflected by Gnome’s barrier had begun exploding.
[Danger. Attempting to extinguish fire.]
As Castle Bravo ran off while trying to put out the fire on its tail, a hundred bombs destroyed Gnome’s barrier, one after the other, with massive aftermaths.
“Uwooooooo!”
Gnome folded the earth wall into a hemisphere, and did all he could to prevent the bursts of light and gamma rays from reaching below.
He was doing everything to gather the earth and stop every bomb, but there simply wasn’t enough material.
Even his spiritual form was fracturing. Gnome and Ifrit’s bodies showed signs of breaking down due to the constant barrage.
“Earth Lord! If this goes on, we’ll be caught up in it as well!”
“So we should leave it and run? You can’t seriously be saying that!”
With everything he had, Gnome built the last line of defense. But when the fourth bomb fell, he realized he wasn’t going to be able to hold on.
The heat of the bomb burned up the beard he was proud of. Even the very oxygen that moved after the explosion caused lasting damages to his spiritual body.
Huge amounts of gamma rays and heat were being transmitted to the already burning World Tree. Its green, green leaves were instantly robbed of moisture and began drying out. On top of that, they even distorted into terrible shapes due to enormous amounts of radiation.
Snap, snap–one by one, the leaves broke off, like it had been sprayed with defoliant.
Is this, truly how it ends!
It was just as the thought crossed Gnome’s mind.

Two spells uttered in succession.
Immediately afterwards, the fifty or so bombs that had been falling towards the earth wall stopped one by one with a pointless ‘bong’.
The face of Gnome, who had been struggling with blocking the bombs, went slack.
“Just what on earth....”
At some point, the bombs that had been exploding as soon as they touched became like tame sheep.
Just then.
“Haa, these fuckers.”
A vicious curse could be heard from below.
“They crossed the line hard.”
Ifrit and Gnome’s attention were drawn to where the sound came from.
A gold-eyed woman in a dress shirt and slacks was coming up using flight magic.
Her waist-length black hair gave off a dark and gloomy feel, and her damp gold-eyes contained a mix of both sorrow and rage.
It was Aether.
“Former Winter Heaven greets the King of Earth and King of Fire.”
Aether greeted the two Elemental Kings in a bland tone.
Exhaustion was evident in her voice, and there were deep shadows beneath her eyes.
However, there was one glowing Elec Elemental behind her explaining the intention behind her words.
Gathering themselves, the two Kings accepted her greeting.
“You must be Alice’s sibling.”
It had to be a nuclear bomb.
“My sister and I will go. Everyone else, stay here.”
After covering myself with radiation-proof scrolls and Elemental protection, I left for the hall.
[This is seriously too much.]
Well, I left with Alice, who had been my blood-relation back on Earth, to be exact.
For your information, her weird way of talking was granted by the Goddess herself so she couldn’t change it as she pleased.
Anyway.
I couldn’t hold back my shock at discovering that the situation outside was even more of a mess than inside.
[The Sea Dragon is at the northern cliffs, and an air fortress in the sky.]
My sister used the experience from her days as a hardcover and kept me informed.
I would have told her to shut up in the past, but since finding out that she was family, I couldn’t be that harsh anymore. Most importantly, it wasn’t the situation to do so.
I knew that President Cecil and Vermel were up against the Sea Dragon based on Alice’s info. Those two should be able to handle that one.
[We need to stop the one up there first.]
“I know that.”
Just then, a wall of dirt happened to be forming in the sky.
[The Earth Lord must be trying to stop the weapon you made.]
“Haaa.”
I let out a sigh.
Seriously, though, it pissed me off that some other guy was using what I made.
Since I started it, I suppose I should finish it.
Thinking that, I naturally lit up a cigarette.
[That’s unnecessary now.]
“It’s just for the sake of it, alright.”
[Even in the other world, too. You really like smoking.]
I wasn’t doing it because I like it, but because I was frustrated.
If only I hadn’t gone to grad school, I would have lived my whole life as a non-smoker.
With the help of mana grass and Alice, I used flight magic. Even as I ascended, the wall was gaining altitude.
As such, it took quite a while to catch up.
“I can’t see anything because of the wall.”
[I’ll take a look. There are a bunch of bombs dropping!]
By the time we reached the earth wall, the situation was about to become a catastrophe. A hundred rounds of my invention were coming down like rain, apparently.
[The two Elemental Kings are holding up against them, but it doesn’t look good.]
I had to help.
[How do we help?]
I couldn’t use the Seventh Form, Nuclear Fission, here; that would be adding fuel to the fire.
Then I’d have to replace the substance with something else that was difficult to fission.
I casted the Fifth and Sixth forms and mediated weak forces. So replaced uranium-235 with its isotope uranium-238, and plutonium with another decent element. These two spells unfolded as fields so I could use them without looking directly.
[......Huuu.]
That used up an enormous amount of mana. Alice, who did as I requested, gasped for breath and staggered above me.
[Tell me I did well, quickly.]
“Yeah, you did a good job.”
After telling my sister that, I floated up and looked around.
Castle Bravo was already gone, and the only thing that remained was massive flashes and gamma rays produced by the detonated bombs. The rest of the bombs that had been safety-locked were consumed by the hellfire instead of detonating.
“Former Winter Heaven greets the King of Earth and King of Fire.”
There might be some misunderstanding, but I at least decided to tell the truth.
I also didn’t forget to apologize.
“My actions have caused trouble for the both of you.”
With my egos merged, there were a few things that I learned. One of them was ‘always apologize when necessary’.
If I thought about it, the me before had received apologies but never given them. That could be what had caused friction in my relationships with others. No, I was 100% sure that it did.
“I will pay for my sins, so may you permit me to clean up this mess.”
For the sake of those who accepted me as I was, I had to improve my past imperfections one by one. In order to do that, I first had to confess everything that had happened prior and ask for forgiveness.
“Huhahaha!”
The two Kings who had been watching me dumbfoundedly soon began to laugh heartily.
“We’ve known about you for some time.”
“Yes, indeed.”
I was taken aback by their words.
I reflexively turned my head and looked up. Alice grinned at me and made a v-sign with her hand.
They must have talked about it already.
“Alice is an Elemental, and all Elementals are the sons and daughters of the Goddess. As such, you, too, can be seen as our sibling.”
A core officer of the Demon Army, and a relative of a soon-to-be Elemental King.
What the hell was my genealogy?
This was all because my two ego mixed like a latte.
“Where did Castle Bravo go?”
“The airship, you mean. That one fled. Now the only one left is the Sea Dragon at the northern shores.”
The Sea Dragon.
From what I recalled, the Sea Dragon Leviathan was quite proud, unlike Castle Bravo. So it wouldn’t flee and fight in place until a superior commanded it to.
“We’re going after the Sea Dragon now.”
“Will you be fine in that state?”
“Of course. You can’t be an Elemental King and be defeated by something like this.”
Gnome touched the area where his beard was missing and gave a jolly laugh.
“Then I will come with you.”
Castle Bravo had fled, and even if other Beasts showed up, Secuel would deal with them.
Because of that belief, I was able to comfortably focus on taking down Leviathan.
“But before that.”
“Do you have something to say?”
I pointed in the direction of the World Tree and spoke.
“I think we need to put that out first.”
The sacred tree of the elves was burning.
