Chapter 98: A Glimpse Of The Past! 2

How did that happen? How is it possible for the cat that was healthy and fine throughout the night to end up dead and almost battered to pieces? To everyone, it just has been attacked by another wild animal that made its way into the house, but Eduardo found that hard to believe.

There was no way a wild animal would make its way into the house. Eduardo was sure of that. He cried like a child as he looked at the cat’s corpse.

Fabio slowly held his hand, wearing an innocent look on her face.

"I’m sorry that your cat is dead, Eddy. If you don’t mind, I’ll be your cat to make up for your loss" Fabio said. Eduardo took it as a joke and stopped crying.

He didn’t agree with what Fabio said, neither did he reject it. He just wasn’t ready to hang out with Fabio just yet.

His mother saw the sweet expression on Fabio’s face and froze in fear. That was the first day she was aware of her son’s obsession because she saw him with the cat last night.

That night before the body was found, a tiny figure was found in the kitchen, taking a knife. He selected one of the sharpest knives, wrapping his tiny finger around it.

As he walked along the hallway, Charlotte saw him with the knife. She wanted to approach him, thinking he was sleepwalking, but he was mumbling a few words as he walked.

"I’ll get rid of it. I’ll kill it. I have to. Once it’s dead, he’ll look at me again. Eddy would only have my attention"

He repeated as he entered the room where the cat was. He saw it and his lips curled into a wide grin as he hugged the knife.

"Oh, so cute. You’re the little thing that stole Eddy from me. Eddy didn’t come to dinner because of you. He played with you throughout the whole day, touching your annoying fur. What’s so good about it? I can become a cat for Eddy. I’ll become anything Eddy wants" he muttered and raised the knife.

The cat hissed loudly, trying to run away. It tried to avoid Fabio. Just before it got to the door, he caught it by the neck, pinning it to the ground.

Charlotte, who stood outside the room, heard nothing except slashes from the knife and soft meow from the cat. The slash and stabbing continued as Fabio repeated those words over and over again.

"Die! Die! Die! Die!"

Everything was over after three minutes. Fabio dropped the knife and looked at his bloodied hands.

"It’s dead. Eduardo will finally look at me... Right? Mom?"

Charlotte shrieked and trembled even more. She heard soft footsteps as he walked outside the room. Even his nightwear was covered with blood.

Charlotte had the urge to puke but held herself back. Fabio moved closer to her and rubbed his bloodied hands over his mother’s hands.

"Since the blood is on your mother, you’re also one of the culprits. I hope you’ll keep quiet about it" He smiled and walked away.

Charlotte’s hand trembled as she looked at the blood. The urge to puke came immediately and she threw up everywhere. Her eyes met with the dead cat inside the room.

She emptied everything in her stomach before tidying the room to make it look like the cat was attacked. Fabio wore an innocent look when he was in front of Eduardo, just to hide his real identity as the killer.

And with that, Fabio and Eduardo became close. After the cat incident, Charlotte decided to keep an eye on her son. She found out that after the cat, other people approached Eduardo just to be friends.

Eduardo would agree to be friends with them, but after that day, they either don’t come back to school or they return the next day battered and beaten up. They also avoid Eduardo like a plague.

No one wanted to speak to Eduardo, except Fabio and Viola.

"If no one wants to be your friend, I’ll be your friend forever, Eddy" Fabio smirked, locking fingers with Eduardo.

Viola was starting to suspect something was going on. And when she knew the kind of monster Fabio was, it was too late to separate them from each other.

Eduardo was just a six-year-old kid who wanted love and attention from anyone. Fabio was also the six-year-old kid who was ready to take advantage of what Eduardo lacked, just to get closer to him.

Viola was looking around for her brother one Saturday afternoon till she found him asleep in the garden, with Fabio.

Eduardo slept peacefully, with the sun hitting his face. Fabio raised his hand over his face, blocking the sunlight. His eyes were fixed on Eduardo, not caring about his surroundings.

Viola pressed her lips together. She hasn’t been able to play with her brother ever since he arrived here. She wanted to push him away from Eduardo so badly. He was a bad influence but whenever he’s with Eduardo, he’s different. He’s like a cat, wanting attention from his owner.

’I better warn him to stay away from my brother’

She grumbled and walked closer, but she froze when she saw something she wished she hadn’t seen. Her heart pounded in her chest repeatedly. She turned around and headed into the house.

She bumped into Charlotte, who was just returning from shopping with her guards and the butler behind her. She stood in her way and Charlotte frowned.

"Young miss, please leave the way" the butler spoke softly to her.

"No!" Viola responded and pointed at Charlotte.

"I’ll only say this once! Make your son stay away from my brother," she said. Charlotte looked around, clearing her throat before speaking.

"How can I ever do that? That would be breaking two brothers apart. I can’t be that mean" She shrugged, trying to hide the panic on her face.

"Brothers? What kind of brother kisses his brother while he’s asleep? I’ve never seen other brothers do that to each other" She said.

The shopping bags Charlotte was holding fell to the ground. She bit her lips, stopping them from trembling.

"D... Did you see it well, darling? It could be a game"

"Get your son away from my brother, or I’ll report to Father,", she said and walked away.

’Shit! It has come to this. I should have separated them a long time ago. Maybe it’s time... for me to get rid of that blonde-haired boy before he ruins my son completely’
