Chapter 25: Eduardo: Captured!

Meanwhile, Eduardo was in the car with Lucia and her guard. His eyes were stuck outside the car, glancing at the people walking by and the cars that drove by. He was a little bit familiar with the street. However, he doesn’t remember much, since he never bothered to look outside when he was Carlo.

Lucia and her guard didn’t say a word to Eduardo since they got into the car. They were secretly thinking of how to hand over Eduardo to the person waiting to pick him up.

The guard couldn’t help but steal glances at Eduardo’s face, who seemed to be lost in his thoughts. Almost as if he had no idea about what was happening in his surroundings.

She remembered the death glare he had given her earlier, and suddenly shivered at the memory.

Lucia signaled to the guard from the backseat. She got the signal and whispered to the driver.

Eduardo still didn’t know what was happening in the car. All he was thinking about was his time when he was Carlo, as his eyes were focused outside.

It took over thirty minutes before he realized he was in a car, going to a mall. He snapped back to reality and glanced around. The road was different, there wasn’t a single soul or any car driving past. The car even stopped and there wasn’t any sign of Lucia, her guard or the driver.

He knew something was wrong.

"I should have suspected she was up to something" he grumbled, and looked around the car.

There was no one around. He carefully exited the car park and tried to figure out where he was.

"Again, with the phone problem", he cursed within and was still looking around, just if there would be any surprise attack.

Even if he never trained in combat, when he was Carlo... his new body was already used to it.

The car was parked in a deserted tunnel and from where he stood, he could see the end of the tunnel. He didn’t need anyone to tell him traps had been set there and people were waiting there for him. Instead of him going forward, he went back. It was a long distance, but he didn’t mind. He was the only one walking through the empty tunnel. His footsteps echoed off the walls and the streetlights kept flickering almost as if he was in a hunted street.

Eduardo didn’t look scared. In his pocket was a small dagger he had bought for self-protection. He never thought he would use it until today.

He walked for over ten minutes and finally saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Relief washed over him until he heard the sound of a rumbling engine behind him.

"Fuck!" He cursed, taking off at a sprint, but the bikes were faster. His body felt heavy, and his legs were a little weak since he had been walking all the way. He didn’t mind and tried to increase his pace. As he was running, one of the bikes gained on him and drove past him. Just as he thought he was going to be able to escape, one of the bikers struck his head with a baseball bat.

Eduardo felt an excruciating pain and threw himself to the wall. He slid to the ground and placed his hand over his head. His head was spinning, his gaze was getting blurry as he stared at his hands filled with blood.

It was his blood.

The engines stopped rumbling in front of him and one of them started to get closer to him. Eduardo raised his head to see who it was. However, his gaze was blurry and his eyes were bloodshot. He could see the familiar red hair.

"Lu... Luca?" He called, softly.

"Oh Eduardo, you remember me. I’m honored" Luca sneered as he took out a stick of cigarette and started smoking. Eduardo was still struggling on the floor as he was losing so much blood.

"Where is lady Lucia and the others? Did you kill them?" He queried, his voice weak.

"Who is that? No, I don’t have time to answer your question. We are going back to Russia". Luca turned around to leave.

"No!" Eduardo’s eyes flashed with defiance. He held his head with his left hand and struggled to stand up. The riders were puzzled, seeing the first person to resist their hit.

"I’m not returning with you" he added.

Luca puffed out the cigarette smoke he gathered in his mouth and moved closer to Eduardo. Both their eyes met. Eduardo didn’t even flinch, staring at Luca.

Of course, he never did. After all, Luca hated Eduardo from the beginning. Eduardo, on the other hand, just saw him as a rude young master. He didn’t know what had happened between Luca and the real Eduardo before he found himself in Eduardo’s body, but he knew it was bad enough to anger Luca to the point of hatred.

"I know about your fake feelings for my sister. Once we return to Russia, I’ll lock you up in a shed and make sure she never sees you again. Since you spread your legs for that bastard prince, I’ll give you a chance to continue being a slut in Russia. That’ll be my gift to you", Luca threatened. He placed the cigarette on his lips and was walking away.

"Tie him up and drag him to the car!" He ordered his men and was heading to the car himself. However, Eduardo was too stubborn to get himself captured by these people. Before two of them got closer to him, he sliced the first one’s neck and pushed the dagger into the second one’s left eye. He immediately pulled it out, and the blood spilled across his face.

Their groans alerted Luca, who was shocked to see that Eduardo was still able to move his body, despite the profuse bleeding.

"Don’t make this any worse, Eduardo. If you kill them, I’ll get even more of them. Be a good slave and get into the car", he ordered.

"I won’t do as you wish. Bring more of them and kill them also", Eduardo grunted and still continued waving the dagger. He ended up killing four bikers, and he was left with three of them. Luca spat out the cigarette stick from his lips, getting annoyed already.

"If he tries to resist, then break his legs or hands. Break anything and drag him now!" He yelled.

The three of them attacked together. Eduardo still positioned himself, ready to hit them, but he couldn’t. His legs got weaker, due to the amount of blood he had lost. He fell down on the floor and glared at Luca with his bloodshot eyes.

For the second time, the bat struck his head and he slowly started losing consciousness. The dagger slipped from his hands as his eyes slowly closed. The groaning sound he was making stopped immediately, and a name slipped from his lips.

"Marcello..."

For the first time, he wanted Marcello to help him.
