Chapter 138: Bad, Grandfather! Bad!
Chapter 138: Bad, Grandfather! Bad!
A few days ago, when the video of Eduardo beating up Leon went viral, a certain someone saw it. He was amazed to see the person on the screen.
Blonde hair, blue eyes...
"Eduardo Ivanov? Isn’t that my... Grandson?" He asked.
His assistant, who showed him the video nodded his head. The old man stood up from the chair, pressing his walking stick on the ground.
"Ha! What about Roselle?" He asked.
"Your daughter died twenty years ago, master," he told him.
"Oh, she died... I see" was the only word that spewed out of his mouth. Apparently, he didn’t care about his daughters. After all, he married them off just to build his company and reputation. His eldest daughter was married to a man twenty years older than her. Her husband is dead, so she has taken over his company. His second daughter is married to someone from America while his last daughter, who was Roselle is dead.
"I guess I’ll have to meet my grandson. I need him to bag a business deal. If only he could marry the prime minister’s daughter... Hahaha!" He burst into laughter and the door opened.
A young-looking man with glasses and brown hair walked into the living room.
"Good evening Father"
"Oh, you’re back Chrishan. Welcome home"
"Thank you, Father..." He smiled.
Chrishan was an adopted son. Since he doesn’t have any son to take over his business once he dies, his best option is to adopt one. He couldn’t trust his company with his daughters, but he could... With a total stranger.
Chrishan’s mother is from India, while his father... Well, is a stranger to him. When he found Mr Vladimir, it was by chance. All he had to do was prove himself to get a good job in his company, but he got more.
"How’s your mother?" He asked and Chrishan smiled.
"She’s doing well, thanks to you" he responded calmly. He has been his adopted heir for more than five years, yet no one knew his identity. He has been hoping for everything to be revealed as soon as possible, but Mr Vladimir, for some reason, doesn’t want it to be publicized. He has been patient, waiting for the perfect time to become the head of the family till...
"Come, Chrishan. I found my grandson" Mr Vladimir spoke with a huge smile on his wrinkled face.
Something inside Chrishan twisted in anger and jealousy.
’Grandson? I’ve got a rival? How? Why? This is not possible!’
His face glowed red in anger, that he almost couldn’t hold himself back.
"He’s very handsome and strong...." Mr Vladimir continued.
Chrishan snapped out of it, wearing a weak smile.
"That’s good news, father. I’ll head to my room now"
"Ah yes! Good bye" he said, waving his hand. Chrishan was heading out of the living room when he heard his father’s voice.
"Make arrangements, I’ll visit my grandson very soon"
He closed the door behind him with a deep frown on his face. He doesn’t know who the grandson is or what he looks like... He just hoped and prayed that he wouldn’t become an obstruction to him.
.
.
Then, the day Mr Vladimir decided to pay a visit to Ivanov’s mansion to see his grandson, Chrishan was asked to follow them. But, he refused.
He made an excuse that he was having an important meeting at the company. Mr Vladimir patted his back and gave him a thumbs up.
"Keep up the good work"
He said and left with his butler.
"Master, do you think Chrishan is up to something?" The butler asked.
"No way! He’s a good child and also my heir. There’s no way he could ever do something bad" Mr Vladimir has so much trust in him, but it wasn’t the same for Chrishan. He doesn’t want that grandson anywhere in the house. He also didn’t care about his identity.
’Nothing can stand in my way, not even your grandson, Father’
He clenched his fist as he mumbled.
.
.
Back to the present!
Eduardo stared at the man in front of him from head to toe. The one who claimed to be his grandfather. He didn’t need any evidence to prove he was right. He has blue eyes and blonde hair.
"You look much more handsome and stronger in person,", he said. Antonio immediately walked towards Eduardo.
"Son, head up to your room and don’t come down. Don’t answer any of this old man’s summons!" He pointed to Mr Vladimir.
The old man laughed. With the assistance of his walking stick, he also walked closer to Eduardo.
"You shouldn’t listen to your father" he paused and turned his gaze to Antonio.
"If you’re calling me a bad father, you are a bad husband! You didn’t care about your wife, my daughter, till she died!"
"Don’t you dare put me on the same filthy level as you! You are worse. You didn’t care about her till today. No, you still don’t care. You’re here because of my son, aren’t you?"
Mr Vladimir was silent. He knew that Antonio was right. He didn’t care about his daughters. He didn’t care if they were dead or alive.
After all, he raised them like flowers. The first daughter, Jasmine. The second one was Lily and finally, Rose. Roselle.
He brought them up so well. He didn’t care much about their education. After all, they are just going to be housewives.
Jasmine, his first daughter, whom he married off to a man twenty years older than her, just for a business partnership. After the death of her husband, she broke every relationship between both companies and also, with her father.
Lily, who was married to an American, found love and was also allowed to do whatever she wanted. She lived a perfect life, which was what her father didn’t expect.
Roselle, who was married off to the Prince of Russia, died five years after her marriage. He didn’t know she was dead until a few days ago.
His wife died before she could give birth to a male. Refusing to remarry, he used his daughters to an advantage.
Vladimir smiled at Eduardo, who looked just like Roselle.
"If he’s your son, he’s also my grandson. Listen to me, Eduardo... You should come find me. I have a good deal and I promise you’ll like it"
"I’m sorry, sir. But, I can only do what my father wants," Eduardo spoke with a firm voice, and the atmosphere became even silent. Even Antonio was shocked.
Mr Vladimir frowned as his eyes darkened.
"How loyal. Don’t worry, my cute grandson... it’s not something hard. All I need is for you to get married to the prime minister’s daughter. She’s beautiful and elegant. I’ll set up a date where you can have a chat with her and..."
"I already told you that I’m not agreeing with your words. I’m not doing it! Not the dinner. Not the date. Not the marriage!" He still spoke calmly, but his deep and cold voice was able to make it clear to him. Mr Vladimir became silent as he cleared his throat.
"You’re as beautiful as your mother, but you took over your father’s bad personality." He said.
"That’s a good thing, isn’t it?" He asked.
"Hahahaha!" The man burst into laughter and cleared his throat.
"I’ll invite her to your ceremony! Once you get to meet her, you’ll never be able to take your eyes off her" he spoke with certainty in his voice.
"I’m not interested old man!"
"Hey! You should call me grandfather!" Mr Vladimir hit his walking stick on the ground but, Eduardo didn’t flinch.
"Grandfather? Do you wish to hear that word from my mouth so badly? You’ll probably hear it after you take your last breath. Ah! My bad. You won’t be able to hear it since you’ll be dead!"
Eduardo shrugged.
Once again, he hit his walking stick on the ground.
"Such insolence! How dare you?"
"You suddenly barge into my father’s territory and the first thing you ask your grandson, whom you haven’t met since he came into this world, is to marry a girl he doesn’t know? Yet you expect me to call you, grandfather? Do you have brain cancer or something?"
"You..."
Antonio held back his laughter, including David who was behind. He never saw this side of Eduardo before. It’s like he became a different person these past days.
"That’s enough, Mr Vladimir. You should leave"
"There’s no way I’m leaving..."
"David, call the security..." Eduardo turned to look at David.
"Keep quiet! I’ll be back on your ceremony day. And I’ll bring her with me. You should just nod your head and promise to marry the girl I choose for you. That’s what your mother did!" He said before leaving, slamming the door behind.
Eduardo’s eyes turned cold as he sighed deeply. He doesn’t know what kind of life his mother had lived when she was with him, but it was obvious how bad it was.
"That old man won’t give up. Maybe it’s time for you to get married, Eduardo. Do you have anyone in mind?" His father asked.
Eduardo shot his eyes wide open upon hearing that.
Does he really have anyone in mind?
Marcello?
’Huh? How could I think about him? No fucking way!’
He shook his head, driving the thought away.
His father saw him shaking his head, thinking he was saying no to having anyone in mind.
"I see. Then, I’ll find a better wife for you. You can tell me if you’re not ready to get married but, as long as that old man old man is alive... he’ll force you into an arranged marriage,"
"I’ll leave it to you, Father," Eduardo said.
Antonio patted his shoulder, with a smile.
