The Lunar Crest Academy: Marked by The Lycans
Chapter 51: A Bloody Game

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: A Bloody Game

Adrian’s heart thundered in his chest as he sprinted across the academy grounds, the world blurring around him. His breath came in ragged bursts, but he didn’t slow. Not when his lungs burned. Not when fear clawed at his spine. His mind played the same name over and over like a scream he couldn’t silence, Lorraine.

The looming structure of the Lycans’ dormitory rose ahead, dark and formidable, its black stone exterior casting a shadow long enough to chill the heart. Two massive guards in red-collared uniforms stood at the front entrance, their gazes sharp, postures rigid with predatory power.

Adrian didn’t hesitate.

He charged straight toward them.

"I need to see the Lycan Prince, Kieran Valerius Hunter!" he shouted, breathless.

The guards stiffened. Then laughed.

"What the hell is a noble doing at a Lycan’s door?" one of them sneered, stepping forward. "Lost your way, pup?"

Adrian clenched his fists. "I don’t care about protocol. He took Lorraine. I need to see her. I need to know she’s alive."

He barely saw the punch coming.

A brutal fist slammed into his jaw with a sickening crack, splitting his lip and jerking his head sideways. Blood sprayed across the stone steps. Adrian staggered but didn’t fall. He lifted his head slowly, blood dripping down his chin, pain burning hot across his face.

"I must see Kieran," he said again, voice strained but steady.

"How dare a lowly noble like you speak his name that way," the other Lycan hissed, stepping forward. His boot caught Adrian in the gut, sending him crashing to the ground.

Adrian groaned, winded, but he pushed himself upright again, legs trembling.

"I can’t lose her like I lost Aveline too...." he murmured, more to himself than them. His bloodied mouth curled in defiance. "Tell Kieran Valerius Hunter.... to bring Lorraine back!"

One of the Lycans growled, and the next kick hit Adrian hard in the knees, crumpling him to the floor. His head smacked the stone painfully, and the world tilted. Blood mixed with the dust under his cheek as stars danced in his vision.

But even as the darkness crept in, Adrian didn’t stop whispering her name.

"Lorraine...."

Lorraine’s POV

I started pacing again, my steps restless across the marble floors. The room was far too quiet, too clean, too golden and elegant. The walls looked warm but felt like stone. Kieran had told me to stay here, that he would find a way to get me out safely.

But for how long?

How long was I supposed to sit and wait like a locked-up doll while the world outside burned? My fists curled tightly at my sides. I wasn’t made for waiting. Not anymore. Not after everything.

I have waited all my life. I’m tired of it

My thoughts snapped back to Callum.

To the moment I cradled his lifeless body in my arms.

We were supposed to bury him.

To mourn him.

But Astrid Voss took that away.

She didn’t just take his body. She took his dignity. Ordered for them to be disposed like they were nothing but trash. She took all of them, the ones who died following me. The ones who believed we could matter. She stripped them of everything, even in death.

And then she locked me in the White Room. Alone. Like an animal

I stopped walking and stared at the door. My fingers twitched. I needed to get out. I had to.

Elise.... Felix....

I hadn’t seen them since that day at the hospital. Were they okay? Were they still alive? Had they been punished for standing with me? Were they sleeping well, or eating scraps? Did they think I was dead?

I moved to the window, pulling the curtain back.

From this floor, I could see the entire Lycan courtyard. It was pristine, gravel that glittered under the sun, trimmed trees, expensive stone paths that twisted through their buildings like art. The contrast to the feral dorm was nauseating. Our feral dorm is nothing compared to this.

This was bigger

Much more luxurious looking.

I suddenly heard a shout fr.eew eb novel..com

A Lycan student stepped into the courtyard, grinning wide, his voice louder than a normal wolf’s voice .

"We’ve got ourselves a a new human punching bag! Anyone bored? Come get a few hits in before we kill him off!"

A chill spread through my spine.

Is this the kind of game they play over here? Beat people for fun?

I squinted through the glass as the the crowd gathered

Then I saw him.

No.

No, no, no....

Adrian.

His face was bloodied. His shirt torn. His blonde hair was slick with sweat and blood. He could barely stand.

Adrian.

My breath hitched so hard I staggered backward a step.

Then I heard him.

"Tell your prince to bring her out!" he shouted, voice hoarse and cracked. "I want to see Lorraine!"

Oh God.

"No..." My hands slammed against the glass. "No, Adrian, what are you doing?"

He took a step forward, and was immediately punched across tge face. He staggered, and they didn’t stop. They never stop. Lycans gathered, laughing, one after the other taking their turns, fists slamming into his ribs, his face, his sides.

And he kept getting up.

My throat tightened so hard I couldn’t breathe.

I bolted to the door and yanked on it. Locked. Of course it was locked.

"OPEN THE DOOR!" I screamed, pounding on it with my fists. "KIERAN!"

Nothing.

Another thud. Another sound of skin against bone. Another cry I wasn’t sure came from Adrian or me.

I rattled the handle, slammed my shoulder against the wood, clawed at it like a caged animal. My voice cracked.

"They’re going to kill him! You have to stop this!" I screamed, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Kieran! Please..... please open the door! Please!"

There was no amswer still.

I glanced back at the window.

They kept hitting him.

I fell to my knees, pressing my forehead against the wood.

This couldn’t be happening again. Not Adrian. Not after Callum. Not after everything. He had come for me, walked straight into hell for me. And I was stuck behind a fucking locked door.

"Don’t die," I whispered, shaking. "Please.... don’t die. Not you too."
