Chapter 727: On What Grounds?
Chapter 727: Chapter 727: On What Grounds?
The Gardener and the man who was crawling through the dog hole exchanged looks, then suddenly retreated and ran in opposite directions.
Little Taotie said hastily, "Chase!"
Everyone chased after them, and in the director’s camera, all were seen running through the amusement park in the deep of night.
The director commented, "These kids are resilient, bound for great success."
Suddenly, the man pushed the Gardener aside and stood in front, reaching to pluck the handgun that hung at his waist.
All eyes fell on the gun, and the mood darkened.
A girl said nervously, "That’s right, the Earl who was murdered was shot with this kind of gun!"
"Don’t be afraid, we outnumber them!" shouted the middle-aged male performer.
The case was drawing ever closer to a resolution.
To use Little Taotie’s words, what stood before them was a dish missing only the final soulful seasoning or its last meticulous garnishment.
The director said, "We need a representative to come forward."
Everyone looked at Little Taotie, but he hid behind Ji Guang and refused to step out.
"Zaizai, it’s your merit that you found the truth."
"Yes, Little Taotie, it’s all thanks to your efforts!"
"Little Taotie, I think you should step forward."
Little Taotie, feeling dazed, looked toward Ji Guang, who smiled and nodded in agreement, "I also think you are the most suitable to do it."
Little Taotie emerged as their leader and began to analyze the case methodically, initially discussing things that were mostly similar to what he had shared with Ji Guang earlier.
As Little Taotie began on the latter part of the analysis, "Coming here to pick flowers in the dead of night is risky, but this time the buyer demanded a quantity—five hundred tulips, which compelled him to crawl through the dog hole and plan to pick that same number here."
"How much money did they offer you to do such a thing!"
"Not much," was the reply.
Little Taotie skipped over the topic and continued with the analysis, "The Earl’s death before, it must have been a long-premeditated assassination."
"Assassination?"
"Picking five hundred tulips in one day, even without us being here, the Earl would have noticed and tried to stop them. Out to pick tulips, they encounter the Earl taking a walk, who would surely attempt to stop them from picking flowers, but in a tragic mistake, they end up murdering him and, compounded by their earlier wrongful act, pretend to know nothing about it."
Little Taotie continued, "Possibly, the maid had come looking for the Earl; when she found he wasn’t there, she was about to leave but then she heard cries for help. Facing a situation involving her secret crush, she quickly recognized it."
"These are all conjectures; let’s interrogate them!" a member of the Rock Band said excitedly.
The Gardener and the flower seller were apprehended.
After several questions from the Rock Band member, the Gardener and flower seller chose to stay silent to avoid further mistakes.
After Little Taotie crushed a stone in his hand, neither the Gardener nor the flower seller dared to keep silent any longer.
What if it wasn’t a stone but their own heads that this small hand crushed?
They no longer dared to hide the truth and spilled their original plan.
Their wish was to sell all the tulips and once they’d made money to attain their freedom, they planned to travel around the world.
If the Earl had allowed them to pick the flowers, they would have generously left some behind, not taking them all, but if the Earl was uncooperative and blocked them, they couldn’t be blamed for being ruthless.
The maid, who had run over at some point, began furiously kicking the Gardener, "I knew you were secretly selling the tulips! But I never imagined you’d think of murdering the Earl!"
"Oh please, you fancied him, it’s natural you’d take his side in every matter. I toiled to grow these flowers, why should they all be sold for him! Why can’t I sell them for my own profit?"
"You are a servant! You have no freedom!" the maid yelled.
"Why not! Why not!" The Gardener began to lose control.
