Chapter 501: Chapter 501: Are You Afraid of the Haunted House
Xiangxiang’s delicate brows furrowed, she pinched her nose, and shook her head, "No, it’s not the scent of a demon, it’s the stink of animal sweat."
"A wild beast?" Mo Haihao shook his head, "I’ve checked the surveillance here and haven’t seen any large animals."
"Please don’t doubt my expertise." Xiangxiang closed her eyes, endured the nausea, and took a deep breath. Her red lips parted slightly, "It’s a wolf, and there’s a strong scent of blood—human blood, mixed with the wolf’s sweat and saliva."
Xiangxiang opened her eyes, her face paled a bit, as she covered her nose with a scented tissue, her face full of disgust, "This smell is really nauseating."
Mo Haihao recalled seeing a few big dogs in the surveillance, apparently owned by the Haunted House’s owner and brought to the Haunted House because one part of it featured a werewolf theme, and the dogs were dressed up as wolves.
Could there be real wolves inside?
Mo Haihao took off his sunglasses, looked around, and didn’t see Ghost or the like. He concluded that this was not a supernatural event. It was very likely a human-caused incident that had been staged to look supernatural, confusing the audience.
"Since it’s not a supernatural event, it’s none of our business, let’s withdraw."
After all, having two kids with him, he did not want to confront directly, in case a wolf jumped out and scared the children.
Xiangxiang looked at Mo Haihao surprisingly. Normally, having come all this way, they would investigate further, even if it wasn’t a supernatural event.
Xiangxiang looked down at Little Taotie she was holding by the hand, and roughly guessed what the captain was thinking. It seemed he had considerations because of the two kids.
Just as they were about to leave, both Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan looked in the same direction simultaneously.
Little Taotie tilted his head, "He’s wearing our school uniform."
Hua Jinyan said in a deep voice, "It’s Ghost."
"Is it Ghost?" Little Taotie rubbed his eyes and looked at the person’s feet, sighed, "It really is Ghost."
Mo Haihao hurriedly took off his sunglasses, but the Ghost had already run off, and he saw nothing.
"What did the Ghost you saw look like?" Mo Haihao asked.
Little Taotie spoke sweetly, "Wearing our school’s uniform, with a red scarf, must be in the third grade or higher."
Hua Jinyan added, "Missing an arm, probably got bitten off by a ferocious beast, maybe it’s the wolves you guys mentioned."
Little Taotie’s voice held a hint of uncertainty, "He ran too fast, but it looked like—Evil Spirit!"
At the mention of "Evil Spirit," Mo Haihao who was about to leave couldn’t leave anymore.
There hadn’t been a supernatural event here before, but perhaps now one might arise.
"Are you afraid of the Haunted House?" Mo Haihao asked.
Xiangxiang lifted her red lips into a smile, "The two little kids aren’t even scared after seeing the real Ghost, do you think those cheap tricks inside created by humans could scare them?"
Mo Haihao also felt he had asked a stupid question.
Little Taotie stood tall, "I’m not scared!"
Hua Jinyan looked at Mo Haihao with a full gaze of disdain.
Seemingly irritated by the disdain in Hua Jinyan’s eyes, Mo Haihao maliciously asked, "Real wolf, scared?"
Before Hua Jinyan could speak, Little Taotie had already patted his little chest, confident, "I’ve been to a wildlife park, and wasn’t scared of the big tigers, not to mention a little wolf!"
"Really not scared?" Mo Haihao was a bit worried. The six-year-old Little Cub, what if he got scared at night, had nightmares, and was left with a trauma?
Little Taotie puffed out his chest and lifted his head, mimicking Xiao Lingzhi’s usual confident and haughty demeanor, "Not scared at all! I’ll make them scared of me!"
"Awu!" Little Taotie made a tiger-pouncing, fiercely cute gesture.
