The <Tower of Trials> had existed on Earth for time immemorial, like a phenomenon of nature.

No one questioned its purpose, nor the existence of the monsters born within its walls. Much like how few pondered the reasons for human existence or the origins of flora and fauna.

It was simply a rule of the world, as fundamental as gravity. This held true even after Earth became a part of the Galactic Empire.

Sentient beings within the Tower were integrated into human society, while the nonsentient were classified as monsters.

And somewhere, at the highest floor of the <Tower of Trials>…

Beep-

“Hehehe… Hufufufu.”

A mischievous giggle echoed through the top floor.

Beep-

A young girl, her appearance unchanged in the past 20 years, grinned slyly, her fingers dancing across a joystick. Frantic shouts erupted from the screen in front of her.

-Retreat! Now!

-Ugh! Phase 3! No room for error!

-Get the P-Pink Teddy Bear first!

-It’s in rage mode! Sub-tank swap first, immediately!

-Careful! Don’t pull aggro on Cream Vanilla Cookie yet! AOE incoming!

On-screen, an adorable yet gigantic pink teddy bear and monstrous confectioneries relentlessly pushed back against a group of humans.

“Hehehe.”

This version, specially commissioned and upgraded by her, was proving quite effective.

-Ugh! We’ve failed.

-Please order the retreat!

-Everyone, use your Return Stones in order!

Perpe, manipulating the cookie monsters with her joystick, wore a triumphant smile.

“Hufufufu.”

Perpe was the Galactic Empire’s administrator assigned to Earth. The planet’s management was entirely at her discretion.

As a result of her arrangements, Imperial resources and technology flowed solely through the <Tower of Trials>, fueling fierce competition between nations in their Tower climbing endeavors. And crafting custom stages for them was one of Perpe’s long-standing hobbies.

“Heeheehee. Should I give Pinky a clone jutsu next?”

Perpe casually uttered words that would horrify any Earthling. Her beloved android, Pinky the Pink Teddy Bear, had recently defeated the world’s top Tower raiding party.

“Umm.”

Of course, she was never satisfied.

Perpe pulled out a sketchbook and began scribbling with colored pencils, brimming with ideas for Pinky’s and the cookie monsters’ endless evolution.

After a while, she put down the sketchbook. Her busy(?) schedule as Earth’s administrator didn’t end there.

With a decisive hmph, she put on a responsible expression and manipulated the hologram system, opening several additional screens.

Chzzz-

As the administrator, wasn’t she essentially Earth’s god? Naturally, she had to monitor her domain with care!

After her <Tower of Trials> work, she always made time to observe the surface world—a routine she never missed.

Perpe folded her arms, watching the screens with a resolute eye. But her expression quickly melted and fell apart.

“Mmm. Slurp.”

The camera, under her control, zoomed in on a fluffy cream bun in a bakery.

“Hehehe…”

Forgetting her original purpose, she flitted between pastry shops, street vendors, bakeries, cafes, and restaurants, her eyes glued to the food.

“Slurp.”

She swallowed hard. Then, her gaze fixated on several scenes.

-Did you save this for Mommy, Seulgi?

-Mhmm, mhmm!

-Awww! My Seulgi is so precious. Should Mommy give you a kiss?

-Wee!

A giggling child and a mother whose eyes were full of love.

Chzz-

-Daddy! Hehehe!

-Oh, my Sunghoon! Have you been waiting long?

-Mhm!

A little boy dashing into his father’s arms after work.

Chzz-

-Mommy! Daddy! Buy me this!

-Nuh-uh. We made a promise before coming to the mart, remember? Only one toy.

-Nooo! Buy it! Buy it!

-Honey, you know we can’t give in.

-Hahaha.

A family chatting warmly while shopping at the mart.

Chzz-

Perpe watched silently. Her expression was unreadable, her thoughts a mystery. She simply stared, lost in thought, for a long time.

“…”

And somewhere, someone was watching her.

Karlstein observed Perpe without revealing himself. He watched as she gazed longingly at the images of happy families. He remained hidden even as Perpe picked up her sketchbook again and began to doodle, her shoulders slumped.

He simply watched, his expression enigmatic.

Perpe’s colorful, childish scribbles in her sketchbook were a mess, but it wasn’t hard to recognize what they were.

A small house. The sun and a tree. A dog. Pinky. And a figure holding her hand.

Karlstein, cloaked from perception by his transcendent power, watched her drawing with a look of pity.

Perpe’s birth…wasn’t that of an ordinary human.

While she had broken free from her constraints, she couldn’t change her past, her origins tied to the <Tower of Trials>.

It was impossible for Perpe to have family.

“…”

Just as Perpe finished her drawing and gently stroked it with her hand…

Ziiiing-

A faint ripple distorted the space around her, and a blue gate materialized in mid-air.

“…!”

A red-haired young man and a skeleton in a martial uniform stepped out of the gate.

Perpe, her gloomy mood forgotten, beamed and rushed to embrace them.

“Uncle!!”

“Oof! Hey! You’re stronger than me so be careful! My back isn’t what it used to be.”

“Goodness! A young lady shouldn’t be so boisterous. Have some decorum! Men and women shouldn’t be so close, tsk-tsk.”

“Seriously, old Lich? Even if that’s true, it sounds creepier coming from you about this little kid.”

“Hehe.”

The girl, having hugged the young man, leaped onto the skeletal lich’s shoulders for a piggyback ride.

“Girl! Didn’t I say that’s enough?”

The lich grumbled, but he didn’t push the girl away or put her down.

“Stop pretending you don’t like it, you geezer.”

“Ahem!”

Lich King Raymond ended up being a Confucian-believer after learning martial arts. He simply cleared his throat and gently held the girl’s legs, worried she might slip.

“Oh she’s fine, old man. The girl tanked Hellfire and lived. What’s there to worry about?”

“Ahem!”

They would occasionally visit Perpe, who had made little mental growth. After a warm chat, they opened a gate and left for somewhere else.

Perpe’s lonely appearance from earlier had long since vanished.

With his hands behind his back, Kalshtein watched the scene unfold, then pulled out the sketchbook Perpe had left behind and opened it.

On either side of a crooked, childlike drawing were a skull and the red-headed Yongyong, all holding hands and smiling brightly.

“Haha.”

She was skilled with a sword, but it seemed drawing was a different matter.

Kalshtein gently set the sketchbook down. He did not want to disturb their happiness for no reason.

As he wondered where to look next, Kalshtein quietly vanished.

The door of a cafe in the capital of the Galactic Empire on Terra swung open, and in walked the striking Succubus Queen, her blue horns and blue hair immediately catching the eye.

This cafe was so expensive that ordinary people could never dream of stepping inside, yet her beautiful presence drew the gaze of every man in the room all at once.

Click-clack-

“Sorry, I’m a little late.”

“It’s fine. I know you’re busy. I shouldn’t have called you. Your healing therapy business has been booming lately, right?”

“Still, I’ve got plenty of time to see you!”

As soon as Succubus Queen Selena spotted the woman she was looking for, she hurried over and embraced her tightly.

Both women wore genuine, warm smiles—one approaching, the other sitting in greeting.

“So, you’re getting married?”

“Ahaha, yeah. That’s why I called to give you the invitation.”

“You mentioned he’s the crown prince of your home planet, right?”

“Yup. That’s how it turned out.”

Selena’s eyes sparkled as she admired the invitation, while Keisha flushed, trying to hide her embarrassment.

“Looks like a shotgun wedding, huh?”

“Pfff!”

Keisha, once burdened with debt and forced by Oradge to work as a Galactic TV streamer and Bluadge, she had become a slave to money, eventually rising to the position of an Imperial research director.

Her appointment was less because of her expertise in research, but more thanks to her skill in managing people, a field in which she surprisingly excelled.

After steadily climbing the corporate ladder, she suddenly announced her retirement—and her marriage to the crown prince of her home planet.

“H-how did you know?”

Though the circumstances made it obvious, it was something Selena, the queen of her race, could easily sense, almost instinctively.

“Hmm. You don’t smell like a female anymore. You reek of a mother’s smell.”

“Eek!”

Keisha shuddered, wrapping her arms around herself.

“I just love those reactions you give. It’s so much fun!”

“This isn’t a reaction!”

They continued bickering and sharing updates, but a moment of silence fell when the topic shifted.

“How’s she doing?”

“Mm.”

“Is Virdel still the same?”

A somber look spread across their faces.
