When Lin Yushan received a call from Chu Heng in the morning about going to the Civil Affairs Bureau, she thought he was attempting some kind of deceit.

She hadn’t expected Chu Heng to be so compliant this time, not making any further fuss, quickly signing the divorce papers.

Emerging from the Civil Affairs Bureau, Lin Yushan looked at Chu Heng and was just about to ask why he had come to terms with it so quickly.

But before she could speak, Chu Heng mocked her first, "Lin Yushan, you’ve got some nerve, huh? Just separated from me for a little bit and you’re already cozying up with Huo Chengyi from Huo Group! I bet the two of you have been involved for quite a while! Probably had me wearing a big green hat all along!"

"What are you talking about, Chu Heng?" Lin Yushan couldn’t believe her ears. How could he say such a thing?

"What, did I strike a nerve and you’re feeling guilty?" Chu Heng snorted coldly, his expression scornful, his eyes filled with contempt for Lin Yushan.

"Chu Heng, don’t talk nonsense, making things up, distorting right and wrong. We got divorced because you cheated and lied to me in every way possible," Lin Yushan corrected.

"Cut the crap, if it wasn’t for your early hook-up with Huo Chengyi, why would someone as important as him personally come out to help you that day at the Qin Family’s doorstep? And tell me not to come near you again?"

"That was Master Shuyi acting bravely for a just cause."

"Acting bravely for a just cause? Would acting bravely for a just cause involve using vast wealth to threaten me, telling me to divorce you within three days, or else he would completely destroy me, Chu Heng?"

Chu Heng blamed all the grievances he suffered on Lin Yushan.

He believed that everything that had happened to him was Lin Yushan’s fault.

"You’re saying it was Master Shuyi who made you divorce me?" Lin Yushan asked, surprised.

"And here you are still pretending with me. This wasn’t something you two planned and schemed together in advance?" Chu Heng mocked her.

"Chu Heng, I can tell you very clearly, I am not close with Master Shuyi, and there is nothing inappropriate between us, at least so far. During the time our marriage lasted, I, Lin Yushan, did nothing to wrong you," Lin Yushan stated firmly.

Lin Yushan wouldn’t have known anything about it if Chu Heng hadn’t mentioned it.

Huo Chengyi had actually helped her out so much behind the scenes?

Why did he do that? Was it because they had met as children, or was it because she had casually mentioned asking Master Shuyi to relent and agree to treat his son’s pollen allergy?

Lin Yushan felt it was more likely the latter.

Lin Yushan didn’t understand how this man, who was once her husband, could be so shameless as to utter such words.

"My mistake? It’s obviously a trap you two set up! Maybe it was you, Lin Yushan, who found someone else and wanted a divorce, so you deliberately framed me!" Chu Heng snapped back.
