Chapter 62: Chapter 45: Knight Spirit! (4) (Second Update)
"Waa—!" Inside the cave, Jones held Dora and cried loudly, "He is actually a Lich! He is actually a Lich! How can you expect me to believe that a Knight is a Lich? I can’t beat him, I completely can’t beat him!"
"Lord Jones, be good, don’t cry..." Dora gently stroked Jones’s hair.
"He left a soul mark on me. He said that after the battle, he wants me to apologize to Yilin in public, and even write a self-criticism! I’m a member of the Blood Clan, can’t he give me some face? I’m the shame of the Blood Clan, how could this happen... Waa—!"
Jones was sobbing uncontrollably, and Dora stood there stunned, not knowing what to do.
"Didn’t he think about capturing you to threaten the King?"
"He said... he said he wanted to resolve it in a knight’s way," Jones choked as he spoke.
"In a knight’s way... resolve?" Dora couldn’t believe her ears.
...
The wind blew gently, sweeping across the plains.
Under the sunlight, Gray sat quietly on his horse.
Everyone was quietly watching him.
"What are you planning to do?" The Black Cat looked at the dense army and swallowed hard.
Lowering his head, Gray gripped his sword with one hand, and drew a cross on his chest with the other, praying devoutly like all the heroes in stories before battles.
The children imitated his actions.
Everyone was quietly watching him.
"To make this world a better place! For White City! For Yilin! For the oath! Silver Moon Knight Order, forward—!" Pointing his sword forward, Gray shouted loudly.
Stepping forward, sixteen Bone Horses began to move bit by bit, the "knights" each straightening their backs. On the vast plains, the movement was so graceful, it was like they were dancing to a melody.
Everyone was staring blankly.
"Where did this fool come from?" The King snorted and laughed.
"Go, Baron Gray—!" Someone in the crowd shouted, it was that drunkard who asked Gray for money.
The King was shocked, turned his head abruptly, and his face was full of astonishment.
"Go, Baron Gray!"
"Baron Gray! Baron Gray! Baron Gray!"
"Baron Gray—!"
This was an overwhelming roar, the residents of White City waved their fists one after another, shouting the name of the hero in their hearts, or perhaps shouting the name of their own faith.
"Gray—! Gray! Gray!" Shelley released her hold on Count Gruglu and rushed forward, tears streaming down her face.
In the vast world, the sixteen riders moved forward slowly, carrying their beliefs, carrying the hopes of everyone!
If this story has a protagonist, it is Gray. Even though he was a Lich, who said Liches couldn’t be the protagonists of knight stories?
"Change formation—!" The King shouted loudly.
Soon, the entire Golden Armor Knights moved, they changed direction, pointing their blades at Gray.
"Do you think he can win?" the female Angel asked the male Angel.
The male Angel replied softly, "He can’t. Although he is already very strong for a human, forty thousand is too many. Without considering summoning the Undead Army, his magic power will definitely be exhausted."
"Disperse—!" Gray shouted loudly.
The children on either side quickly turned, widening the gap. They extended their battle line to be as long as, if not longer than, the entire line of the Golden Armor Knights.
"What is he doing?" The King was increasingly confused, "Is he trying to surround us?"
Yes, sixteen riders surrounding an army of forty thousand.
"Today, if you don’t apologize to Yilin, no one can leave here!" Gray shouted loudly. So naive, so incomprehensible, yet so heartwarming.
Yilin covered her mouth with her hand, tears streaming down her face, watching and smiling.
Under the gaze of everyone, the sixteen Bone Horses stopped, stepping in place. The children all tightened their reins simultaneously.
Gray raised his sword high, then slowly lowered it, roaring with a voice from his soul, "Silver Moon Knight Order, prepare—! Charge—!"
The sixteen Bone Horses lifted their hooves and began to gallop, drawing a long arc on the vast plains, charging straight at the dense military formations ahead.
Everyone understood this was a charge to death.
But this was also the power of faith, and at this moment, everyone believed. Even the two Angels present believed.
Everyone was dumbfounded, including Yilin, the King, and the Bishop.
Was there anything crazier in this world?
No! The Black Cat thought so too!
"Wait, wait, wait! Holy shit! Are you really starting now? You haven’t even told me your plan to win!"
"I have received the revelation of the Holy Spirit!"
"Revelation of the Holy Spirit, why don’t I know, although I’ve been with you all along?"
"Because the revelation of the Holy Spirit is obscure!"
"Kill!" The King waved his hand, and three thousand Golden Armor Knights charged head-on.
Amidst violent trembling, the children could barely hold onto their reins.
"Boss! I can’t hold on!"
"No, you can! You are members of the Silver Moon Knight Order!"
Just before the two sides met, Gray’s hand holding the sword, the ring on his finger inside his glove, began to emit a soft glow.
Sixteen beams of Holy Light descended from the sky! Yes, Holy Light! Like a miracle, breaking through the clouds, shining on the sixteen riders on their death charge, with points of sparkling Holy Light!
In an instant, the entire world slowed down for the children; they could clearly see the face of every knight on the other side, see their movements, see the trajectory of their longswords.
Power, clearer than ever, flooded their minds!
"Is this... the Great Blessing?" the female Angel slowly widened her eyes.
Yes, the Great Blessing from a Lich!
Shock couldn’t even begin to describe the feelings of everyone present.
What unfolded before their eyes was a real miracle!
Everyone was staring in a daze, everyone! Yilin, the King, the Bishop, Shelley, Count Gruglu, Huoersi, Abi Robbs, Pas, and Mike! The corners of Edward III and Count Caspar’s mouths were twitching violently, their mouths were twitching violently!
"Is this... the Holy Knight?" Someone asked in a low voice from the crowd.
Yes, the Holy Knight! The title belonging to the Holy Court Knights who could wield the power of the Holy Spirit to crush all darkness!
Even inside the Golden Armor Knights, chaos erupted.
Before they could react, sixteen riders had drawn a long arc on the ground and forcefully pierced into the midst of the Golden Armor Knights.
The Bone Horses, capable of performing miraculous maneuvers like the Thomas Flair, were more agile and powerful than any of them. One child even split an iron spear from the front using his sword! An iron spear! Like cutting tofu!
Everyone was terrified.
Fifteen children blessed with the Great Blessing, plus a Lich with triple Gale Technique, triple Shield Technique, and triple Might Technique, along with sixteen frenzied Bone Horses. The formation of the Golden Armor Knights collapsed in an instant!
"My God! Are you crazy? Using holy spells on yourself! Don’t you notice you’re smoking? I’m fucking smoking too!"
Yes, white smoke was already rising from Gray’s body, as well as from the sixteen Bone Horses including Tenidas.
"This isn’t smoke; it’s sublimation! This is the Holy Spirit’s revelation to me!" Gray shouted in the wind.
"You’ll burn yourself to death! Even if you don’t consider yourself, don’t you care about the Bone Horses?"
"Tenidas wants to fight with the Holy Light—!" The Bone Horse neighed.
"Alright, I forgot I’m the only normal one in the entire team." The Black Cat was tearful.
Holy Light, white mist, invincible power, at this very moment, they were like Heavenly Gods descending.
Many residents of White City had already knelt down.
"This is a miracle! Baron Gray comes with the will of the Holy Spirit!"
"This Lich will burn himself to death. Are humans that dumb? Just because he can perform holy spells, they consider it a miracle? They’ll only find a pile of bones in the armor in the end." The male Angel muttered.
"But isn’t that what we told them? Only the just can perform holy spells. When evil shrouds the earth, a hero endowed with the will of the gods will come." The female Angel said softly, lifting herself into the air. In the next moment, she vanished without a trace.
The male Angel was stunned.
"Let me help you." A voice resonated in Gray’s mind.
"Who are you? Is this the voice of the Holy Spirit?" Gray looked up in shock.
"I am Catherine, the messenger of the Holy Spirit. From today onwards, I am your Guardian Angel."
"It’s the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit has heard my prayers?"
"Yes." Catherine replied with a smile.
Gray cheered with joy. If he had tears, he would be crying now.
There was no longer any power that could stop this Lich from embracing the Light.
Behind him, Catherine revealed her true form, a semi-transparent body with massive white wings gently spreading out.
The startling spectacle stunned everyone. Yes, everyone, including the Golden Armor Knights fighting Gray up close.
The Bishop’s eyes widened slowly.
"Oh my God! That’s the Guardian Angel of the Holy Knight!" Someone cried out.
Shelley covered her mouth, tears streaming down in excitement.
Her beloved knight was indeed the most kind-hearted, righteous, noble, and powerful knight in the world!
The cheers that erupted from White City were earth-shattering. Everyone was shouting, everyone was crying with joy.
In that short time, the Golden Armor Knights had scattered, some rolling and crawling away, abandoning the injured, retreating without orders, one after another.
Seeing an Angel appear so close, on the enemy’s side, shattered their last psychological defenses.
Catherine gradually bent her wings, wrapping Gray and the Bone Horse in them, shielding them from the damage caused by the Great Blessing, then disappeared without a trace.
Similar protective shields appeared on the other fifteen Bone Horses as well.
The white smoke gradually faded, leaving behind the unscathed sixteen riders, lined up in formation. Beneath their feet were countless wounded, countless suffering and wailing people.
The members of the Golden Armor Knights looked on in terror, their expressions couldn’t be more complicated.
The King’s eyes twitched violently. They couldn’t be wider.
The battle seemed to have just begun, yet also seemed to have already ended.
In this unjust world, the kind, righteous, and brave once again triumphed!
