The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!
Chapter 118 - 05: Setting Out (5)

Chapter 118: Chapter 05: Setting Out (5)

The entire team was unanimously opposed to Gray accepting the allegiance of a group of dwarves. This included Vivian, Catherine, Black Cat, Andrew, Carl, and even Shelley, because she thought dwarves were just a bunch of oafs, dirty and incredibly crude.

However, Gray still made the decision, and no one could change it.

"I know what you all are saying. But that’s exactly why I decided to accept them. I want to see how people react to a group of dwarves loyal to me who yearn for the divine. Maybe I can change their views over the long journey. After all, they’ll sooner or later have to accept a Lich, won’t they? A Lich is much worse than dwarves. And besides, they don’t seem that bad. Carl even found a Bible in one of Beater’s packs, which means there’s hope for them to become better."

"My God, you actually know that a Lich is worse than a dwarf—this shows you have made some progress in common sense." Black Cat felt quite gratified.

Catherine, who had been silent, sighed.

Vivian was not so optimistic. She widened her eyes, and her face turned pale instantly.

"Wait, you still want to take off your mask? Didn’t the events in Lion King City teach you a lesson? Those people were just fools! You want to change a group of fools? What? You ask why we should find food for the fools? *Cough cough* They are just foolish, but inherently kind, aren’t they? We should help Lion King City through the famine... Alright, you don’t have to say it, I know I’m contradicting myself. Please temporarily ignore my opinion!"

Despite Vivian’s painful inner struggle, the decision was made, and it was final.

The journey was long, and the Silver Moon Knight Order began their interactions with the Dwarf Bandits.

Initially, the relationship between the two sides was extremely poor. Carl always felt that the dwarves were planning to renege on the agreement and flee, and the dwarves... well, they were indeed planning to escape.

Beater gathered all the dwarves in a corner, widened his eyes, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Did you think I was going to surrender? No, I’m just pretending! This is a strategy! A clever trick I came up with! We’ll pretend to obey them, then when they fall asleep at night, we’ll rob them of everything! And give that hypocritical Blood Elf a good beating!"

"Wow, boss, you’re so smart!" The dwarves shouted excitedly, "We get to rob again! I’m so excited!"

"Idiots! Idiots! Idiots!" Beater knocked three heads angrily, "Shh! Calling out so loudly, do you want them all to hear?"

The dwarves were so scared they all covered their mouths.

However, little did they know that the only ones who heard their conversation were not just their own: Gray, Vivian, Catherine, Carl, Jones, and Dora. Well, quite a lot of people knew. After all, they were all non-human creatures.

Luckily, Andrew didn’t hear it, or he would have exploded.

So, they started waiting. They waited for three whole days, and then they discovered that although this team set up camp, they did not sleep.

Not only did they not sleep, but whenever they set up camp, the Silver Moon Knights would surround them. On average, each dwarf was allocated a Silver Moon Knight and a horse. The atmosphere was quite eerie.

Beater soon realized what was going on... Well, actually, after three days, it wasn’t really that soon. So, he found Gray to probe for information.

Gray said something that took everyone by surprise, "How about you toss me an apple? Preferably while doing a belly dance."

When Gray said this, his three external brains fell silent simultaneously.

Beater was dumbfounded, but he still complied. Unexpectedly, it won him enthusiastic applause. Therefore, during the days of waiting for the Undead Knights to sleep, the dwarves gradually immersed themselves in the nightly festivities. After all, the oafish dwarves always managed to come up with all sorts of ideas to entertain the crowd, and a carnival with an audience was undeniably the best. During this long and monotonous journey, even the usually stern Silver Moon Knights began to like these guys.

Well, everyone except for one person: Andrew. Everyone knew that Blood Elves and dwarves were sworn enemies, even if no one exactly knew how that enmity started.

"You know he plans to betray, right?" Black Cat whispered to Gray, who was watching the dwarf performance by the campfire.

"Yes."

"But when he asked why the Silver Moon Knights kept staring at them, you asked him to perform a belly dance? I thought you would reprimand him on the spot."

"I just wanted to change the subject." Gray clapped gently, cheering with the crowd, then whispered to Black Cat, "Reprimanding doesn’t help change anything. The current result isn’t bad, is it? They’re starting to blend in."

"Well, alright, I think you’re making progress. And faster than I expected."

"Really?" After a brief silence, Gray whispered, "I’ve been reflecting on the mistakes I made in Lion King City. *I feel like I still don’t understand human nature, so I need to observe more. If I don’t understand them, how can I influence them?*"

As he said these words, Gray’s mind was quiet. Vivian and Catherine remained silent.

"What’s that dwarf’s name?" Gray pointed to one of the dwarves and asked Beater.

"He’s called Toothy."

"But he doesn’t have front teeth."

"That’s why he’s called Toothy, hahaha!"

Amidst the laughter, the camp’s atmosphere gradually turned harmonious.

Gray clapped gently, humming along with the dwarves’ peculiar song.

Shelley sat beside Gray, smiling happily. Her displeasure at the sudden addition of the dwarves seemed to have passed, and the dim-witted dwarves also seemed to have forgotten their initial plan amidst the laughter.

The road to the Fides Kingdom was long. Although, aside from Shelley, the entire team consisted of non-human creatures, their speed was unparalleled by any human caravan. But still, they traveled for another ten days.

During these ten days, they traveled by day and had all sorts of laughs at night. Given that the team carried little food, the Undead Knights had an additional task at night—hunting.

Every morning, faced with piles of accumulated game, the dwarves were almost moved to tears.

Toothy, holding a pig leg, choked up and said, "They treat us so well, providing food and lodging. Why don’t we give up on betraying them?"

"What are you talking about? Has this little food bought you off?" Beater roared.

"But it’s not a little! It’s a lot!" Bandage said.

"Exactly!" Cross-eye said while gnawing on a chicken neck, "We can’t steal this much food, and it’s tiring."

"The dignity of dwarves! Is this how you sell it out?" Beater was shaking with anger. "How can you be so spineless! So spineless!"

Then, he gave Bandage another beating. Through tears and snot, Bandage persisted, trying hard to finish the pig trotter.

Yes, dwarves were that honest and earnest. Nothing could stop their desire for food, not even bloody heads. They just wanted to lay on a mountain of food for the rest of their lives.

Beater felt his leadership authority was greatly challenged.

Every night, no matter how much game the Undead Knights brought back, the dwarves managed to eat it all by morning, gnawing the bones clean. The key was, they still managed to depart on time. That was pretty impressive.

Seeing this, Shelley was dumbfounded, "How can they eat so much? I feel like we’re feeding fifty pigs at once. No, pigs couldn’t eat as much as they do..."

"She wasn’t saying that when she realized how much you could eat," Black Cat muttered quietly.

In short, that was how things went. The team swayed along the road, eating wherever they went. Wherever they passed, there was commotion, and all prey was swept clean. Soon, the dwarves found that even in the tough days of daily travel, they had gained weight! Yes, they had gained weight! Beater had put on some weight too.

"Boss, are we still betraying them?" A few days later, Bandage asked Beater again.

"Betraying who? What betrayal?" Beater, his mouth full of greasy chicken wings, responded.

All the dwarves looked silently at their dazed leader, then collectively lowered their heads to continue devouring their food.

"Have we successfully subdued them?" Black Cat asked.

Looking at the "battling" dwarves in the distance, Gray responded quietly, "I don’t know, maybe. The essence of observing divine faith is to follow one’s own heart, move forward unwaveringly, burn oneself, and illuminate others. As long as we keep moving forward, we’ll ultimately reach our goal one day."

"Uh... I’ll reserve my opinion on that," Black Cat responded quietly.

In their minds, Vivian was silent, and so was Catherine.

They could faintly sense that Gray was walking on a tightrope—a slight misstep could lead to a crushing fall. But even so, as Guardian Angel and Seductive Demon, there was little they could do.

They might be facing the most resolute Holy Knight in history.

He was continuously learning, continuously progressing, everything could change him, yet nothing seemed able to change him.

Andrew stood not far away, lazily yawning, his gaze filled with disdain as he looked at the distant dwarves.

Time flew by, in the blink of an eye, ten long days had passed, and they finally managed to cross the Casesis Mountains, gazing at the vast plains, and... the armies on those plains.

Yes, armies. And there were two of them.

One flew a black flag, the other a white flag. They were squaring off, hurling insults, seemingly ready to charge at any moment.

Just then, Gray led his fully armed Silver Moon Knight Order and the Dwarf Bandits out of a nearby forest, raising the Silver Moon Banner. Everyone on the plains was dumbfounded simultaneously.
