The Last Gentleman
Chapter 585: Special Record Combat Power

Just as the "Thorny Iron Chains" inside William’s body started trembling,

the footsteps outside the conference room also halted, pausing for three seconds before the door slowly opened.

William had thought it would be a monk in a black rubber suit, disfigured and torturing him on all visible parts of his body to maintain a state of pain.

However, the person who entered was a human,

tall and slender, about one meter ninety-five in height,

dressed in a leather coat that combined a white lab coat and leather jacket, with a circular collar covering the mouth and nose, leaving only two special eyeballs exposed.

The pupils were just a small black dot, the rest all white.

The hair was healthy and quite dense, all white... whether it was caused by disease or torment, one strand of hair hung between the eyes and swung at the raised collar as he walked.

As this person stepped into the conference room, his gaze met William’s.

This was their first meeting, and William was sure this person had never appeared in Zion before.

"William Y. Behrens... right?"

William was suddenly startled, his additional middle name had been defined by the Old World through the paths he completed, yet this person addressed him directly by it.

"Yes, and you are?"

"Feodoro Sergeyevich Asimov."

William immediately searched for the name in his mental library, but even after scouring through all related names in Zion, including those recorded in books he had read, there were no results.

Before William could ask further, the other man had already stepped forward.

"Considering your combining of Iron Chains outside the monastery and your indirect role in the death of several monks, you had been listed as a personal outlaw by the monastery.

However, once it was ascertained that your goal related to the Abyss and had achieved certain effects, contributing positively to the Old World, your name was removed.

I have always been keeping an eye on you, as you’re part of the organization.

It’s impressive how much you’ve achieved in just a year or two."

Dr. Asimov extended his hand as he spoke, and William naturally couldn’t refuse.

When their palms touched, a tingling sensation spread throughout William’s body, causing the Thorny Iron Chains merged in his flesh to resonate superfast.

"Hmm? You’ve even completed the Iron Chains... and combined them so perfectly with your body... your body is even transforming and evolving towards that of an ancient Patient.

Stop by the monastery next time you visit the Old World; I’ll ensure your safety."

"Ah? Dr. Asimov, perhaps we should focus on the matter at hand first?"

"Right, Zion is in trouble now; let’s address the immediate issue first."

This Asimov gave off a strange vibe, seemingly unconcerned about the fall of Zion, returning only because the Chief Doctor had sent a distress signal.

The man seemed very relaxed, yet there was an inexplicable sense of restraint and oppression emanating from him.

During the handshake, William’s Perception also tried to permeate the other’s body, but it was abruptly cut off by a kind of internal surgical knife the instant it tried to infiltrate.

The only thing William could be certain of was that the ’Iron Chain Level’ within the other was far above his own.

At that moment, the purple-suited, vigorously old First Doctor stretched his right arm towards this tardy mysterious gentleman, "Cough! It’s likely that many present, especially the gentlemen from outside the central hospital, have neither seen nor heard of Dr. Asimov.

He is the gentleman with the highest achievements in the medical field within our organization, superior in both surgical and medical procedures to this old bone of mine and, like Hogni Zed, the current First Gentleman Galon, he is also listed as ’Special Record Combat Power,’ a special individual by the Organization.

He is primarily active in the Source Epidemic Area - Painful Monastery in the Old World, and due to the monastery’s exceptionally strict restrictions on individuals, he rarely returns to the organization.

"Asimov, introduce yourself briefly."

"Elder, haven’t you already introduced me sufficiently? Let’s get straight to the point. It wasn’t easy to take leave from the Monastery, and every second is incredibly precious."

"Alright, let’s start the meeting then.

Before we finalize a robust plan to retake it, we need to meet an essential prerequisite. We need to figure out approximately how many Patients there are inside Zion, especially the total number of Silver Circle Patients.

It has been four months since we evacuated Zion, and it is entirely possible that they have transported more powerful individuals there, using Zion as a base to establish a colony.

After all, once the world is completely infected, there will be no barriers between the Old World and us, and establishing a colony in advance is very important to them.

Moreover, these blood citizens are remnants of war, desperately seeking an opportunity to rise again.

If there are more than ten Silver Circle Patients inside Zion, with multiple ’Seven Marquis’ present, and even support from the Skin Bag Apostle, our plan to retake it would be no different from committing suicide."

Therefore, before developing the plan, Zion needs to be effectively scouted.

The proposed plan is to have Principal Desline at the center and draw a Sensing Array ten kilometers from Zion, with multiple Prophets assisting jointly to perform a mental scan of Zion.

However, there is a certain risk involved, as the blood citizens could have built adequate shielding barriers in the four months, leading to a failed sensing attempt, or even severe mental backlash.

Does anyone here have a better scouting plan?

"For example, Asimov, could you use your monk identity to inspect the blood citizens?"

"Impossible, searches have to follow rules, we need a search warrant issued by the Monastery... These blood citizens are quite cunning; without a search warrant, they would see through it immediately."

Just as he finished speaking, William raised his hand.

"Let me try... I should be able to get a clear idea of the current situation in Zion without being noticed, I just need a little cooperation from Principal Desline."

"How certain are you?" first queried Doctor Araus, without asking for the specific plan, but rather the success rate.

"Over 80%."

"How much time will it take?"

"I can get it done within a day, and if we’re lucky, we can continue the meeting tonight and officially formulate the retake plan."

"Are you sure you’re not joking with me?"

"I wouldn’t joke at such an important assembly."

"Go then~ I’ll wait for your good news, young man."

"Okay."

William gave Desline a look, and then... click~ there was a twisting sound from his ankle joint, and the William sitting there disappeared, the large door ten meters away simultaneously opening a gap.

This situation quieted the meeting room suddenly.

"Elder, you’re letting him go without even asking about the specific plan?"

"It’s enough to know his success rate is high enough."

At this point, Jin, sitting across, swung his legs onto the table: "Don’t worry~ William’s capabilities are very high. He is directly connected to the infamous Fear Circus of the Old World, being one of its chief members.

Moreover, as this new doctor just said, William is involved with the Abyss; just leave it to him and we’ll just wait for his good news.

By the way, you’re Asimov, right? Since you’re a skilled doctor, your suture skills must also be quite good... could you help me fix this armor?"

Jin then slammed a woven bag onto the table.

Asimov looked at the skin leather armor scattered over the table, "Honored Tumor Knight, huh... haha! Zion’s talents just keep increasing. This trip back is truly going to be interesting."
