The Last Commander of the Red Alert
Chapter 800: Behind the Beauty, Cruelty Lurks! (3…)

ALL NOVELS' LIST | Chapter List: The Last Commander of the Red Alert XXX-----XXX-----XXX-----XXX Su Chen didn't care much about being disco

Su Chen didn't care much about being discovered, especially since it was only Fang Yuer.

If she claimed that a human could make a thunderstorm disappear with just a snap of the fingers, it would probably be considered a joke if spread outside.

The world believed in only science; individual strength had not really developed. Fang Yuer herself was skeptical, half-believing and half-doubting. If Su Chen hadn't rejected her earlier, she wouldn't have paid attention to his actions.

"Are you... admitting it?" Fang Yuer felt her heart pounding. It wasn't the feeling of infatuation but fear!

She worried that he might kill to keep the secret, as discovering such a thing could mean stumbling upon a significant secret. In movies, those who uncovered secrets often met swift ends.

Su Chen smirked, "When did I admit it? It's not your fault to have fantasies, but confusing them with reality—that's your problem."

With that, Su Chen walked away.

Chiguang City seemed no different from other cities, more or less the same. Across the planet, green plants were scarce. Even the first city with a large lawn was considered wealthy. Chiguang City, however, appeared impoverished. Not just lacking greenery, even the surrounding buildings gave Su Chen a sense of weathering, with peeling walls.

"Why did Libra come to Chiguang City? Did she find a way back here?"

Following the routine, he reached the wealthiest area of Chiguang City, easily finding Libra's location. However, what he didn't expect was to find Libra farming.

Su Chen felt like the scene was off. Libra was a princess of Yuri, a powerhouse with psychic powers. Yet, here she was, farming. Can you believe it?

Soon, Su Chen arrived at the outskirts of the city, an area with old houses where few chose to live. However, Libra was there.

In an instant, Su Chen appeared in front of Libra. She was stunned, not expecting the Commander to appear before her.

"If I didn't come, Yun Ru would have skinned me alive," Su Chen chuckled.

"Yun Ru wouldn't do that, and I didn't expect this situation to arise either." Libra, with a guilty expression, lowered her head.

If she hadn't insisted on going to the Milky Way, none of this would have happened. She felt responsible for the Commander coming to the past to take her back.

She didn't think going back to the past was fun. What if they accidentally changed history? Altered history would affect the future, possibly even the Red Alert Empire, something Libra wanted to avoid.

"Where did you go wrong? Everything you did was for the Red Alert Empire. As Commander, I can only commend you, not blame you."

Su Chen glanced around and asked curiously, "What are you doing here?"

"Commander should know some details about this planet, right? Due to past events, green plants are extremely scarce across the entire planet. Some people may go their whole lives without seeing a living green plant. So, I wanted to try and see if I could cultivate some green plants here, a final gift for this planet."

Libra arrived on this planet more than a year before Su Chen. During this time, she witnessed both beautiful and cruel scenes. The utopian world seemed beautiful on the surface, but there were still many dark corners behind the scenes that couldn't be avoided.

The scarcity of green plants led to high market prices, prompting some to take risks and engage in illegal trade. Libra had personally killed some of these people, but it was only a temporary solution; the problem persisted.

Later, Libra came up with an idea: if green plants were abundant everywhere on the planet, the industry around them would naturally disappear because they wouldn't be valuable anymore.

However, something had changed on the planet, making it extremely difficult for green plants to thrive. Even if they survived, it might not be for long. According to rough estimates, the global count of green plants was decreasing every second. At this rate, the entire planet would soon be devoid of green plants.

Before leaving, Libra wanted to help the planet a bit. She thought it was just a small thing that wouldn't have much impact.

Little Beast had no objections and stayed with Libra. Fortunately, Libra had brought many things in the space she carried, including some plant seeds.

"Have there been any results in your research?"

"Basically, it's almost there. Through my research, I found that the main reasons green plants can't survive are insufficient light and excessively high oxygen levels."

As Libra was about to continue discussing her research with the Commander, her expression suddenly turned cold. Someone was approaching.

"Commander, I'll go handle something."

Su Chen was intrigued. He recognized the person outside.

"I'll come too."

They reached the gate, and Fang Yuer, while looking at the area and comparing it with a note in her hand, seemed to be reading an address.

"Professor Libra, I was recommended by Professor Yang Qing. I want to learn botany from you... Oh! Why are you here?"

Fang Yuer was shocked when she saw Su Chen standing next to Libra. Su Chen was also surprised; Fang Yuer had come to learn botany from Libra. What was going on?

Seeing the puzzled look from the Commander, Libra felt a bit embarrassed. "Commander, when I was on this planet, I unintentionally became a professor and taught some basic botany. Is that okay?"

Su Chen chuckled, "It's fine, just some knowledge of botany."

If Libra started teaching advanced technology to the people on this planet, that might cause problems.

"You're the one recommended by Yang Qing? I remember she used to bite her nails a lot. Has she changed that habit?"

Fang Yuer looked a bit strange, "Professor Libra, I've been with Professor Yang Qing for several months and have never seen her bite her nails. Are you sure you remember correctly?"

"Hmm, it seems you're not an impostor. Come in."

Fang Yuer's mouth twitched. She realized Libra had been testing her earlier, afraid that she might be an imposter.

Then she looked at Su Chen, "Professor, why is this person here?"
