Ruan Jiaojiao read with deep emotion and flourish, but this time her partner was Xiu Xi. A large and a small, a boy and a girl, both with delicate features, they stood out amongst the many students.

Just then, the principal and others happened to be inspecting outside their classroom and couldn’t help but stop in their tracks to look over.

Ruan Jiaojiao, with her head down looking at the book, didn’t notice the crowd that had suddenly appeared at the door, while Xiu Xi, sensitive to the sharp gazes, took advantage of a break to glance up.

The onlookers were clearly taken aback by his green eyes, but they didn’t show much on their faces, except for a flash of surprise in their eyes.

Zhao Li brightened when she saw her.

"Jiaojiao, come here quickly."

"Godmother," Ruan Jiaojiao ran over with a smile.

"Eh, are you going to have lunch, Jiaojiao?" Zhao Li asked. She stooped down tenderly to straighten the hair by Jiaojiao’s ear. Noticing Lu Zishu sulking at the side, she suddenly became furious "Now you are even more audacious, not even calling out to me when you see me?"

"Mom." Lu Zishu called out impatiently and then urged Ruan Jiaojiao "Let’s go eat. Otherwise, there won’t be any dishes left."

"You little-" Seeing Ruan Jiaojiao, Zhao Li’s heart softened, but looking at her own child, she couldn’t help feeling infuriated and gave him a stern glance, "Go on then, it’s annoying just to look at you." She then whispered to Ruan Jiaojiao "Just bear with it a few more days. Once godmother’s friend leaves, I’ll bring you lunch every day. It’s really pitiful; you’ve lost so much weight."

"..." Lu Zishu rolled his eyes dramatically.

Ruan Jiaojiao obediently nodded her head, said goodbye to Zhao Li, and followed a few older boys toward the canteen.

But they hadn’t gone far when they heard a commotion from behind.

Curious, Ruan Jiaojiao looked back and saw once again those long legs that drew everyone’s attention.

Following those long legs upward, though the distance was quite far, she could still make out that the owner of the long legs had striking good looks.

Perhaps her stare was too focused because he seemed to feel it and also looked her way.

Then Zhao Li followed his gaze and looked over, her eyes brightening as she pointed at her, her expression as proudly as ever.

Ruan Jiaojiao gave them a big smile before turning her gaze away.

But in her mind, she kept replaying the image of those long legs, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that he looked familiar. She tried hard to remember where she had seen him before, wondering if it was someone from the memories she had inherited, but she couldn’t recall at the moment.

It wasn’t until she was in the canteen, with a tray of plentiful food in front of her, that she suddenly realized who he was and where she had seen him!
