Ruan Jiaojiao had no idea she’d become the object of envy for no apparent reason. When Xiu Xi asked her to stand to one side and not move while eating snacks, she obediently did just that, and once he was finished, she happily skipped off to play outside the classroom.

Today’s major cleaning involved the whole school, so students from other classes were also cleaning. She sat alone under the shade of a tree, leisurely munching on her snacks and watching the scene.

From the third floor, Ruan Feng noticed her and, worried she might not have enough to eat, jogged down to give her some more snacks before running back to continue cleaning.

When Hu Lanzhi came out of the office with a letter in hand, she was met with this scene, and couldn’t help but smile wryly.

Approaching, she asked, "Student Jiaojiao, everyone is tidying up, why are you sitting here?"

Ruan Jiaojiao immediately stood up and replied, "Teacher, I’ve already finished mine." She then tilted her head curiously, glancing at the envelope in Hu’s hand.

Nodding at her response, Hu Lanzhi didn’t ask what she had done but instead handed over the letter, saying, "This is for you, it was sent from Beidu."

"For me?" Ruan Jiaojiao was surprised. Why would she receive a letter from Beidu?

Last year, to facilitate their business, the Ruan Family’s restaurant had installed a telephone. Grandpa Shu would always call directly to the shop whenever there was something, and had stopped sending letters. Shu Wen and Shu Lang also made phone calls instead of writing.

Who could be sending her a letter at this time?

Overflowing with curiosity, Ruan Jiaojiao’s face lit up with a smile as soon as she saw the handwriting. It was from her big brother in Beidu! She recognized his writing.

Included were three photos: one of the Qing University gate, another of him standing at the entrance, and a third with him and Grandpa Shu standing together at the gate.

Ruan Hao was not the type to show off or take photos, so Ruan Jiaojiao knew he must have taken these pictures specifically for the family to see.

She held the photos, looking at them over and over, reluctant to put them down.

In the past, though Ruan Hao was a high school student and she could see him only once a month, he was still nearby, and she could visit him whenever she wanted. But now it was different. He had gone to Beidu, and even though it had been just over a month, Ruan Jiaojiao felt an especially strong sense of missing him.

"Big brother is so cool," Little Fatty said, his eyes filled with admiration as he looked at the shining name of the university. "I’m going to study at Qing University too, and take a photo right here."

"That’s the spirit! As long as you work hard, you’ll definitely have a chance," Hu Lanzhi hadn’t walked away yet and immediately encouraged him with a smile upon hearing his words.

Most of the other students had also finished their cleaning, and seeing the group around the class teacher and Ruan Lei, talking about universities and such, they also began to drift over towards them.
