Jiaojiao, on the other hand, loved listening to this. She beamed under Zhao Li’s flattery, which left Lu Zishu tongue-tied, and then, after receiving a slap from Zhao Li, he finally finished his meal.

After dinner, there was a thirty-minute break. Boarders had to take a bath during this time, and then at 7:10 PM, evening self-study began, with two forty-minute sessions and a ten-minute break in between. Evening self-study ended at 8:40 PM, followed by lights out and bedtime at 9:20 PM.

Classes hadn’t officially started yet; evening self-study was really just a period for new students to acclimatize. Jiaojiao usually went to bed after 8:30 PM at home, so by the end of the second session, she was unbearably sleepy.

The homeroom teacher, Hu Lanzhi, had been sitting at the back of the podium the whole time, almost completely witnessing Jiaojiao’s struggle against sleepiness. She felt a mix of sympathy and helplessness, and by the end of class, she was actually relieved.

In the last few minutes before class ended, she had already instructed the students to wash up and go straight to bed once they got back to the dormitories, so when the bell rang, all the students excitedly stood up and rushed out in a swarm.

But Jiaojiao and Xiu Xi did not move from their seats, neither did Little Fatty, who sat at the back.

Hu Lanzhi looked at them, somewhat puzzled.

Then, after most of the students had left the classroom, Xiu Xi finally stood up from his chair, walked around, and then crouched down beside Jiaojiao.

Groggily, Jiaojiao climbed onto his back. Little Fatty carefully supported her from behind, and without any spoken words, the three of them acted in perfect unison.

Hu Lanzhi sighed, unsure of what to say.

She walked over to them, and seeing Jiaojiao was completely asleep, she instinctively lowered her voice, "Go ahead, the teacher will walk you out of the school gate."

Hearing this, Hu Lanzhi didn’t say anything more, but inside she was surprised. Of course, she knew they weren’t biological siblings, but cousins, yet she hadn’t expected the cousins to be so close.

As they walked out of the classroom, Lu Zishu had already been waiting for a while. He was about to complain impatiently when he saw them emerge, but upon seeing Jiaojiao’s sleeping face, he quietly shut his mouth, and the group headed towards the school exit.
