Chapter 618: Chapter 618: College Entrance Exam Top Scorer (5)_1

Many people had offered to set him up, but Jiandang had never been really interested. He was focused on raising his boys, especially since Jun would be taking the college entrance exam next year. He didn’t want his own affairs to distract his son, so he kept turning down all introductions, just working and taking care of his kids.

Since they lived close to the main house, whenever Jiandang couldn’t get back from the restaurant, Wei would stay with the members of the main house. After all, Hao and Jie’s rooms were always empty. This was one of the reasons Wei’s grades had improved dramatically, even earning him fifth place in the exams this year.

Now, the Ruan family’s main house was holding a banquet that couldn’t be accommodated in just the building, so it was set up in Jiandang’s courtyard.

There were many guests. Over the past two years, Jiandang had met many businesspeople through his dealings with Lu Zhiwei, and he also had a number of regular customers at the restaurant with whom he had a good relationship. Shu Jiao also had her fair share of guests, including those from the school and others with even a slight connection to Old Master Shu, all taking the opportunity to network. Thus, there were over thirty tables set up, thankfully in the countryside, there was nothing but space.

Shu Wen had also arrived at the Ruan family a few days earlier, as she was on summer break.

Shu Lang was busy with work and couldn’t get away, and it seemed Old Master Shu had some issues to deal with lately and couldn’t make it either. However, he had sent a generous gift for Hao, promising to give it to him when he reached Beidu.

On the day of the banquet, apart from the Ruan family’s guests, Hao had quite a few classmates come over to celebrate. Jiaojiao peeked inside the room and saw a bustling crowd, roughly about ten people.

Shu Jiao and the Ruanlin matriarch were both extremely busy, and even Shu Wen rolled up her sleeves to help. Jiaojiao volunteered to carry slices of watermelon and candies upstairs, although the water was too heavy, so Xiu Xi carried it.

Jiaojiao was dressed beautifully today. Her skin was naturally fair and delicate. Now, in her bubble dress and with a clean ponytail, she looked fresh and bursting with youth.

Hao was graduating from high school at eighteen, making him one of the younger ones in his class, while others, due to starting school later, were usually over twenty.

When they suddenly saw such a tender, delicate girl come up, all the classmates couldn’t help but turn their gaze toward her.

Jiaojiao immediately flashed a sweet smile and said, "Hello, brothers and sisters, Mom asked Jiaojiao to bring you some fruit and candy, and there’s also water."

"Oh my, where did this little fairy come from? Hao, is this that sister you always talk about, your sister Jiaojiao?" Among the group of students, one particularly lively boy jumped up from the sofa and exclaimed.

Hao didn’t answer right away; instead, he walked to the doorway, took the plate from Jiaojiao’s hands, and then held her small hand to check it hadn’t been strained red. Only after confirming it was fine, did he carry the plate with one hand and lead her in with the other.

And, smiling, he introduced her to his classmates, "This is my sister, Ruan Jiaojiao."

"Hello, brothers and sisters, I’m Ruan Jiaojiao," Jiaojiao said again, smiling sweetly.

"Hello, little sister, I’m your brother’s good friend. My name is You Zhipeng, you can just call me Brother Peng," said the lively student who had jumped earlier, captivated by Jiaojiao’s sweet, tender demeanor, and felt an itch to pat her head.

But before his hand could reach her, Hao swatted it away, which caused the other classmates to burst into laughter.
