Chapter 611: Chapter 611 Graduation (8)_1

Three years had passed since those past events, and perhaps life was too beautiful, for Ruan Jiaojiao had almost forgotten the fears and grudges of the past. She turned and grabbed a handful of candy from the burlap bag Xiu Xi was holding and handed it over.

Wa Yiting looked at her and, after a few seconds, accepted it.

"Thank you."

"You’re welcome."

And with that, they went their separate ways.

Perhaps because of their lack of interaction, or perhaps because of what Shu Jiao had said back then, Wa Yiting’s view of Ruan Jiaojiao had long since changed; she no longer harbored her former sentiments.

As she grew older, she understood a truth.

Even if Ruan Jiaojiao died, she would never become her, and the Ruan Family would never shower her with the love they had for Ruan Jiaojiao.

She was Wa Yiting, and she would always be Wa Yiting; there would never be a day where she could become Ruan Jiaojiao. No matter how much she envied, hated, or coveted, she couldn’t turn those feelings into reality.

The entire school had only twelve teachers, including the principal.

When Ruan Jiaojiao entered the teachers’ office, more than ten teachers were discussing her and Xiu Xi.

Especially Ruan Jiaojiao, who was only eight years old but was almost seen as a genius child in the eyes of these teachers. The Ruan Family knew how to get along with people, and Ruan Jiaojiao herself was both clever and obedient; there wasn’t a teacher who didn’t like her.

When they saw her enter, they all looked over and teased with smiles, "Has our school’s little genius come? Quick, let the teacher touch your little hand, so I can bring some good luck home to my kid."

Ruan Jiaojiao smiled too, calling out to them one by one, then began handing out candy to the teachers.

She was beautiful, sweet-talking, and young; everything she said seemed heartfelt, which so delighted the teachers that they couldn’t stop smiling.

As she walked ahead, handing out candy, Xiu Xi closely followed right behind.

The school’s teachers had grown accustomed to this pair, not finding anything unusual but rather seeing them as harmonious.

When she reached the fifth-grade teacher, Ruan Jiaojiao saw Xiu Xun, who was bending over the table, busy transcribing grades.

Xiu Xun, eleven now, had grown quite a bit taller. Over the years, he had been working at the Ruan Family’s restaurant, working during the winter and summer breaks, giving half of his earnings to his foster parents and using the rest to cover his school fees.

The food at the restaurant was good, and he was not mistreated; he had developed well, though he was still a bit shorter than Xiu Xi. His features were handsome, hinting at his future charm.

In these past years, given her friendship with Xiu Xi and the advice from Shu Jiao, Ruan Jiaojiao had little to do with Xiu Xun, feeling somewhat strange and distant upon seeing him now.

She smiled first and then turned to grab a handful of candy, placing it on the table in front of him.

"Xiu Xun, here’s some candy for you."

"Thank you," Xiu Xun glanced at her, then shifted his gaze back and continued transcribing grades, his attitude somewhat aloof.

Ruan Jiaojiao shrugged her small shoulders and continued walking forward, not noticing the grip on Xiu Xun’s pen progressively tightening.

It wasn’t until she had handed out all the candy and left the classroom that Xiu Xun finally raised his head, looked at the candy before him, picked it up, unwrapped a piece and popped it in his mouth, then put the rest into his pocket.

As Ruan Jiaojiao left the office with Xiu Xi and walked down the corridor, she suddenly thought of something and turned her head to look at the handsome youth by her side.

"Brother Xi, you’ve changed a lot."

In the past, her little friend would get angry and act difficult if she was even slightly close to Xiu Xun, but not anymore.

Indeed, he had grown up and become sensible.
