Chapter 590: Chapter 590 Shu Wen (6)_1
The girl’s eyes sparkled with excitement, and she ran out from the courtyard. Ruan Jiaojiao hadn’t yet gotten a clear look at her when she felt a door beside her open, and then she was engulfed in a fragrant embrace—oh, such a soft and cushiony hug.
Next came two big, affectionate kisses planted on her little cheeks.
"Jiaojiao, Jiaojiao, do you know who I am?" After giving her two hearty kisses and satisfying her craving, the girl finally loosened her embrace a bit so Jiaojiao could get a good look at her.
If Shu Jiao was the knowledgeable and sensible lady, exuding a scholarly aura and unmistakably from a family of literary tradition,
Then Shu Wen was like the blazing sun, passionate and unrestrained, vibrant with vitality. One glimpse of her, and you’d be drawn in unconsciously, becoming assimilated by her warmth.
Ruan Jiaojiao almost instantly took a liking to her from the very first glance, and with a beaming smile, she called out, "Auntie!"
"Eh, my precious big baby!" Shu Wen was overjoyed, giving Ruan Jiaojiao more kisses, one on each side, "My Little Jiaojiao recognizes me!"
Then, still holding her excitedly, she turned to Shu Jiao at the back and exclaimed, "Sis, did you see that? Jiaojiao recognizes me, hahaha."
Shu Jiao was greeting the driver inside the car. After finishing, she saw Xiu Xi carrying a small gift box as he got out of the car and watched the driver drive away. Hearing Shu Wen’s words, she looked up with a smile and playfully scolded, "She’s your niece—if she doesn’t remember you, whom would she remember?"
"Alright, don’t stand outside like a fool; let’s go inside."
"Ok." Shu Wen couldn’t stop her laughter. Even though Jiaojiao’s weight was truly a bit much for her, she was unwilling to put her down. Despite the strain, she held onto her and went into the courtyard.
Inside, Shu Lang, Ruan Jianguo, and Grandfather Shu were talking about something. When they saw the group enter, they immediately stopped their conversation.
"Why are you carrying her? Be careful not to drop her," Grandfather Shu scolded as he watched her struggling to hold Ruan Jiaojiao, who looked as though she might fall at any moment.
Shu Lang walked over quickly and took Ruan Jiaojiao into his arms.
Shu Wen was still so excited, not minding Grandfather Shu’s scolding at all. Instead, she said with excitement, "Dad, bro, Jiaojiao actually recognizes me! She really does, hahaha, it must be the magic of blood ties. My sweet darling is so lovable." As she spoke, she leaned in and kissed Ruan Jiaojiao’s cheek again.
"..." Shu Lang.
"..." Grandfather Shu.
One was at first not acknowledged, the other was mistaken for a child trafficker.
Hearing Shu Wen’s words, their expressions momentarily froze.
"Shu Wen, didn’t you buy a lot of gifts for Jiaojiao? Where are the gifts?" Shu Lang asked.
"Yes, bring them out; let’s see," Grandfather Shu said.
Both skillfully skirted around the topic.
"The gifts should arrive the day after tomorrow; I couldn’t carry them myself, so I had them shipped," Shu Wen replied, turning her head to Ruan Jiaojiao, "Jiaojiao, your auntie bought you so, so many gifts. Aren’t you excited?"
"Yes, excited," Ruan Jiaojiao smiled, hugging Shu Lang’s neck, her eyes squinting joyfully.
She was truly happy, not because of the gifts, but because of this grand reunion. Seeing all those she cared about alive and well, together, laughing and fooling around—she was happier than she could have been with any number of gifts.
