Chapter 350: Chapter 350: Going to the Market (3)_1
The kitten was clearly skinnier than the others from the same litter, and she wasn’t even sure whether she could keep it alive, but since Jiaojiao wanted it, she went along with her wish.
And so, after a trip to the market, the Ruan Family acquired an orange cat named Sanmao.
After the market, the family proceeded to the cooperative, where they purchased paper, pens, and other stationery before hurrying back home before noon.
However, they hadn’t reached home yet; Ruan Jianguo, cycling on the main road, saw from a distance that a crowd had gathered again in front of his house.
He frowned. What was going on now?
Even if Lu Zhiwei had come again, the villagers should have grown tired of his motorcycle by now, right?
With such suspicions, Ruan Jianguo rode his bike up to the front door. As the sound of his bike reached them, the crowd dispersed. Li Shu from next door hurried over, an excited expression on his face as he said, "Big Brother Ruan, you have a distinguished guest at home!"
A distinguished guest?
Ruan Jianguo got off his bike, parked it properly, and only then, as the onlookers dispersed, did he see a car parked in front of his house.
A car!
There were only a handful of cars in the entire town! Even a family like Lu Zhiwei’s, who could walk around the town with their heads high, hadn’t talked about buying a car.
The onlookers looked at the Ruan Family with different eyes now.
Mrs. Ruanlin, coming out of the back of the tricycle, was also stunned by the sight of the car. Her family didn’t have such well-off relatives.
"Jianguo, you’re really something, with your house being the first in the village to have multiple stories, and now you even have a friend who drives a car. That’s really impressive!" As they looked at Ruan Jianguo, the villagers all gave him a thumbs-up.
Ruan Jianguo could only respond with a polite smile, harboring doubts in his heart.
Ruan Jie, on the other hand, was excitedly circling the car. It was his first time seeing a car in person; previously, he’d only seen them in textbooks. He reached out, wanting to touch it, but afraid of causing damage, he could only look at Ruan Jianguo with anticipation, "Dad, is this your friend?"
Ruan Jianguo didn’t answer but simply ruffled his son’s hair before walking ahead to open the gate. The crowd behind subconsciously wanted to follow in, but Mrs. Ruanlin’s glance was enough to quell that thought, and they awkwardly made way for the family to enter first.
As Ruan Jianguo pushed open the gate, their dog Meatball eagerly bounded up to him. He glanced at the dog and then his gaze landed on the person standing with his back to him in the main hall.
That person stood right in the center of the main hall, facing the memorial tablet of Ruan Manchuang, in a crisp suit, quite tall, with his hands clasped behind his back.
Ruan Hao stood beside him, half a head shorter, apparently laughing and talking to the man. Upon hearing the door open, he looked over immediately.
"Dad! Grandma!"
At Ruan Hao’s call, the standing man turned around.
Jiaojiao, holding Sanmao, stood beside Mrs. Ruanlin and stared at the man who turned around. Her eyes widened in surprise because this man bore a striking resemblance to Ruan Hao.
Ruan Hao, who didn’t resemble Ruan Jianguo much, led her to suspect that he might look like Shu Jiao.
Ruan Hao had a quality about him that his other brothers lacked—a handsome appearance, not just ordinary handsome, but with an elegance and nobility not found in common folk.
If he were in ancient times, he would probably have been on the level of a noble scion from a prestigious family, and of the highest order at that.
And this person before them now seemed to be an adult version of Ruan Hao, sharing the same noble elegance. His gaze was now calmly settling on them.
