The current economic condition of Sestia was so bad that the certain areas had increased the tax rates creating a struggle into the kingdom.

In those circumstances, a certain merchant guild named Azurlite had picked pace and hoarded the grains and other amenities. In short, they gained the upperhand on the nobles and now the nobles were falling over each other to make a deal with the guild to keep themselves from falling.

However, the guild didn’t seem to be doing anything except for waiting. They haven’t formed any connection with any of the nobles including the summons of the monarchs. Nobody knew who the leader of the guild was or where they were.

The nobles were in such chaos that they were facing the situation close to civil ward in their territories and the new revolutionary movement was starting.

A lot of people were in unrest. One would imagine what kind of destruction it would be if there was a civil ward in the nation which is already at war with another nation.

[Giver of Gifts shudders at the aspect of such destruction.]

[Goddess of Wisdom reminds you that in order to prevent such destruction you were summoned to this world.]

"Wrong," I spoke up as I sat on the concrete railing swinging my legs.

"I was summoned here to stop this world from destroying because of ’it’ and I don’t think the destruction you’re talking about is it."

I looked up at the full moon in the sky and the stars that illuminated the night.

"I’m never reckless," I corrected.

"It’s like I’ve put the water into the pot with a lid on it and am flaming it. As the water boils the pressure builds and as much as the pressure will rise, it will go past the boiling point will throw away the lid. In other words, the growing tension will throw away the power that holds them down and it will be quite fun to see the nobles and monarchs at that ime."

If it wasn’t obvious then Azurlite was the guild formed by Ace D’Arc and he had the authority over the amenities and the nation’s current economy. Over the four years that I spent I had building Ace’s power as well and continued bringing the situation to this boiling point.

"If you want peace then you should always be ready for a war." I said.

"And also, it’s not like I’m letting the weak suffer. I haven’t increased the tax rates in my territory and even those under my wing haven’t so, I am protecting those who chose me."

[Goddess of Wisdom warns you that if you make any mistake and cause chaos then you will face the consequences decided by the system.]

I sighed, "You all chose me to save this world. I’m your last chance and you have put your bets on me. So, trust me. You have spend so much time with me so, you know that I don’t do anything without any plan, right?"

I spoke as I reached out and brushed Nox’s feathers making him hoot.

[Goddess of Wisdom sighs.]

"Isn’t it obvious?" I asked.

"Augustine has sent a formal invitation to Prince Eric who had a duel with Prince Arian. The talks of peace treaty will start with Prince Eric as the one who will act as a representative. Prince Carlos has no say because he was defeated in front of a lot of witnesses, he has no credibility."

This would surely make the Golden Serpent lose her mind but it would be worth it.

Within a couple of days the Eric will be in the capital of Denril, Florian and there in the royal palace of Denril he will talk with Augustine about this peace treaty.

[Goddess of Wisdom asks if the King of Sestia won’t create any trouble regarding this.]

"He won’t, I had Eric send him a letter regarding this. And my sources at the palace confirmed today that he received it."

With the condition of the nation he wouldn’t dare give priority to his pride over peace. He would have to accept this decision or he would have to face the civil war and the ultimate defeat in the war he waged.

"I had also asked Grandfather’s help in this, as Eric mentor he would put his word in the royal court with the support of the nobles on our side. With the power balance tilting now the King and Queen will have no say."

"It’s check mate for Roger and the Golden Serpent." I chuckled.

The first defeat that they would face and from hence they would be on the streak of losing especially the Golden Serpent aka Katherine.

I sighed running my hand through my hair. Nox whooted and I couldn’t help but wonder, of there was anyone in this world who could stand beside me. A Dragon who was invincible and had only two paths in future.

One to be destroyed in the war that was only eight years away and the second was the life of immortality if I survived the war.

Who would be able to keep up?

"Oi, you just pushed this world’s rescue below my marriage on the priority list." I reminded her.

"You guys are having fun playing house, huh?" I said.

It wasn’t like I hadn’t thought about marriage, I would have to show that I was engaged to someone soon enough as the Golden Serpent or any other noble would try to use me as a bait in order to gain some leverage over my father who was now a formidable person in the social world.

He had power, wealth and a stable territory so, in these hard times he would be pressured to find a match for me. If I wouldn’t show a viable person then I asked Reina would end up in a troublesome situation.

I was excused from getting into trouble in case of Ocean because I was a man with a burned face and also because I had an heir but Reina’s case was different. She would need a man’s name, however, annoying it seemed it was the way to deal with this smoothly.

I would have to choose a man soon in order to put him in the front while I continued doing my work from the shadows as smoothly as ever.

The man who will marry me would have to deal with all this and also sadly enough for him, he might never be my first priority.
