Chapter 196: 195. Take It To Your Grave (3)

I shot through the air in the direction where Davian’s cantonment was located, Lady Dahlia had her arms wrapped around my neck. She looked down staring at the top of the trees and then at the birds which were at the same height.

"How are you able to fly? Do you have the Dragon’s wings?" She asked.

"Yes," I lied.

"Then how were you able to control us while jumping down from that cliff?" She asked.

"Mana control, telekinesis." I answered.

"Telekinesis?"

"Yes, I have learned to control mana." I answered.

She stared at me, "You have also inherited the magic from your Mother’s side."

I hummed, "What about your father’s side?"

"I have Frost magic as well." I answered.

Her eyes went wide, "I... haven’t heard of a person having more than one trait and you... have not one or two but three..."

"I’m a rare case who have inherited the mana from both my mother’s and my father’s side," I answered her, "It’s also the reason why for majority of my life I was trapped in my house with a body that was unable to handle so much mana."

"And you’re completely fine now?"

"As you can see."

"Was it because of the Dragon’s bloodline?" She asked.

"Maybe."

I lowered a little as I spotted the cantonment with the flag of Frosthail’s insignia and Lady Dahlia turned her head.

"I shall let you down near the tent and wait till you’re done talking."

"Won’t you at least talk with him?"

"He’s focused on the war, Your Grace I can’t have a talk with him while he’s fulfilling his duty."

"You can at least-"

"Apologies but, we are here," I said and gestured towards Davian’s tent which was in view. I landed softly on the forest floor and let her down gently.

"When you are done talking please whistle, my ears are sharp so, I will hear it even if it’s a very low sound."

"You can just stay here, if you don’t want to come." She said.

"I can’t afford to be seen, Your Grace and neither can you so, please hurry."

I kept holding her hand to keep the invisibility spell on as we walked over to the largest tent which looked a bit different than the others and also from where I sensed Davian’s aura.

I peeked inside and noticed Davian standing there with his back to us looking at the large desk in front of him. His physique seemed a bit different from when I had seen him some time ago. His shoulders seemed to have grown muscles and his back seemed harder and had gained more mass.

He suddenly straightened up and I knew why, he didn’t look around but he turned to the knights who were still with him.

"Please leave me alone for some time," he spoke up and the knights bowed before they left the tent.

"Master Ocean... Is that you?" Davian asked tentatively as he still kept his back to me.

I looked at Lady Dahlia and let go of her hand.

"It’s me." She spoke as she entered and I stepped back as he turned to look at his mother.

I didn’t look at him as I looked around the knights who were in the place, I spotted a few Seraph Knights whom I had seen during my stay in Frosthail.

I stood at a distance to give the mother and son some privacy while looking around me.

[Defender of Divine Glory asks if you’re not going to see your brother.]

"No."

[Goddess of Wisdom wants to know why.]

"I don’t want him to know that I’m here at the battlefield, he already worries about me, if he knew I was here then he might flip or think that I don’t trust him."

[Goddess of Wisdom says you think a lot.]

"Still, it’s better if he doesn’t know I’m here.]

[Defender of Divine Glory says that he will know you are here and what you did regardless.]

I was about to retort when I recalled about the me assassinating or rather mass murdering Marquis Rolais and his knights while being in a huge Water Dragon form.

Some of the people were left to tell the tale so it was bound to make a lot of noise.

"It wasn’t an assassination," I mumbled, "it ended up becoming a massacre."

[Goddess of Wisdom agrees.]

[Defender of Divine Glory says there might not have been any other way.]

"Probably,"

I waited out there for a couple of minutes before I heard the low whistle and returned to the tent from where Lady Dahlia was emerging.

I took her hand extending the invisibility to her and we started walking back.

"Aren’t you going to see him too?" She asked.

"No,"

"Your brother is also close by," she pointed out.

"I’ll see him and the rest when the war ends."

"Davian was asking to see you, he thinks... you are still mad at him." She said.

"I’m not,"

"You should tell him that,"

"I don’t need to,"

She released a deep sigh and held onto me before we took a flight.

We returned to the base and saw only Sir Adler, Roan and Drac who were there. The assassins and the Dark Elves had left the place and the place was cleaned up with no traces of behind.

"Welcome back, Master." Roan spoke up.

Drac stood up expectantly as he looked at me and I gestured for him to come to me. He approached me and I placed the pendant with the teleportation device around his neck.

"Keep this with you all the time and don’t lose it again," I spoke.

"Yes, Master. I’m sorry for worrying you..." He replied in a low voice.

"It’s fine, now let’s go, I’ll drop you back to your cantonment they must be going crazy with you gone missing." I said patting his shoulder.

"Yes,"

"Gather whatever stuff you brought, once I return we’ll be teleporting back home." I instructed the rest before I carried Drac and unfurled my wings.

His base wasn’t quite far but I needed to fly him there because more time would mean that his knights would have to suffer even more time without their head. Drac’s army wasn’t quite large but it still needed their leader to be in place or it would be taken over by someone else.

It was a good thing that I had one of my assassins send the word to that army notifying that Drac was alive and well, he was just caught up in some trouble.

I had the invisibility device switched on while I flew higher up in the air with Drac holding onto my neck.

"You saw that form too, didn’t you?" I asked.

Drac didn’t meet my eyes and I got his answer. He also knew that his master was a child and a girl at that.

"Are you disappointed?" I asked.

"Not at all!" He quickly said making me smile.

"I hope it’s understandable that you’re not allowed to speak about it to anyone else."

Drac nodded while remaining silent and I asked, "Are you scared of being so high up?"

He shook his head and said in a hesitant voice, "I... just feel bad that you had to... come all the way here and also... expose your real form to everyone because of me."

"It’s fine, you needed me."

"I’m sorry, Master." He said and I chuckled.

"Don’t apologise for something that was beyond your control, I’m sorry you had to endure it for that long."

He quickly shook his head, "It-"

He gasped as I shot down and he clung a bit tightly before I slowed as we neared the ground and my feet landed softly on the forest floor.

"I have to show that form to my people soon enough anyways, so, a few of them seeing it first doesn’t really matter." I said and he nodded quietly.

"Your base is a few meters from here," I instructed and he nodded again.

"I’ll... take your leave then." He bowed politely before he turned.

"Drac?" I stopped him and he looked at me.

"Yes, Master?"

"I had some other work to finish first that’s why it took me some time," I said and then smiled.

"But the next time when you are in trouble that’s beyond you, then don’t hesitate to call for me. I’m your parent Dragon, after all."

His eyes gleamed for a moment before he pursed his lips tightly.

"Tha-Thank you, Master."

I reached out and ruffled his red hair making him smile shyly and I stepped back.

"Run along," I said gesturing towards the direction that he needed to go.

He bowed once more in a perfect ninety degree before he turned and took off running.

His presence had upgraded now and I could feel my essence in him. I might probably not need him to call him when he would be in trouble the next time, my blood would call me itself.
