You can’t blame Lin Fei for not being chivalrous; Penny Shen’s few retorts in the office had really irked him.

Had Lin Fei actually set up a “date” with Xue Mei, he might not have been so angry.

The problem was, there was nothing actually going on, and because of Penny’s remarks, he received a misunderstanding from Shanshan Mu.

If Lin Fei hadn’t been quick-witted, it would have been uncertain whether he’d have left Shanshan Mu’s CEO office without incident.

It had been a long, long time since Lin Fei had experienced such a sense of injustice.

Lin Fei didn’t believe Penny would give up so easily.

Yina Xiao, with her hands on her hips and a fierce look on her face, tried to appear quite angry as though she intended to lecture Lin Fei.

But Lin Fei had long since figured out her temperament, so he wasn’t the least bit concerned about her.

Striding towards his office space in the General Affairs Department, Yina’s pretty face twitched in frustration; she had no choice but to follow Lin Fei’s footsteps forward.

“Oh, Yina, I’m getting to work now, why are you still here?

Don’t tell me you’re planning to laze around in my spot.”

His expression was as sincere as could be; to those unaware of the situation, they would have certainly believed in Lin Fei’s innocence.

However, as the person involved, Yina was infuriated to the point of almost spitting blood.

It was her, Yina Xiao, who had caught Lin Fei slacking, intending to encourage him to work more diligently, yet she was dragged into the General Affairs Department by Lin Fei as if she were a chick being pulled by the neck.

Yina was thinking how embarrassing this was turning out to be when Lin Fei turned the tables on her.

If not for the fact that Lin Fei was pinching her pretty face, making it hard to speak, Yina would not have minded spewing all the filthy words she could think of right in his face.

“Lin Fei, you’d better let me go right now, I’m telling you, Shanshan Mu just sent out an internal email about a massive layoff.

If you don’t let me go and Ling sees us, beware of getting the sack.”

Yina pounded her fists on Lin Fei’s chest as hard as she could, her furious eyes glaring at him.

“I can let you go, but remember, little Nana.

Next time, if you dare to slack off at work, I might pinch more than just your cheek.”

“Lin Fei, I’m warning you, you better be on your best behavior during this time.

Shanshan Mu is furious and has just fired over two hundred people.

If Mu sees you slacking off during work hours, you are sure to be fired too.

I’m saying this for your own good, you must listen to me this time.”

Yina took two steps back, giving Lin Fei a solemn warning.

Perhaps worried that Lin Fei might strike again, she quickly turned and ran off.

Lin Fei laughed quietly to himself; Yina’s warnings didn’t bother him, as Shanshan Mu wouldn’t possibly fire her own husband.

But having teased Yina Xiao, Lin Fei felt a significant relief from his pent-up frustration.
