Chapter 739: Chapter 741 I Belong To
In front of Auntie Fang, Lin Fei obviously couldn’t answer Jin Sanye’s call, so he excused himself and walked to the bathroom.
“What’s up?”
Adhering to the principle that all debts and grievances were settled, Lin Fei’s tone was deliberately cold, as if he were speaking to a stranger, rather distant.
On the other end of the phone, however, Jin Sanye seemed completely oblivious to this and warmly engaged in small talk, eagerly inviting Lin Fei to his villa for a meeting.
As the saying goes, one does not slap a smiling face, considering that he might directly confront the Fang Family and Poison Blade in the future.
With this thought, to avoid being bothered by Jin Sanye in the future, Lin Fei decided to use this opportunity to clear the air and part ways with him, and so he agreed.
After freshening up, Lin Fei casually headed downstairs.
“Son-in-law, hold on for a moment. The young lady went out for a run; I’ll make breakfast for you and her right away,” Auntie Fang said, noticing Lin Fei descending the stairs and heading towards the kitchen as she spoke.
“Auntie Fang, wait a minute, let me make breakfast today.”
Seeing Auntie Fang’s hesitant expression, as if she were about to kindly refuse, Lin Fei spoke up again, clarifying, “Don’t misunderstand me, Auntie Fang, I don’t mean anything else; I just want to give Shanshan a surprise.”
“That’s thoughtful of you, son-in-law.” Understanding, Auntie Fang smiled and asked, “Do you need any help from me, son-in-law?”
“It’s just breakfast; no need, Auntie Fang, go and rest.”
After addressing Auntie Fang, Lin Fei walked to the kitchen and began to get busy.
Before Mu Shanshan got up, Lin Fei had prepared breakfast.
“Auntie Fang, I have something I need to do first. When Shanshan wakes up, please remind her for me,” Lin Fei said.
Considering that Mu Shanshan probably hadn’t cooled off yet, and that he couldn’t clarify the situation about Yun Mengyao in just a few words, Lin Fei simply didn’t wait for Mu Shanshan to return, and right after eating breakfast, he drove away from the villa.
…
Not long after Lin Fei left, Mu Shanshan returned from her morning run.
“Auntie Fang, did Lin Fei leave?”
Seeing Auntie Fang nod, Mu Shanshan’s face instantly turned cold.
She had been planning to listen to Lin Fei’s explanation, but upon returning from her run, she found that Lin Fei had already driven off.
Absconding due to guilt!
Just as Mu Shanshan was mentally accusing Lin Fei, Auntie Fang approached and timely spoke up, “Son-in-law received a call early in the morning and specifically instructed me before he left to tell you that he had some private matters to handle and couldn’t have breakfast with you. Also, today’s breakfast was personally prepared by the son-in-law for you before he left.”
Seeing the slight surprise in Mu Shanshan’s expression, Auntie Fang took the opportunity to persuade her.
“I don’t know what you and the son-in-law argued about last night.
“The son-in-law’s lame excuse about watching TV obviously can’t fool Auntie Fang.
“If the son-in-law is willing to personally make breakfast for you, he surely has you in his heart. You must never make the son-in-law suffer in the future. I’m still waiting to help you look after your children sooner rather than later.”
…
On the outskirts of Jiangdong city.
Lin Fei drove to Jin Sanye’s new residence, led by Wu Zekai.
“Ever since Wang Xiong died, Sanye has been especially happy, and the business has also gone to the next level,” Wu Zekai chatted with Lin Fei as they walked, “Also, I’ve conveyed your thoughts to Sanye, exactly as you told me. I was very direct, saying that you don’t like to deal with these things, and if Sanye has any matters in the future, you might not take action again.”
“What did he say?”
Lin Fei wanted to know Jin Sanye’s attitude, as it would also determine how he would treat Jin Sanye.
“I couldn’t tell what attitude Sanye had; he didn’t say much after hearing it, just nodded,” replied Wu Zekai.
“Then let it be,” Lin Fei, not making a big issue out of it, then asked, “There is one thing, if you know, tell me the truth. That day, at the bar, how did he know about it?”
