Chapter 982: Chapter 483: Legendary Mechanician, Shen Mie_2
Although the citizens of the Republic were clueless, the higher-ups were well aware that three powerful beings from other world civilizations were lingering outside the Star-Moon World, constantly seeking to enter. Each of these three posed a threat nearly equal to that of the Main God, and their intentions were undoubtedly malign.
To thwart these formidable beings from entering Star-Moon, and even to eliminate these potential hazards, the Republic was currently investing all its efforts in developing the Mechanical Main God.
However, Lu Ran’s sudden appearance took the Republic completely by surprise.
Because Lu Ran’s identity wasn’t in the Republic’s information database, and because the fluctuations in his power had reached the Legendary Level, the Republic immediately presumed that Lu Ran was in league with that group.
Extremely dangerous!
It was entirely unknown by what means Lu Ran had illegally invaded Star-Moon.
It should be noted that the current Star-Moon World had even its extramundane void paths sealed off by the Republic’s technology, making entry exceedingly difficult.
"Understood," said the individual known as Shen Mie, a youth with an androgynous appearance, donned in a silver battle suit, who was impassive and indifferent. Upon receiving the high command’s order, he teleported to Lu Ran’s location in the blink of an eye.
Hum!
Space rippled violently and Wild Wind blew as a white-haired youth calmly looked at Lu Ran, who was pointing accusatorily at the heavens, and said, "Foreigner, give your name and state the purpose of your illegal entry into the Star-Moon Republic."
"Who are you? I’m already annoyed, so don’t provoke me," Lu Ran glanced at the white-haired figure.
Then he was slightly taken aback.
Because the recent breakthrough task reward, the Perfect Data Eye, displayed surprisingly comprehensive information,
[Code Name]: Shen Mie
[Race]: Artificial Human
[Level]: Legendary Level
[Introduction]: In order to create a more powerful Mechanical Life, the Star-Moon Republic cultivated the ultimate Artificial Beast Trainer. It is the Republic’s ultimate weapon to date and also the matrix for cultivating powerful Mechanical Life.
Clearly, this person was a Legendary Mechanician from the Mechanical Era.
However, compared to the gifted Legendary Elementalist Hera, Legendary Beast Trainer Ji Yuan, and Legendary Plantmaster Peanut, this Shen Mie turned out to be an Artificial Human.
Future records on Shen Mie would state that from an early age, Shen Mie had shown astonishing mechanical talent. At a young age, he joined the Spirit Research Institute and participated in the research of God Level technologies. Later on, he became the first-ever Legendary Mechanist and the central figure in the development of the Mechanical Main God project.
This introduction would subconsciously make one think of Shen Mie as a mere mechanical prodigy, but Lu Ran hadn’t expected that the so-called Legendary Mechanician would actually be manufactured.
That would mean... he was similar to No. 18.
Only, Shen Mie was closer to a human being, possessing the contractual abilities of humans.
"Interesting indeed."
After a close examination of Shen Mie, Lu Ran couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
He observed Shen Mie a little deeper and then came to an interesting conclusion.
[This guy harbors a deep malice in his heart.]
Lu Ran, through Liu Hua’s Good and Evil Sensing, detected the shadows lurking in the young man’s heart.
This instant realization made Lu Ran deduce that the rebellion of the Mechanical Main God was likely linked to Shen Mie, its creator, in an inexplicable way.
Had Lu Ran not broken through to the Legendary Level, he might not have detected the hidden malice. But now, he was certain he had made no mistake.
"Hey, do you hate this world? Do you resent this nation?" Lu Ran asked intriguingly, studying the Legendary figure.
In the Mechanical Era and subsequent times, Shen Mie was praised as the super Guardian God who saved the Republic from countless perils.
To suggest that such a person would hate the world or the nation would seem impossible to most.
Yet, Lu Ran trusted his Good and Evil Sensing ability. After its continuous development, and having cloned it from Liu Hua, it wasn’t limited to sensing good and evil towards himself. He could also sense the good and evil that life forms radiated towards other people, society, and the world.
"What exactly is going on with this guy?!" Frowning upon hearing Lu Ran’s questioning, the Republic’s higher-ups, watching through Shen Mie’s vision, felt perturbed.
"Shen Mie, take control of him."
Trusting Shen Mie’s capabilities, and because Lu Ran didn’t seem like a good person, the Republic’s higher-ups issued the order to control Lu Ran. On hearing this, Shen Mie remained unaffected by Lu Ran’s words, raised his arm, and from within the Summoning Formation, he grasped a special gun-shaped Mechanical Life.
It was a Thunder and Lightning series Legendary gun that shot out a golden beam, turning into a rope of thunder, which instantly bound Lu Ran’s entire body. The intense electricity was enough to knock out a Lower Legend Divine Beast in an instant, but Lu Ran, now bound by the electric rope, didn’t show the slightest sign of passing out.
"Give it up, unless you use a weapon capable of severely wounding an Upper Legend, you can’t affect me."
"But do you dare to use such a weapon in the Republic’s Capital?"
Lu Ran extended his hand and tore apart the electric net binding him. As Shen Mie and the Republic’s higher-ups’ expressions changed drastically, Lu Ran burst forth with terrifying speed, and in an instant, seized Shen Mie by the neck.
In this process, it wasn’t that Shen Mie didn’t attempt to resist; rather, as he was about to resist, a low chant from an Evil God emanated from Lu Ran’s Contract Space.
"Stop."
At that command, all of Shen Mie’s actions came to a halt. Lu Ran, gripping Shen Mie by the neck, swung his other arm and a Void Fracture appeared in front of him. Subsequently, he pulled Shen Mie into the Void, escaping the Republic’s surveillance!
