The King of Beast Trainers
Chapter 429 - 256 Star-Moon Federation_1

Chapter 429: Chapter 256 Star-Moon Federation_1

In the same realm, there are lots of people stronger than you?

Nonsense! Deceiving ghosts! Who would believe that!

The three couldn’t believe that in their world, Lu Ran was just average.

Or rather, they didn’t want to believe it.

If it were true, how terrifying would Lu Ran’s world be?

A low-level Beast Trainer with an Overlord in hand, and a Domain just standard equipment?

Impossible, it’s just absolutely impossible...

Lu Ran’s voice came again, "Where do you come from, or what do you call it?"

The three exchanged glances, as this question didn’t seem to be one they couldn’t answer.

"Star-Moon Federation."

"Star-Moon... Star-Moon?! What’s the relation to Star-Moon Continent?" Lu Ran asked.

"Star-Moon Continent... that’s the Ancient Times of the Star-Moon Federation," Liu Man said oddly.

People from the Star-Moon Federation entering historical worlds for experience made sense.

But where did this Alien World Beast Trainer, Lu Ran, come from? They all had the feeling of being cuckolded.

Well...

Lu Ran fell into deep thought.

Star-Moon Federation...

Star-Moon Continent...

Star-Moon Continent was indeed another world and it had a civilization that continued to the present day.

The Blue Star Beast Trainers had speculated that Blue Star was the modern version of the Star-Moon Continent, but now it seemed that the Blue Star might be something else altogether since the Star-Moon Continent had its own progeny.

In that case, it was certain that the battle opponents in the world war of Blue Star were not virtual projections but most likely the modern Beast Trainers of the Star-Moon Federation!!!

"Were you shocked when you found out you were matched with an Alien World Beast Trainer?" Lu Ran asked with a smile.

"Of course we were shocked. Who knew that besides us, there were other Beast Training civilizations..." Jiang Ming blurted out.

From this statement, Lu Ran picked up on two key pieces of information.

"Hmm? You refer to Star-Moon Continent as history, so what does that make this Divine Tree Continent?"

"From the way you talk, it’s not considered an alien world?" Lu Ran asked.

"Uh," Jiang Ming was taken aback.

Yu Rui spoke up, "Divine Tree Continent... tracing back the history, there’s a blank gap. According to our archaeologists’ findings, Divine Tree Continent is actually Star-Moon Continent."

"Star-Moon Continent was first, followed by Divine Tree Continent, with unknown events in between leading to drastic changes in the world rules and the rise of plant life."

Lu Ran showed a look of realization and continued, "Then on Star-Moon Continent, was there an era dominated by Elemental Life and another by Mechanical Life?"

"Our people have entered these four worlds for trials. Don’t tell me the other two worlds are also Star-Moon Continent, but just from different eras."

At this point, there was really nothing to hide. Yu Rui continued, "Um, we’re taught about these in our history classes."

"Legend has it that when the world was still a void, the Four Great Genesis Dragons born of time, space, life, and death rules created the world."

"After the world was born, it nurtured a dense elemental force, which formed the fundamental essence of the world."

"In the midst of various dense elemental forces, the world gave birth to the first generation of Elemental Spirits, who were primarily Elemental Beings."

"After this group of Elemental Spirits, a large number of ordinary Elemental Beings were also born, along with animals and plants."

"The era you speak of that was dominated by Elemental Life, might refer to this period."

"Humans in this era had already mastered the ability to form contracts with other life forms."

"However, due to a period of historical blankness, this era experienced a discontinuity in its history."

"The world rules changed dramatically, Elemental Life ceased to be born, and ordinary Elemental Life completely disappeared. Instead, various Evil Beasts evolved rapidly and soon became the dominators of the world."

"Then, like a cycle of reincarnation, after who knows how long, the Evil Beast Race declined and plant life rose to power."

"Hmm... In the far future, there will be another cycle, a historical break, and after that gap, humans will have discovered the power of technology and researched Mechanical Life."

"So, the history of Star-Moon Continent can roughly be divided into the Elemental Era, Beast Training Era, Plant Era, and Mechanical Era."

Yu Rui said, "And our Star-Moon Federation exists after the Mechanical Era."

Interesting.

Lu Ran was surprised to discover that the Elemental World, Star-Moon Continent, Divine Tree Continent, and Mechanical World were all part of the same universe.

Only, because of historical discontinuities, successive generations had no understanding of ancient times.

Until the era of the Star-Moon Federation where Yu Rui and others lived, only parts of the historical truth had been excavated.

This discovery was far from trivial.

"How much do you understand about Infinite City?"

"Share with me what you know about Infinite City."

"You go ahead," Yu Rui coughed dryly. Since he was injured and didn’t want to speak anymore, he gestured for Jiang Ming to speak instead.

Whatever Lu Ran wanted to ask, they might as well tell him.

Yu Rui felt that there must also be many Beast Trainers from the Star-Moon Federation who had been matched to the Beast Trainers in Lu Ran’s world.

Sooner or later, intelligence about both worlds would be known to each side.

There was really no need to be secretive now.

Though the future relationship between Beast Trainers from both worlds as friends or foes was unknown, under the current circumstances, it was best to be allied with Lu Ran, rather than adversaries.

"Infinite City..."

"We have no idea where Infinite City originated from on our side."

"It suddenly appeared a year ago, selecting large numbers of Beast Trainers to enter and face various trials..."

"At first, many were apprehensive, but then, as diverse and rare resources and skills started being rewarded in different Secret Realms, the resistance faded away."

"After all, our side is in desperate need of resources, and the emergence of Infinite City filled this gap, revitalizing the stagnant Beast Training civilization and propelling its vigorous development once again."

Lu Ran pondered deeply. Infinite City appeared on their side just a year ago???

How many years was that behind Blue Star?

After all, Blue Star had encountered Infinite City as far back as Ancient Times.

However, the Star-Moon Federation had inherited and preserved the Beast Training system.

When they entered Infinite City, it wasn’t starting from scratch.

Lu Ran asked, "When you entered Infinite City, were you already Beast Trainers?"

"Yes..." said Jiang Ming.

Next, as Lu Ran continued to inquire, he was surprised to find that the Infinite City facilities in the Star-Moon Federation were very rudimentary.

There was no Evolutionary Secret Realm! No Legendary Secret Realm! Various Secret Realms didn’t drop Trait Crystals!

Their Pet Beasts had to rely on unique breeding techniques and evolutionary resources for evolution; they couldn’t evolve just by Fusion Traits like those in Blue Star.

Also, since they could open their own Beast Training Spaces, they weren’t issued Contract Cards.

However, their Level still had to be approved by Infinite City, and to continue leveling up, they needed to go through the Breakthrough Secret Realm. Yet, not many resisted, seeing as the Breakthrough Secret Realm’s rewards were plentiful and collecting them from historical trials was a rare opportunity.

In summary, the Infinite City facilities in the Star-Moon Federation still fell short when compared to Blue Star.

It felt like there was a difference in the extent of cultivation!

For Blue Star, Infinite City invested more resources for cultivation.

Whereas for the Star-Moon Federation, only a fraction of the resources was put in.

But this didn’t mean the Star-Moon Federation as a whole was weaker than Blue Star; given that they already had a complete Beast Training system before the appearance of Infinite City, including Legendary Beast Trainers, the current federation was still much stronger than Blue Star.

"That..." Just then, Liu Man suddenly looked up and asked, "Did the Infinite City in your world update the War of the Worlds?"

"Our Infinite City recently announced a War of the Worlds, claiming that in one year, there will be a duel with Beast Trainers from 10 different Alien Worlds."

"If we win, the Infinite City facilities will upgrade, and we’ll get partial managerial rights to Infinite City."

"If we lose, there will be certain penalties."

"Hmm." Lu Ran’s lips curved upward as he said, "That’s right, our side also updated the War of the Worlds. It seems that we can confirm now, in one year, it will be a battle over Infinite City resources between the Beast Trainers of our two worlds."

Although Lu Ran appeared calm on the surface, internally he was actually quite troubled.

Right now, Blue Star didn’t have a single Level 6 Beast Trainer, but the Star-Moon Federation already had those of Legendary Level.

How the hell are we supposed to fight that?

The only advantage might be the extent of cultivation; perhaps, Blue Star’s overall strength could surge dramatically within the year, with constant updates from Infinite City.

"Let’s not talk about that." Lu Ran said, "In the end, it has nothing to do with us underdogs, right?"

"That’s true..." said Jiang Ming. The War of the Worlds was none of their concern.

"More than that, I’m more curious about the cause of the historical gaps in the eras of the Star-Moon Continent." Lu Ran pondered,

"Could it be related to mythical creatures?"

"After all, any change in the world’s rules seems to indicate that the legendary creatures of a certain race failed in their struggle, right?"

"That’s possible," Yu Rui interjected again. "I’m not sure about the other eras, but the end of the Mechanical Era was indeed due to the War of Legends."

"In that era, there was suspicion of a War of Legends, which led to the destruction of the Star-Moon Continent. The Humans of the Star-Moon Federation are actually ’Human Sparks’ stored in the Mechanical Space by a Legendary Mechanician, the Guardian God of Humanity, before that great battle."

"Once we emerged from the Mechanical Space after several hundred years, the Star-Moon Continent was already in ruins."

"It was only after many years of rebuilding that we were able to restore it to its current level."

"The great battle also contributed to the slow progress of our existing Beast Training civilization because the resources on the continent had become extremely scarce..."

"There were Legendary Mechanicians in the Mechanical Era???" Lu Ran was taken aback and asked, "Level 9 Beast Trainers??"

"As far as I know, weren’t the Human Levels blocked by mythical creatures, with the highest being Semi-Legendary Level?" Lu Ran questioned.

"Yes," Yu Rui replied. "Mythical creatures have indeed been locking human levels through the ages—Elemental Era, Beast Training Era, Plant Era, Mechanical Era—it has always been like this."

"But according to the archaeologists’ discoveries, it seems that in each of these four eras, humans eventually managed to break through the Legendary Level and successfully defeated mythical creatures with mortal bodies."

"There have been a total of four Legendary Beast Trainers in the history of the Star-Moon Continent."

"However, it seems that whenever a human breaks through to the Legendary Level, that’s when the historical gaps occur. With each new cycle, human levels are blocked again..."

Upon hearing this, Lu Ran fell into contemplation. So it was; he had thought that humans had never spawned a legend from the beginning. Who then was the Legendary Beast Trainer of the Beast Training Era? Could it have been the one cultivated by his discounted necro master who focused on soul cultivation? He had wanted to help his master fulfill his last wish, but now it seemed someone had already achieved it ahead of time.
