The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha -
Chapter 346 - 345 Yunxiao and Chi Xiao
Chapter 346: Chapter 345 Yunxiao and Chi Xiao
Composed, dignified, and thoughtful, with the temperament of a leader.
Nezha didn’t feel anything like envy towards this; whether Yunxiao was holding it or not made little difference to him. However, he couldn’t help but feel speechless: "You old devil! If I hadn’t prodded you, you’d still be hiding it?"
After finishing these arrangements, the obsession that had kept the East King Duke tethered finally began to dissipate.
"Who knows what the future holds~"
"No worries, old man. I’ve got strong connections in the underworld. I’ll make sure you get a decent reincarnation!"
After saying this, Nezha reclaimed the residual soul of the East King Duke.
Beneath the Fusang Tree, the roots stirred and revealed a hidden space—it was clearly the inheritance the East King Duke had mentioned.
Yunxiao hesitated. After all, she and her siblings had only come along as backup for Nezha. Now that fortune had fallen into her hands, it didn’t seem entirely appropriate.
Nezha noticed Yunxiao’s hesitation and reassured her: "Sister Yun, go ahead. That old codger doesn’t think much of me anyway. Besides, why should we be so formal with each other?"
Initially, Zhao Gongming didn’t think it was his place to speak, but seeing Nezha’s genuine words, he immediately added, "Little sister, Brother Nezha isn’t an outsider."
Yunxiao wasn’t someone who wavered endlessly. She nodded decisively and entered the space below the tree.
"Brother Zhao, guard Sister Yun here. Judging by the looks of it, there’s still a lot to handle outside. I’ll take care of it."
No Brainer and Unhappy immediately chimed in, "We’ll come too!"
...
The next day, Shuo Immortal arrived punctually to meet them.
Nezha remained in the guise of the East King Duke, with No Brainer and Unhappy flanking him.
Nezha originally thought that the remaining immortals on this island wouldn’t amount to much influence, but the reality far exceeded his expectations. The scene was quite grand—more than three thousand immortals seated below.
According to Shuo Immortal, at the Purple Mansion’s peak, the number of immortals had reached as many as one hundred thousand!
Bear in mind, even during the Jie Sect’s prime, only Ten Thousand Immortals came forth to pay homage.
The current Three Immortals Island could absolutely not sustain that many immortals, or rather, not a single living immortal remained atop it anymore.
"Emperor, have you found a way to return to the Primordial Lands?"
"Yes, Emperor, have you gained anything from this journey?"
Since Nezha had promised the East King Duke, he would not go back on his word. Moreover, helping the millions of beings on this island return to the Primordial Lands would also amount to great merit for him.
"Everyone, do not worry. I have already made contact with the outside world during this journey. Once I establish contact with all sides, the Three Immortals Island will definitely return to the Primordial Lands."
Upon hearing Nezha’s words, traces of vigor flickered across the faded remnants of the immortals below. They had endured till now, clinging to the hope of returning to their homeland and escaping this sunless abyss.
In the blink of an eye, three months had passed. During this time, Nezha had been accompanying Shuo Immortal in investigating the Three Immortals Island and compiling data. The current Three Immortals Island essentially formed the main body of the original Three Immortals Mountain.
Unfortunately, it had been utterly destroyed by Taiyi, leaving only intact parts as the present-day Penglai Island. The remnants had been swept by surging seawater into the Returning Ruins, where they were deposited to form the current Three Immortals Island.
The island was vast. By Nezha’s estimation, it equaled the size of five Central Plains regions combined.
The Primordial Lands were immensely expansive, but the most suitable region for the Human Clan was, in fact, the Central Plains. To the east lay the East Sea; to the south were the Ten Thousand Mountains and the Undying Volcano; to the north were ancient battlefields and the frigid North State and Beihai. As for the west, the east and west had yet to connect, and the West was a barren land.
Just as Nezha was about to explore other areas with Shuo, a fiery streak appeared across the sky, executing a sharp drift to block their path. It was, of course, No Brainer and Unhappy.
"Nezha! Sister Yun has exited her meditation. Let’s return quickly!"
Nezha nodded slightly; this was faster than he had anticipated.
The four returned to the Fusang Temple, where Yunxiao appeared unchanged from before, except that she now carried an imperial red longsword brimming with Emperor’s Energy. She exuded an even more imposing aura.
Seeing Nezha’s curiosity about the sword, Yunxiao generously handed it to him.
Nezha took the sword and examined it. The blade was three feet long, adorned with Seven-colored Pearls and Jiuhua Jade. Its edge shone like frost and snow, and its Emperor’s Energy merged harmoniously with the blade. Red glimmers danced along the blade, accompanied by purple halos.
"Sister Yun, has this sword been named yet?"
Yunxiao shook her head. "This sword was acquired because of you. Why don’t you name it?"
Nezha returned the sword to Yunxiao with both hands and said, "How about Chi Xiao?"
"Chi Xiao? A fine name."
Yunxiao pricked her finger and inscribed the characters for "Chi Xiao" onto the blade.
The East King Duke’s inheritance included not only the sword but also authority and responsibility. Nezha estimated that once the Three Immortals Island left the Returning Ruins, Yunxiao and her sisters would have to relocate.
Moving a mountain to a mountain—Three Immortals Island to Three Immortals Mountain—made perfect sense, didn’t it?
After that, Nezha explained the key points, with the most crucial one being the method to return the Three Immortals Island to the Primordial Lands.
Yunxiao pondered briefly before providing the solution: using an array.
Old Zhao’s response? "Little sister’s plan is spot on."
As for No Brainer and Unhappy? All they wanted now was to race around!
The Three Immortals Island was enormous. The five of them alone couldn’t possibly drag it back to the Primordial Lands. This clearly required assistance.
Nezha and Yunxiao discussed matters for a while. Eventually, it was decided that Yunxiao would lay down an array internally to pull the island outward, while Nezha would go and seek external allies to assist in hauling it. Together, they aimed to free the Three Immortals Island from the Returning Ruins and bring it back to the Primordial Lands.
With Chi Xiao in her possession, Yunxiao was practically the East King Duke’s successor. Nezha didn’t concern himself further and set off to look for reinforcements.
...
While on his journey, Nezha contemplated which allies to seek. The first priority was to find beings adept in water. The Returning Ruins was an endlessly flooding abyss, and the greatest obstacle to the Three Immortals Island’s ascension was the colossal pressure from the water above.
Nezha could resist with his physical body, but even other Taiyi Golden Immortals without Protective Dharma Treasures would struggle just to protect themselves, let alone contribute any effort.
Among all beings in the Primordial Lands, whose water skills were the best?
The answer was, of course, their old neighbors—the Dragon Clan!
Thus, Nezha’s first stop was the Dragon Palace of the East Sea.
Perhaps because Nezha had visited too many times, the Old Dragon King had begun to understand Nezha’s personality. He knew Nezha merely sought small advantages—mainly food and drink—so he no longer panicked like he used to.
The Dragon Palace, being wealthy across the Four Seas, didn’t mind Nezha mooching a few meals every now and then.
"Emperor, oh my great Emperor! What wind has blown you here today? Come, take a seat! Quickly, prepare a feast!"
Nezha felt a bit awkward; after all, he had come seeking help. But with the Old Dragon King being so hospitable, Nezha felt obligated to exercise a little restraint.
Ah, maybe I’ll eat two fewer giant lobsters this time!
After eating and drinking his fill, Nezha broached the real topic.
"Old Dragon King, are you aware of the Chaos Demon Gods’ invasion at the last Peach Banquet?"
"I know, I know. Even Xiao Long is aware."
The Old Dragon King hadn’t been present at the banquet, but news of the event had spread widely—after all, the Turquoise Pool had literally been splattered with chaos.
"Emperor, this... my Dragon Clan truly has no connection to those Demon Gods! Please, you must discern this clearly!"
Nezha waved his hand dismissively.
"I never said it had anything to do with your Dragon Clan. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be just me standing here. According to the Great Venerable’s investigation, that Chaos Demon Mirage breached the Primordial Lands through the Returning Ruins. Hence, my purpose here is to repair the Returning Ruins."
