Chapter 990 - Chapter 990 Chapter 990 Gratitude and Indebtedness

Chapter 990: Chapter 990: Gratitude and Indebtedness Chapter 990: Chapter 990: Gratitude and Indebtedness Su Yunjin appraised Zuixiang Restaurant; the lot where the Oil Shop was located next to it now belonged to her and Gu Ya as well.

Even though Zuixiang Restaurant had a small facade, the Oil Shop next door boasted a larger one–almost double the size of theirs. If the Oil Shop was included, the place would be even more expansive.

In town, a simple distillery wasn’t very marketable; however, a tavern was a different story altogether. Since the space was now quite ample, combining the Oil Shop and the distillery to build a tavern would make sense. Constructing a three-story tavern in that location, which although not the most bustling market, was still quite central, would surely fetch a good price if sold.

Moreover, it was much easier to sell a tavern than a distillery.

After weighing all factors, Su Yunjin ultimately decided to build a tavern on this site. Once the tavern was built, they would sell it. At the very least, they could make a tidy sum.

“Husband, I want to combine our Zuixiang Restaurant with the Oil Shop next door to build a tavern, what do you think?” Su Yunjin turned to look at Gu Ya.

Before Gu Ya had a chance to respond, Su Yunjin saw Wu Xinxin approaching, “Oh my, Big Brother Gu, Sister Su, you’ve arrived?” Wu Xinxin pretended to look sympathetic.

She almost shed two tears in the process.

She acted as though she was genuinely heartbroken about their shop.

“Big Brother Gu, Sister Su, to see your distillery burned down like this, it really makes my heart ache for you! These past few days, I’ve wanted to come and comfort both of you, but I just haven’t seen you around. Today, I finally got the chance to meet Sister Su and Big Brother Gu. I wonder where you’ve been lately? Are you grieving over the burning of your shop?”

Wu Xinxin’s pretense made Su Yunjin feel nauseous, and Gu Ya’s face showed nothing but disgust towards her. These past few days, Wu Xinxin had been at Hongyun Building, closely watching the shop owned by Mr. and Mrs. Gu.

She had been awaiting the appearance of Mr. and Mrs. Gu.

Now that Zuixiang Restaurant was burned down,

Mr. and Mrs. Gu had essentially lost everything.

Priding themselves on owning a small distillery in the past, Mr. and Mrs. Gu looked down on others and never took Zuixiang Restaurant seriously. Now that Zuixiang Restaurant was reduced to ashes,

what reason did the couple have to be proud?

Now, offering Gu Ya a job as an Accountant at Hongyun Building would be charity, a way to give the couple a bit of food to eat. They would probably have to be grateful to her, Wu Xinxin.

Wu Xinxin hadn’t given up on Gu Ya yet; it was rare to see a man as handsome as him, and she was determined to seduce him–that was just her style.

When it came to men,

Wu Xinxin had never failed. She was very confident that Gu Ya, too, would ultimately be unable to resist her. Wu Xinxin was unaware of the deep disgust Gu Ya felt for her.

Gu Ya remained silent, and the seemingly shy Wu Xinxin continued, “Big Brother Gu, now that your Zuixiang Restaurant is gone and you have no means of earning money, if you wouldn’t mind, our Hongyun Building is always open to having you, Big Brother Gu!” Wu Xinxin appeared to be well-meaning.

She thought Gu Ya would gratefully accept her offer, but before she could finish speaking, Gu Ya walked away with Su Yunjin without giving her a second glance.

Enraged, Wu Xinxin stamped her feet.

Damn it!

So disrespectful.

What right did the couple have to be so haughty? Their shop had been burned down, and yet they remained so arrogant?

Tsk!

Did they really think so highly of themselves?
