Chapter 1294: Chapter 1294: Anticipation

The Princess Consort beamed with joy.

Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Su Yunjin.

"Madam Su, is that really true? Can I truly still bear a child for the Prince?" The Princess Consort was worried about her frail health making it difficult to conceive, but upon hearing Su Yunjin’s words, she became hopeful.

Having been saved by Su Yunjin several times and having witnessed her medical skills, the Princess Consort had no doubt about Su Yunjin’s words that she could still conceive.

The Princess Consort also believed that Su Yunjin must have a way to help her.

Su Yunjin indeed had a method to help the Princess Consort; she could first prescribe a medicinal recipe to nourish her body. With her help in adjusting the Princess Consort’s condition, conceiving a child would not be difficult. However, childbirth naturally depletes a woman’s vital energy, and the Princess Consort had always been weak.

Having just given birth, Su Yunjin did not recommend that the Princess Consort conceive again within a year; it would be best for her to recuperate for about a year before trying. In this way, conceiving again would not harm her health, "Princess Consort, please extend your hand, and I will take your pulse!"

Su Yunjin first asked the Princess Consort to stretch out her hand. Upon hearing Su Yunjin’s words, the Princess Consort subconsciously extended her hand, "Madam Su, not to conceal from you, after giving birth to the Prince, I often feel palpitations and shortness of breath. I have been taking the prescription you gave me last time, but it seems not as effective as before."

At first, after taking the prescription Su Yunjin had given, the Princess Consort felt much improved; now, although there was an effect, it was not very noticeable.

As Su Yunjin took the Princess Consort’s pulse, she responded to her concerns.

"Princess Consort, having just given birth, it is inevitable that your body is somewhat depleted. The prescription I gave you last time must be supplemented with a few herbs that nourish the body to be effective."

After explaining, Su Yunjin added, "Princess Consort, let me write down the prescription for you now, and you can arrange for someone to prepare it for you."

The Princess Consort nodded, called a servant to bring pen and ink, and considering that the Princess Consort was still nursing, fearing any effects on the child, Su Yunjin dared not prescribe any other medicine. Most of what she prescribed were mild tonics, good not only for the Princess Consort’s body, but also beneficial for the child in her arms.

After considering carefully, Su Yunjin wrote down the prescription, handed the finished prescription to Lingling, and the Princess Consort had just finished feeding the child, who, full and satisfied, adorably burped.

"There, he burped!" Lingling, who had no experience with children, did not know that it was normal for babies to spit up bubbles of milk. Seeing the Little Prince bubble at the mouth, Lingling was nervous, thinking he might be uncomfortable.

The Princess Consort was a bit nervous too, but being a mother, she was much calmer than Lingling. Su Yunjin pulled out a handkerchief, smiling as she wiped the bubbles from the Little Prince’s mouth.

Then, she had the Princess Consort pick up the child and gently pat his back. Following Su Yunjin’s instructions, the child comfortably leaned on the Princess Consort’s shoulder. This time, he stopped spitting up and smiled at everyone.

He was really quite endearing.

The little fellow was well-nurtured, with chubby arms and soft, squishy hands that made one unable to resist pinching and playing with him. Su Yunjin played with the Little Prince.

Lingling went to fetch the medicine for the Princess Consort.
