Chapter 1277: Chapter 1277: Good News
"Husband, this is Madam Su I’ve mentioned to you before," Mrs. Qin set down the little girl in her arms and walked smilingly to Qin Yan’s side.
With Mrs. Qin standing beside him, the couple looked even more pleasing to the eye, like a perfect match. Su Yunjin greeted Qin Yan with a smile.
"Pleased to meet you, Young Master Qin." Qin Yan was handsome, and his moon-white brocade robe made him appear even more nobly out of this world, intimidatingly unapproachable.
Qin Yan looked at Su Yunjin and nodded lightly, then turned his head back to Mrs. Qin, his expression softening, "Wan’er, the old dowager of Prince Qi Residence has sent someone to call for us."
The old dowager of the Prince Qi Residence was known for her charity, and Mrs. Qin greatly respected her. Hearing Qin Yan say that the old dowager had summoned them, Mrs. Qin turned her gaze to Su Yunjin.
"Madam Su, my husband and I are going to see the old dowager, so we must take our leave now. Let’s get together some other time when we’re free," Mrs. Qin was ready to leave.
Su Yunjin was very understanding, "Mrs. Qin, since the old dowager has requested your presence, you and Young Master Qin should go quickly and not keep her waiting."
After sending off Mr. and Mrs. Qin, Su Yunjin thought of Gu Ya waiting for her in the front courtyard; she wondered if he had become impatient during the long time she had been apart from Mrs. Qin.
Gu Ya had no acquaintances in the Prince Qi Residence, and he must have been bored sitting by himself, so she decided to go find him right now. Su Yunjin stepped forward and headed towards the front courtyard.
The gaze of the man on the opposite loft never left Su Yunjin until she had walked away, at which point he finally diverted his attention.
The attendant following Young Master Chu couldn’t help but sigh quietly. What a shame — why was Miss Su already a married woman?
If Miss Su were unwed, the attendant would quite enjoy seeing his young master marry her. In all the years he had served Young Master Chu, he’d never seen the young master take any woman to heart.
Except for Miss Su.
How could Young Master Chu fail to understand what his attendant was thinking, even though the attendant hadn’t spoken a word? Young Master Chu knew exactly what was on his mind.
Young Master Chu’s mother cared deeply about his marriage, as her only son. She had seen the sons of the household all married with children and was naturally anxious.
In the past year, she had not stopped looking for suitable candidates for queen, but Young Master Chu showed no interest in these women, finding different excuses to decline each time.
This time, his mother had once again brought up his marriage and arranged for him to meet a young lady from the Prime Minister Residence. In the past, Young Master Chu would have outright rejected the idea without a second thought.
But this time, Young Master Chu actually planned to meet her. Without turning back, he quietly ordered his attendant, "Write a letter to madam later, tell her that I will meet Miss Leng."
Upon hearing Young Master Chu’s words, the attendant was momentarily stunned.
"Young Master, you... you’re willing to accept madam’s arrangement?" The attendant was astonished, his mouth agape, wider than an egg.
However, it was always good for the young master to be willing to accept another woman. The attendant didn’t ask further and even felt a secret joy in his heart. It would be for the best if the young master could shift his affections away from Miss Su.
Miss Su was already married, and the young master, no matter how he felt, could not covet another man’s wife, especially with his status — how could he possibly marry a woman who had been married before and was carrying another’s child?
