Chapter 1253: The Obedient Little Wife

Chapter 1253: Chapter 1253: The Obedient Little Wife

The obedient little wife surprised him beyond Gu Ya’s expectations.

He was taken aback.

Looking at the little lady in his arms, Gu Ya felt a stir in his heart.

Suddenly, Su Yunjin exclaimed, "Ah!" leading Gu Ya to wonder if something was wrong with his wife?

He quickly asked with concern, "Yunjin, what’s wrong?" Clasping her belly with both hands, Su Yunjin was both excited and surprised, "It moved, it moved, my lord, the baby just moved inside my tummy."

The baby had just given Su Yunjin’s belly a strong kick, which she distinctly felt. After her excitement, Su Yunjin grabbed Gu Ya’s hand, placing his large palm on her belly to let him feel the movement of the baby inside.

The clothes they wore in autumn weren’t very thick, so unlike the heavy garments needed in winter, Gu Ya had just placed his hand on his wife’s tummy when he distinctly felt the baby moving inside, his expression mirroring surprise and excitement upon feeling the child’s movements.

A grown man, utterly delighted by the fetal movement of his unborn child in his wife’s belly, lost his composure, "It moved, it moved, Yunjin, the child is really moving."

After his initial excitement, Gu Ya, afraid that his large hand might press on the baby, quickly withdrew his hand. His cautious manner made Su Yunjin burst into giggles.

Unbothered by his wife’s laughter,

Gu Ya wanted to feel the baby’s movements again. After he pulled his hand back, he placed it on her belly once more. But this time, Gu Ya did not feel any movement.

"Yunjin, why isn’t the child moving anymore?" Gu Ya carefully felt around on his wife’s tummy with his hand but couldn’t sense the little one’s movement.

Their baby, after giving Su Yunjin a couple of kicks with its tiny feet, lazily yawned and went to sleep. Being skilled in medicine, Su Yunjin knew that as the baby grew, its movements would become more noticeable.

The child would move again in the future.

Gu Ya looked puzzled, but Su Yunjin laughed once more.

Her tone was teasing.

"You fool!" Gu Ya was usually so clever that even Su Yunjin couldn’t fathom his thoughts. Why then, when it came to the child,

had Gu Ya become so muddled? Fetal movements are sporadic; they don’t keep happening constantly. Realizing this, Gu Ya pulled his hand back, and after feeling the baby move just now, he was somewhat looking forward to the moment of the child’s birth.

Held in Gu Ya’s embrace, Su Yunjin suddenly thought of the upcoming full-moon feast at the Prince Qi Residence. Turning her head to look at Gu Ya, she said, "My lord, by the way, in a few days it will be the Prince Consort’s son’s full-moon celebration. What kind of gift do you think we should prepare for the Prince Consort?" While asking Gu Ya, Su Yunjin was also considering that the gift should not be too trivial nor needlessly lavish.

What hasn’t someone of the Prince Consort’s status seen? Ordinary things wouldn’t catch her eye. Thinking it through, the intention behind the congratulatory gift for the Prince Qi Residence was what mattered most.
