Chapter 1227: Chapter 1047, Kicked Out of the Mansion
"You brazen servants, release me at once! If Yan Yile is harmed by you, I’ll have Yiyi beat and kill all of you!"
"Are you even listening to me? You damn servants!"
Sun Family’s furious words echoed in the main courtyard.
Immediately after, the servants in the main courtyard saw Guyu leading the older maids as they escorted Yan Yile across the yard, followed by the obnoxious Sun Family and the anxious and flustered Yan Yihuan.
The main room’s door was wide open, and Daohua sat in the chief seat, clearly observing the scene before her.
When Sun Family arrived at the main courtyard, she stopped entangling with Guyu and the others, and with a loud wail, she dashed straight for the main hall. Upon entering the room, she began giving orders to Daohua:
"Yiyi, what kind of servants have you been raising? Look what they’ve done to Yile! Hurry up, call them off and release Yile at once."
Daohua just watched Sun Family silently, turning a deaf ear to her words, her gaze shifting toward Yan Yile, who was being pushed in.
The older maids, each with a firm grip, shoved Yan Yile forward, causing her to stumble and kneel on the ground.
Seeing this, Sun Family felt terribly heartbroken, glaring furiously at Daohua: "Yiyi, what is the meaning of this? You are heartless. Yile is your sister!"
Daohua’s eyes grew colder: "Auntie, it seems that I have given you too much face over the years, to the point where you have forgotten who you are."
Daohua’s voice was very calm, but it lacked any hint of warmth, sending chills down Yan Yihuan’s spine.
Sun Family was also stunned by Daohua’s indifferent demeanor. The once fierce and blustering Sun Family deflated like a punctured balloon.
But for the sake of her daughter, she still mustered the courage to say: "Yiyi, what kind of attitude is this? I am your elder."
Daohua replied indifferently, "Auntie, when uncle had a concubine outside, he nearly ruined the Yan Family’s hard-earned fortune. According to the family and clan rules, your branch should have been expelled from the Yan Family."
"The reason why you were merely separated was out of consideration for grandmother, and over the years, the first and third branches have been tolerant of you, have not been unkind, and have given you support. Have you forgotten the mistakes you made?"
"Even if grandmother were here today, she wouldn’t say anything if I truly refused to acknowledge you."
Sun Family was momentarily taken aback; knowing she was at fault, she dared not posture as an elder any longer, and with a guilty conscience, she said: "Child, why are you dredging up the past now?"
Daohua’s expression remained unemotional: "Isn’t it because someone’s skin is too thick? In the past, I let things slide to save face for all, but now someone has gone too far, so I have to tear off the mask."
Sun Family wanted to say something but was stopped by Yan Yihuan.
Yan Yihuan looked at Daohua, "Big sister..."
Daohua interrupted her, her eyes no longer as affectionate as before, turning somewhat cold, "Second sister, I don’t like to misplace my anger."
Yan Yihuan felt a tightness in her chest, and the words stuck in her throat.
Daohua was no longer looking at Sun Family or Yan Yihuan, her gaze settling on the kneeling and disheveled Yan Yile: "Disappointed, aren’t you? You are indeed smarter than the other women who have their eyes set on Xiao Yeyang."
Yan Yile’s eyes flickered, biting her lip, "I don’t understand what you’re talking about."
Daohua sneered, "You don’t understand? Then let me guess what you’ve been plotting and planning in your heart."
"You know very well that Xiao Yeyang would never fancy you, and that I will never accept you."
"But you still want to stay in the Prince Residence forever, so what should you do?"
"Xiao Yeyang values the children, so what better way than to win their affection and have them speak well of you on your behalf?"
"During this time, you did quite well; at least most people didn’t notice your true intentions, and you did succeed in getting the children to keep mentioning you in front of Xiao Yeyang."
"Because of the children’s fondness for you, Xiao Yeyang has also improved his attitude toward you, even greeting you of his own accord when you meet by chance."
In the inner chamber, Daozi pouted, looking at Xiao Yeyang as if seeking confirmation, "Dad, is fourth aunt really approaching us on purpose?"
Xiao Yeyang touched his nose, seeming somewhat embarrassed. Sure enough, just as Yiyi said, because the children were still young and grew fond of Yan Yile, he had indeed become much warmer toward her whenever they met by chance.
Outside, Daohua’s speech continued.
"The change in Xiao Yeyang’s attitude towards you has intensified her inner desires, seeing more hope. Thus, you’ve been even more diligently trying to please the three children," said Daohua.
"You’ve successfully garnered the sympathy of the children with your tragic loss of a child, and indeed, things were developing just as you had planned."
"Unfortunately, come February, Daozi will be off to school."
"You know full well that once Daozi is gone, I won’t let the twins run around wildly; thereby your method to attract Xiao Yeyang through the children would fail, wouldn’t it?"
"Moreover, we’ve started to search for marriage prospects for you again. You’re aware you can’t evade this forever. Even if you look down on the suitors we find for you, I won’t let you stay in the Prince Residence indefinitely."
"So, you’ve orchestrated today’s accident at the Lotus Pond!"
Within the room, only Daohua’s calm voice was heard, yet it weighed heavily on everyone’s ears.
Yan Yile’s face turned pale, her secret ploy exposed; though she stood with a straight back, it was nothing but a pretense.
Sun Family’s lady had fallen into her chair, her face blanketed with disbelief.
She truly didn’t know that her youngest daughter harbored such thoughts.
Yan Yihuan, on the other hand, hung her head, looking at the ground, her face filled with shame, wishing she could vanish into thin air.
How disgraceful, Yan Yile coveting her own brother-in-law and having it pointed out openly!
Daohua continued: "You know Xiao Yeyang’s favorite is Daomang. Seeing Daomang falling into the water, he would surely jump in to save her personally."
"Clutching Daomang, Xiao Yeyang would inevitably save you as well."
"Completely drenched, skin pressed against skin, you’d take the risk, tugging your clothes this way and that, exposing your skin in front of everyone. Then, Xiao Yeyang would have no choice but to acknowledge you."
"Because you fell into the water trying to save Daomang, even if you clung to Xiao Yeyang, I couldn’t say anything, and given my uncles’ ability to cause disturbances, your chances of getting your wish would be quite high."
"You’ve made very thorough calculations. Using any other methods, even if you ended up in Xiao Yeyang’s backyard, you’d only earn his disgust, and you’d never have a peaceful day thereafter."
"You are indeed clever, climbing your way up by saving Daomang, Xiao Yeyang might not like you, but he’d still pity you."
With all her thoughts and plans laid bare, Yan Yile could no longer hold on. She staggered and fell to the ground, but still, she raised her head to look at Daohua and sneered:
"Big sister, these are nothing more than your speculations. Ever since we were children, you never liked me, and now you’re resorting to such despicable methods to slander me. When it comes to being venomous, I can’t compare to you."
A sarcastic smile appeared on Daohua’s face: "Yan Yile, you think too highly of yourself. Why would you be worth my effort to deal with?"
With that said, her gaze sharpened.
"Yan Yile, I’ve underestimated your shamelessness and malice. Just for your own selfish desires, you stooped so low as to harm a two-year-old child."
"In such cold weather, if Daomang had fallen into the Lotus Pond, even if she didn’t die, her body would have suffered from the cold. How could you be so heartless, as if you have no conscience at all!"
Caught in a dazed state, Sun Family’s lady finally snapped out of it, hastily retorting: "No no no, Yiyi, you must be mistaken, Yile wouldn’t harm Daozi and the others, she definitely wouldn’t."
Daohua turned her head abruptly, her gaze cold as she looked at Sun Family’s lady: "Auntie, we have been more than generous to your household over the years, cleaning up after every mess you’ve made."
"Now, your daughter covets my husband and harms my daughter; on a minor level, she disregards sisterly affection. On a grave level, it’s biting the hand that feeds her. And yet, you continue to make excuses for her."
Sun Family’s lady was left speechless by the rebuke. She looked at Daohua and then at Yan Yile, fuming as she went over and slapped Yan Yile hard: "You’ve really made me furious."
Seeing the outraged Daohua, Yan Yihuan realized today’s incident wouldn’t end well. After a moment’s thought, she ’plop’ knelt before Daohua.
"Big sister, I know the mistake Yile made is unforgivable, and I can’t face asking you for mercy, but... we grew up together as sisters, I still plead with you to look past this for the clouded judgement and misguided deeds of Yile this once."
Having said that, she kowtowed to Daohua.
Daohua’s face was expressionless as she looked at Yan Yihuan: "Yan Yile is not just an ingrate but also an expert in stabbing in the back. I cannot afford to have such a sister."
"Yihuan, I always thought you were the sensible one in your family. But now... you pleading for Yile at this moment disappoints me immensely." fre ewebno(v)e\l.(c)om
"You may call me ’big sister’ out loud, but after all, we’re not born of the same mother. If you had any bottom line in your heart, you wouldn’t treat me this way."
