Chapter 905: Chapter 905: Turning into a Big Stutterer_1
"Noisy?"
Lin Caisang blinked, looking in the direction of the medicinal tub where Suri was sitting.
"Your Highness Prince Mo, don’t you find it rather... exhilarating when he screams and swears like that?"
Ya Molian: "..."
What kind of perverse pleasure was this little girl seeking? Couldn’t she tell that Suri was cursing her with every word he spat out?
And yet, there she was, claiming to be thrilled by it in his presence. All he wanted at that moment was to tear Suri into pieces to vent his anger. How could there possibly be any thrill in that?
"Do you want him to shout until his throat breaks?" he asked quietly.
"How could that be possible?"
Lin Caisang laughed. Suri’s voice was in fine shape; it’s not like he hadn’t shouted like this before. When had he ever strained his throat?
Despite Suri’s corpulent frame and seemingly delicate appearance, nourished within the National Teacher’s household, even a dire illness was kept at bay with precious supplements.
At the very least, that body could endure a bit more wear and tear, couldn’t it?
"However, it might be worth a try,"
she said, her eyes brimming with keen interest.
Zhe Jue crowd: "..."
Madam, they’d barely endured his wails for half an hour before they wanted to cover their ears.
And with Suri shrieking like that, how were they supposed to sleep at night? Stuff their ears? That simply wasn’t practical. Out in the wilderness, there could be wild animals lurking about. They had to remain vigilant at all times.
"Why are you all staring at me like this?"
Seeing them look at her as if she were mad, Lin Caisang immediately asked.
"Don’t you find the journey to White Blind Mountain to be exceedingly dull? If we don’t stir up some trouble along the way, won’t it be terribly boring?"
Jiang Li glanced sideways, feeling a bit of sympathy for Suri, who sat in the wooden tub still spewing profanities. Suddenly, he felt that, hateful as the man was, Suri was also quite pitiable.
Indeed, the detestable often have their pitiable sides, and that perfectly described someone like Suri.
But none of them would contradict Lin Caisang, for indeed, their journey had been quite monotonous. Perhaps troubling Suri was the only form of entertainment they had to relieve the tedium of their trip.
...
"Miss, are you... there?"
A few days later, Xin, the steward who could no longer contain his frustration, cast aside any concern for Prince Mo, and ran to Lin Caisang’s carriage, whispering into the interior.
"Mm."
Lin Caisang responded softly.
The next moment, the curtain was lifted, and she looked outside.
"Steward Xin, what’s the matter?"
"Err."
Steward Xin had a lot he wanted to say, especially to complain. He had come to seek out Lin Caisang specifically to vent his grievances.
But catching sight of another face inside the carriage, feeling the chill in the air, his teeth began to chatter, and he didn’t know where to start with what he had intended to say.
"Well... it’s like this... Miss, you..."
"Steward Xin, what are you doing? Just speak plainly," Lin Caisang said, almost letting out an unkind laugh at his demeanor.
Was Brother Molian really that scary? He’d managed to turn Xin into a severe stutterer. After all, the man came from the National Teacher’s household, and was the National Teacher’s own steward no less.
If Brother Molian were to visit the National Teacher’s household for a short while in the future, would Xin end up scared out of his wits?
"This humble one would like to ask if you have any medicine that could sedate my master," Xin swallowed nervously, finally voicing his internal plea.
