Chapter 897: Chapter 897 Can’t Do It_1
"So noisy, he should have been allowed to rest by now."
Lin Caisang glanced at Butler Xin, then peered into the carriage before finally drawing the curtain closed and shrinking back inside.
Butler Xin also roughly understood what Lin Caisang meant.
Indeed, among their group was Prince Mo, who could kill without batting an eye. If the young master continued to make such a racket, who’s to say Prince Mo wouldn’t get impatient, raise his hand to twist, and snap off his young master’s head?
Thinking this, he no longer hesitated and went directly behind Suri, raising his hand and striking him unconscious with a chop.
"Continue for another hour, then stop for a rest."
From inside the carriage, Lin Caisang’s voice could be heard, to which Zhe Jue, the coachman, responded.
...
An hour later, it was pitch black, unable to see one’s own fingers. Since they were traveling, everyone had chosen not to stay in a town. The first night, they camped in the wilderness.
With many people, the firewood they gathered was split into several bonfires to sit by.
"Miss, would you like to come over here?"
Butler Xin, who had seen Lin Caisang spend the entire day inside Prince Mo’s carriage and now about to sit by the same bonfire as Prince Mo, lowered his voice beside her and asked.
Although they were traveling with Prince Mo this time, his lord had also instructed him before departing to avoid letting the young lady have too much contact with Prince Mo—if he could block it, he must.
"No need, it’s quite good here. Butler Xin, would you like to come and sit together?" Lin Caisang rejected his suggestion and instead asked him.
Butler Xin: "..."
To have him sit by the same bonfire as Prince Mo? He’d rather not. With that cold aura emanating from Prince Mo that could freeze someone to death, did he think his life was too long?
"No, no, miss..."
He hurriedly shook his head, still wanting to dissuade Lin Caisang.
"Butler Xin, you must understand that when the time comes I am to go with Prince Mo to White Blind Mountain to save people. If we do not start to understand each other now, once we are on White Blind Mountain, many unnecessary accidents could occur. Do you understand what I mean?"
Lin Caisang interrupted him and reminded him.
"This... I understand."
What more could Butler Xin say when Lin Caisang had made things so clear?
"Then, miss, if you need anything, just call me, I’ll be over there." He said.
"Mm, go ahead."
Lin Caisang nodded, turned around, and walked towards the bonfire where Ya Molian was.
"Miss, the lord mentioned roasting meat tonight, and also cooking some rice porridge to drink." Seeing her coming over, Zhe Jue and the others asked for her preference.
Since the group included individuals from the National Teacher’s residence as well as those sent by the emperor and other spies who were uncertain about their affiliation, openly calling Lin Caisang ’madam’ was out of the question, so everyone simply referred to her as ’miss’.
"Sounds good, I’m easy." Lin Caisang nodded.
Of course, she was easygoing; as long as there was food to eat, she was fine.
"Here, this is some dried vegetables. Add some to the rice porridge. Traveling and only eating meat without vegetables isn’t good either."
She took out a packet of dried vegetables from her small satchel and handed it to Zhe Jue.
"These vegetables can be dried and eaten too?"
Zhe Jue took them doubtfully into his hands, opened the oil paper, and was surprised to see the dried vegetables inside still looked just like the fresh ones they ate regularly, without having turned yellow at all.
