Chapter 894: Chapter 894 Moving into Prince Mo’s Mansion_1

"My lord."

Dou Qiankou watched the scene, unsure how to start a conversation with his master.

This time, his master had indeed been too hasty. If he were in Lin Caisang’s shoes, he would also have shown displeasure towards his lord.

After all, the journey to White Blind Mountain was really unsafe; one could lose their life at any moment. And if there was someone always eyeing to take her life, it would be even worse.

Sui Zijin took a deep breath, his hand inside his sleeve clenched tightly.

"Let’s go back."

What else could he do but leave?

...

A caravan of five horse-drawn carriages set out for White Blind Mountain.

Inside one carriage, Lin Caisang looked at Ya Molian, who was leaning against the carriage wall with his eyes shut, and covered him with a garment from beside her.

But as she was about to withdraw her hand, he caught it suddenly. The next moment, Ya Molian pulled hard, and she toppled toward him, falling into his embrace.

"Do you really think I can sleep?"

"What are you doing? Are you afraid the people outside won’t know about our relationship?" Lin Caisang lifted her head and glared at him.

Even though they were inside a carriage and surrounded by their own people, it still wasn’t appropriate. What if someone from the National Teacher’s household discovered them?

"So what if they know?" Ya Molian’s thin lips curled slightly.

"Sooner or later they will find out. When we return from White Blind Mountain, you’ll stay at Prince Mo’s Mansion. Let’s see what they can say or do then."

Lin Caisang: "..."

She gave a speechless glare to her peculiar neighbor, indeed at a loss for what to do with her.

"Once we’re back from White Blind Mountain, I have to return. How can I stay here all the time?"

Her mission had a time limit; it wasn’t feasible to stay in Shaohua City indefinitely. She was counting on doing more tasks.

"I’ll go back with you," Ya Molian said.

"You can go back too?"

Hearing his words, Lin Caisang was initially startled but soon shook her head.

"No, you should stay in Shaohua City. For some reason, I always feel that the poison in you, and the attitude of those people in the palace towards you, is strange."

Indeed, that was what she felt.

Before coming to Shaohua City, she hadn’t felt it, but now that she was here and had interacted with those people, the more she could sense that something was amiss.

"Have you discovered anything lately?" she asked Ya Molian.

"The antidote isn’t owned by my father, the Emperor. Does that count as a discovery?" Ya Molian said.

"What?"

Lin Caisang was stunned for a moment, not immediately grasping the implication of his words.

When she finally understood, her eyes sharpened, and she moved away from his embrace to sit beside him, looking at him seriously.

"You mean, the antidote for the poison in you is not actually possessed by the Emperor?"

"Yes."

Ya Molian nodded.

"Who could it be then? A poison master raised by the Emperor?" Lin Caisang speculated.

"It shouldn’t be."

Ya Molian shook his head, indicating it wasn’t as she had guessed.

"There’s talk from the palace that the Emperor had a secret meeting with someone a few days ago. But no one knows who it was. That day, he dismissed everyone from his sleeping quarters, not even leaving a shadow guard behind."

He explained.

"That secretive?" Lin Caisang was surprised.

For an Emperor to meet someone without any attendants was unthinkable.

If the person were merely an extraordinary poison master, there would be no need for such secrecy. This could only mean that the person’s status was even higher than the Emperor’s, so the Emperor was following that person’s customs.
