Chapter 888: Chapter 888: Don’t Ask What You Shouldn’t - Part 1
"Master, stop your work for a moment; this customer here wants to place a custom order. Come take a look first,"
the woman beckoned to the shirtless man, asking him to come over.
The man glanced at Lin Caisang standing beside the woman, wiped the sweat from his face, dipped the iron sheet he was holding into a pool of water, and then placed it back into the smelting furnace before donning a simple garment and walking over.
"Miss, what would you like to forge?" he asked.
Lin Caisang reached into her small shoulder bag, took out the drawing she had prepared in her Golden Bead space, spread it out, and handed it to the man.
"This, you can take a look first. If it can’t be made, I won’t insist,"
"This..."
The man suddenly snatched the drawing from Lin Caisang’s hand, took it into his, and examined it closely.
He slowly went through each sheet of paper, occasionally glancing up at Lin Caisang while studying the drawings.
"Miss, forgive my bluntness, but what you’ve drawn here is rather peculiar. It hardly seems like metalwork. Are there other materials that need to be added? Miss, did you draw these yourself?"
he asked.
"You don’t need to worry about the other materials; if you can do it, I’ll provide everything you need," Lin Caisang promised.
With just a glance, she could tell the blacksmith was very interested in her drawings, but interest didn’t necessarily mean he could create it; this she had to clarify.
"Give me five days; I should be able to make it," the blacksmith said.
From the young lady’s drawings, the item appeared to be extremely refined, more like a mechanism or a hidden weapon than simple metalwork.
However, even if it were a mechanism or a hidden weapon, he was confident he could fulfill her request; it would just take some time. He had given a tight deadline of five days.
"Good."
Lin Caisang didn’t beat around the bush and nodded her agreement.
As long as he could make it, the number of days didn’t matter...
She had chosen not to have the item made in Shaohua City because it was more convenient to do so in Yejun, even if she later went to White Blind Mountain, she could still directly reach this place from her Golden Bead space and retrieve the item.
"There’s one more thing; I do not wish for a second piece of what you make for me to exist. Boss, can you ensure this?" she asked intently, looking at the blacksmith.
"Naturally, that can be guaranteed," the blacksmith said.
"Rest assured, miss. There’s no shortage of people who place custom orders with me. My work is always confidential, and I won’t spoil my own business. Once your item leaves my shop, no one will know it was made here."
"Mhm."
Lin Caisang finally felt reassured and nodded her head.
After paying the deposit and handing over the White Spider silk to the blacksmith, she turned and left.
"Master, what exactly did the young lady ask you to make? She didn’t even haggle over the price; she’s quite generous," the woman asked the man once Lin Caisang had left.
The man merely glanced at her, retrieved a box, placed the White Spider silk that Lin Caisang gave him inside it, and locked it away before looking up at the woman.
"Don’t ask about things you shouldn’t, and don’t you dare talk about today’s business outside, understand?" he cautioned.
"Master, what kind of talk is that? When have I ever spoken to outsiders? My lips are sealed much tighter than yours," the woman retorted, not pleased with her husband’s words.
