Chapter 804: Chapter 804: Which batch is this?_1

"It’s not anything bad, just, how should I put it, sometimes, when some criminals who are clearly guilty of heinous crimes refuse to confess, sprinkling some White Octopus Powder on them might, perhaps, have a little unexpected effect."

Lin Caisang said.

Sui Ziyou immediately caught on.

"Does the White Octopus Powder cause unbearable pain when sprinkled on the body?" Indeed, she thought, Suri’s pain was too abnormal; it felt as if that large wooden tub would fall apart if it were jostled one more time.

"Sister-in-law, you’re impressive."

She gave Lin Caisang a thumbs-up.

"But why haven’t I heard of White Octopus Powder before?" she asked.

"I’ve just developed it. It’s the first time I’m using it; how could you have possibly heard about it?" Lin Caisang said.

Sui Ziyou: "..."

So it was a new creation, which meant that even if Suyang wanted to investigate, he wouldn’t find anything. With that in mind, she felt at ease.

"I was afraid Suyang might uncover something," she said.

"What could he find out? Just look at him; right now, he practically sees me as a deity. I’m the living Bodhisattva who can save his son; would he dare to investigate me now?"

Lin Caisang said with a chuckle.

Even if Suyang wanted to investigate, by the time he realized what was happening and actually started looking into it, Suri’s illness would have already been cured. By then, she would have left long ago, and Suyang wouldn’t be able to uncover anything at all.

"That’s true."

Sui Ziyou also nodded in agreement.

...

That night, all was quiet in Prince Mo’s Mansion.

But was it truly quiet? In one courtyard, a man swung his blade and brought down a cloaked figure, and on the ground lay more bodies, each covered in black cloth from head to toe, clothed in black.

"Zhe Jue, how many waves has it been?"

Zhen Wu, holding a bloodstained sword, approached Zhe Jue and asked.

Ever since their lord returned home, groups of people had been treating Prince Mo’s Mansion as if it was an open market, casually strolling around every night.

Of course, they treated these intruders as if they were chopping cucumbers, and it seemed like there was no end to them.

"I’ve forgotten."

Zhe Jue gave a two-word reply.

Of course, as the lord’s bodyguard, he certainly knew which wave of attackers this was.

But regarding these people, he was truly speechless; knowing full well it was a trap, that there was no return, and yet they still happily dove headfirst into Prince Mo’s Mansion.

"It seems they really think our lord has lost his temper," said Zhen Wu.

"Whether or not the lord has lost his temper, I don’t know, but I do know, these people are utterly useless!" Zhe Jue declared.

Otherwise, how could they be chopped down like cucumbers? At the very least, they should have held their ground for a few rounds of combat. These people always left him with an indescribable feeling.

"Come on, let’s go to the lord’s place."

He glanced at Zhen Wu, and the two made their way toward one of the rooms in the courtyard.

Yet, someone had already overtaken them, rushing ahead to their destination.

"Jiang Zuo, what are you doing? Running so fast, is there a cat chasing you?" Zhen Wu called out.

Hearing this, Jiang Zuo stopped in his tracks, turned around, and glared at them, "It’s you guys who are the damn mice!"

He had urgent news to report, which was why he was in such a hurry. Was there a need for such comments? What if he had long legs? Did that trouble them in any way that they had to be so mouthy?

Upon hearing his retort, the two men exchanged looks and shrugged.
