Chapter 769: Chapter 769: Let Him Learn a Lesson

"Second Prince, your injuries are quite serious. If not properly recuperated, there’s a chance you may develop a limp. Hence, you absolutely must remember not to move in these first few days. All of your needs should be attended to by the palace maids or guards,"

Lin Caisang advised, looking at the Second Prince.

"Even though it might be a somewhat embarrassing for you, as a prince, to bear such difficulty for the sake of restoring your limbs to sound health, this is the only way. Your body will undoubtedly be in excruciating pain. I have prepared an analgesic soup for you, just in case. If it becomes unbearable, the Imperial Doctor may have to use silver needles to numb your senses as a last resort."

"I understand."

The Second Prince gritted his teeth, his voice weak and strained.

"As long as you understand," Lin Caisang nodded approvingly.

After all, he was royalty, he should have the resolve. She wasn’t too worried.

However...

"Elder Princess, it’s best that the Second Prince doesn’t move these few days. What I mean is, it would be good to leave some people here to care for him until the pain in his leg subsides, and then take him back to Jian’an City to recuperate."

"Mmm, I have discussed this with the Emperor. He will return to the palace the day after tomorrow. In the meantime, I will take care of Xiao’er," the Elder Princess nodded, responding to her suggestion.

With this, she would be able to see her daughter frequently.

"Miss Lin, have you been up all night? Your complexion doesn’t look too good. Haven’t you rested well?"

At her question, Lin Caisang stared blankly for a moment then chuckled lightly.

"I was just a bit busy last night, it’s nothing to worry about," she replied.

How would she know that she could trigger a hidden mission? It was as if they were trying to kill her.

"Now that the Second Prince is stable, may I check your pulse, Elder Princess, and see how your body has been recovering recently?" She asked the Elder Princess.

"All right."

The Elder Princess responded, then turned to look at the Second Prince.

"Xiao’er, you rest well and mustn’t move about recklessly."

She then followed Lin Caisang to one corner of the tent.

The Second Prince: "....."

Why did he feel as though he had been abandoned by his aunt who clearly cared more for Miss Lin and seemed to have left him in second place?

However...fine, if Miss Lin was going to diagnose his aunt’s pulse, he shouldn’t be overly petty.

In no time at all, two bowls of medicine were served to the Second Prince. His brother personally sat by the bed to feed the troublesome Second Prince, and just as the Emperor entered, the Imperial Doctor arrived too.

As Lin Caisang had anticipated, it was indeed Imperial Doctor Gu, the one she had previously given the prescription to. She then went over the Second Prince’s injuries and attendant prohibitions with him.

"Elder Mr. Gu, I’m leaving the Second Prince in your care now. I know you can turn these soup concoctions into pills, but the effects of the pills aren’t as good as the soups. It’d be best for the Second Prince to continue with the soups," she suggested.

Hopefully, this would instill some sense into him.

She added this thought silently in her mind.

"Yes, I will follow Miss Lin’s instructions."

Imperial Doctor Gu had the utmost respect for Lin Caisang’s medical knowledge, and would of course do as she requested.

"In that case, I will take my leave first. I have another patient awaiting treatment at my place." After saying this, Lin Caisang prepared to depart.

However, just as she was about to leave, she remembered something and turned back to the Elder Princess.

"I almost forgot. Elder Princess, here are the herbal-infused fruit preserves I made especially for you, just like the ones from last time. You can have them all by yourself."

She took out four bamboo cannisters from her bag and placed them on the table.
