Chapter 555: Chapter 555 - Too Mysterious

"So, General Zhi is here too."

"Yes, Miss Lin, today is the day when my wife needs her stitches removed. I appreciate all your hard work during these past few days. Taking advantage of the opportunity to visit the Elder Princess today, I hope you could remove the stitches on my wife’s face to spare you another trip."

Zhi Lingyang, having seen her, stood up and spoke courteously.

The truth was, the Elder Princess had sent someone yesterday to relay her wish for him to bring Jin An’an over to her mansion today.

He couldn’t possibly not understand the Elder Princess’s intentions. Even though he wished to keep Lin Caisang around for a few more days, he was bound to obey the Elder Princess’s command and couldn’t resist.

"That’s very convenient." Lin Caisang gave a light laugh.

"Elder Princess, could you please wait a moment? I’ll remove the stitches on Senior Madam Zhi’s face first."

"There’s no rush, take your time, Miss Lin."

The Elder Princess held a teacup in her hand and looked at Lin Caisang with a smile.

Lin Caisang quickly stripped off the bandages wrapped around Jin An’an’s face. Seeing the stitches on Jin An’an’s face, Zhi Lingyang frowned.

Seeing the stitches, he couldn’t help but imagine Lin Caisang painstakingly sewing up his wife’s face. It was terrifying to think about it, and he wondered how Lin Caisang had mustered up the courage to do it.

Lin Caisang took out her scissors and cut each stitch. Then she asked Jin An’an to close her eyes and applied an unknown medicine to the wound.

A few moments later, she swiftly pulled out each stitch.

"An’an, did it hurt?"

As soon as Lin Caisang stepped away, Zhi Lingyang quickly rushed over to help Jin An’an who had her eyes closed.

Just thinking about the removal of the stitches from the flesh was painful. However, when Jin An’an heard her husband’s voice, she opened her eyes in surprise, looked at him, and then at Lin Caisang, who had already stepped back.

"Is it done already?"

Zhi Lingyang: "..."

He looked perplexed at Lin Caisang, who was putting away the medicine bottle and the tools into her small bag.

"Miss Lin, how could my wife’s scar be numb?"

Looking back, he didn’t see any signs of pain on Jin An’an’s face, not even a groan.

"I used a medication, so naturally it wouldn’t hurt." Lin Caisang raised her eyes, glanced at him, and explained.

She then pulled out two boxes of scar removal cream from her bag and handed it to Zhi Lingyang.

"Senior Madam Zhi’s facial wound can be treated with these two boxes of cream. If that’s not enough, you can buy more from my shop. You should know where it is, right, General Zhi?"

"Uh."

Zhi Lingyang was taken aback by her words, and his face turned red.

He had been keeping a close eye on Lin Caisang’s whereabouts these past few days in order to be kept informed about Jin An’an’s condition. He indeed arranged for people to follow Lin Caisang, but in the end they lost her track. Lin Caisang was indeed as mysterious as rumors said.

"Miss Lin, I’ve been too concerned about my wife, and I apologize if I’ve overstepped these past few days. I ask for your forgiveness."

"Whether you ask for forgiveness or not doesn’t matter."

Lin Caisang shook her head, not at all perturbed by recent events. No matter how many people attempted to follow her, they’ve never succeeded.

"But, I do hope that General Zhi wouldn’t adopt this same impetuous demeanor on the battlefield, which could lead to both personal and national mistakes."

Pleasantries were off the table when crossed by her. According to Zhi Lingyang’s temperament, there’s a likelihood in the future he could make a grave error for the sake of Jin An’an. Lin Caisang was assured she hadn’t mistaken about this.
