Chapter 2202: Chapter 2202: Bring it on for real!

He flicked his sleeve at the guard, then changed into his princely official attire before going to meet the Chief Steward, and together they entered the palace.

And who is the Chief Steward?

An old man who has served by Emperor Ziyan’s side for so many years, he is of course someone adept at reading the room.

Knowing the Emperor summoned Yin Lvqing to the palace and for what matter, he certainly wouldn’t ruffle the Emperor’s feathers. Instead, he prefaced Yin Lvqing beforehand, letting him consider his excuses along the way.

Thus, all along the way, no matter how Yin Lvqing tried to fish for information through indirect questions about the Emperor’s reasons for summoning him, the Chief Steward simply kept his mouth shut.

But it was precisely because of this that Yin Lvqing, who always thinks several steps ahead, felt a sense of wariness in his heart.

However, no matter what he conjured up, he could never have imagined that Emperor Ziyan would actually pin the blame of the imperial tomb’s destruction and the explosion of the phoenix vein on him.

After arriving at the Imperial Study, the oppressive aura belonging to Emperor Ziyan suddenly weighed down on Yin Lvqing.

"Kneel!"

Following Emperor Ziyan’s stern command, he clenched his teeth and knelt down.

"Father, Your Majesty..."

What’s going on? At this moment, Yin Lvqing was completely confused, as clueless as a monk baffled by a riddle.

He had no idea about Emperor Ziyan’s astute guessing ability which had already run through acts like stealing the Holy Son Flower, pilfering treasures from underneath the Western Underground Palace, and the explosion of the phoenix vein.

And he had deftly pinned them all on his son, who is known for scheming and cunning.

"Yin Lvqing, speak, why did you do such things?" demanded Emperor Ziyan.

Hearing his father’s furious words, although Yin Lvqing had no idea what had happened, he couldn’t forget his numerous clandestine deeds.

His heart skipped a beat, and inwardly he uttered an ominous premonition.

He had no clue which of his deeds had been discovered by Emperor Ziyan, at this moment, he had no idea what to say.

"Father, this son does not know where he has displeased Your Majesty, please enlighten me," he said, grinding his teeth and looking up at Emperor Ziyan.

Upon hearing his words, Emperor Ziyan was so infuriated that he almost found it laughable.

So it seems that the crimes his son committed were not just confined to destroying the imperial mausoleum and sabotaging the cultivation of the demonic body which he had devoted all his efforts to, right?

"Do you need me to spell out what you’ve done? Confess the truth to me now!" he roared in anger.

"I really don’t know what has upset Your Majesty. What is there for me to confess?"

Yin Lvqing dared not admit to anything he had done; after all, the deeds he was involved in were too numerous to give a clear account of.

Besides, he didn’t even know which of his actions had been uncovered by Emperor Ziyan.

Spouting recklessly at this time would only put himself in deeper trouble.

"Father, have you been listening to some nonsense? I have always been well-behaved and have never done anything wrong," he said.

"You—"

Emperor Ziyan was nearly driven to rage by the innocent act put on by Yin Lvqing.

Was he truly ignorant? Didn’t he know that his son was up to no good on a regular basis? Did he have to list everything before his son would admit to it?

Well-behaved?

If he were a well-behaved person, then there would be no such thing as misbehavior in this world.

"Yin Lvqing, do you honestly think that I am unaware of your doings? Even now, you dare to be so obstinate before me!"

He shouted angrily at Yin Lvqing, rebuking him.

"Your Majesty, I truly..."
