Chapter 1967: Almost Died of Anger

Chapter 1967: Chapter 1967: Almost Died of Anger

"How so, you wish to betray your family head and go to the side of that unfilial son?"

He asked in a cold voice.

Upon hearing his words, the guard’s back instantly tensed up, and he hurriedly shook his head.

"Family Head, please forgive my imprudent words."

Though his lips said thus, he couldn’t help but mutter in his heart: Isn’t it just a father and son, after all? That is the Eldest Young Master. How did speaking a word for the Eldest Young Master become an act of betrayal against the family head?

This was truly like a huge black pot falling from the sky, landing squarely on his back, almost enough to knock him out cold.

"Knowing your place now is good, get out!" Yue Chong said furiously.

He did not wish to speak thus to his subordinate, but his heart truly was filled with rage.

His own son, instead of drawing close to him, his father, incessantly called an outsider ’sister.’ How could he not be infuriated?

When he had first found Yue Chushui, he had been able to comprehend his son’s dependence on Lin Caisang.

After all, it was Lin Caisang who had saved his son. One must repay a debt of gratitude. Calling her ’sister’ a few extra times could be excused.

But how long has it been?

A whole year had passed, and his son, who had been found a year ago, was still fixated on Lin Caisang and disregarded his father, who had cared for him throughout the year.

The more he thought about it, the more his heart ached terribly; he wished he could drive Lin Caisang and her party out right now!

However, Old Madam Yue, his mother, was looking on. If he so much as reprimanded Yue Chushui loudly, she would send someone over to lecture him, let alone his wish to drive them away.

Moreover, no matter what, Yue Chushui was his son, the Eldest Young Master of the Yue Clan; there really was no reason to drive him out.

Upon hearing his words, the guard expressed his departure and retreated, leaving Yue Chong alone in the study, brooding irritably and contemplating how to discipline this unfilial son.

After a while, he looked out to see it was getting late, then left the study to go to his own courtyard, changed into a clean set of clothes, and headed for Qiushui Pavilion.

...

Outside Qiushui Pavilion, Yue Chong was about to enter with Luo Mianyi when they saw Old Madam Yue leading Yue Chushui along with Sui Zimo, Lin Caisang, and their party from another side.

"Brother Chong..."

Luo Mianyi originally took pride in the fact that Yue Chong had not gone to Yue Chushui’s courtyard to invite Sui Zimo and the others, considering it a complete snub.

But her heart had hardly settled into self-satisfaction when she saw Old Madam Yue, and her complexion immediately darkened.

Glancing sideways, she looked at Yue Chong beside her and softly called out.

Naturally, Yue Chong also saw his mother leading Sui Zimo and the others over. How could his face show any good color? The anger was enough to kill him.

He had assumed his mother was merely visiting Yue Chushui’s courtyard but had not expected her to personally go there and bring them over, publicly embarrassing her own son.

"Mother, why have you come with Chushui?"

He walked briskly over, not even glancing at Sui Zimo, Lin Caisang, or Lin Changhong, and asked Old Madam Yue.

Old Madam Yue had been in conversation with her grandson and Lin Changhong; hearing her son’s voice, her expression turned cold, and she glanced briefly at Yue Chong.

"Chushui is still young. When there are guests in his courtyard, it’s naturally up to us, the elders of the Yue Family, to welcome them. It also lets everyone know the decorum of our Yue Family," she said.
