Chapter 1959: Chapter 1959: Madam, Watch Your Words!
"Sangsang, did that Chushui guy just not see me?"
He asked somberly.
Ever since he had called out to him outside, Yue Chushui had outright ignored him thereafter, not even calling him by name. What was that all about?
Was he invisible?
"What should he look at you for?" Lin Caisang turned her head to look at him and asked.
Lin Changhong: "..."
How was he supposed to respond to that question?
...
Many masters in the Yue Clan had received messages from their servants, having witnessed Lin Caisang and her companions entering Yue Chushui’s courtyard.
Among these messengers, Luo Mianyi’s servant was the quickest.
"What? Those people have come?"
Upon hearing the servant’s report, Luo Mianyi nearly crushed her silver teeth in frustration.
She had hoped that those people would not come, yet they had arrived, and so swiftly that it had caught her off guard.
"Where have they gone? Which courtyard has the household head placed them in?"
"Madam, the Eldest Young Master personally received them. They have all gone to the Eldest Young Master’s courtyard. Perhaps the household head hasn’t been informed yet," the servant said to Luo Mianyi.
The people on the household head’s side weren’t as attentive to the Eldest Young Master as those on their side, so naturally, they wouldn’t receive the news that quickly.
And since the guests were the Eldest Young Master’s own, Yue Chushui, as the Eldest Young Master of the Yue Clan, naturally had the right to entertain guests in his own courtyard.
"They were received by Yue Chushui?"
After hearing this, Luo Mianyi was rather surprised.
Yue Chushui didn’t even have a personal servant to attend him within the Yue Clan. How could he have known Lin Caisang and the others were outside? Could it be that they had barged into the Yue Clan?
Or could it be that someone had secretly ignored her warnings and passed on the news of Lin Caisang’s arrival to Yue Chushui?
"Who told Yue Chushui?"
Who was so audacious to go against her wishes in such a brazen way?
"It was a servant from the Old Madam’s side. The nanny attending to the emperor’s son was on her way to the farmstead when she ran into those newly arrived guests and reported to the Eldest Young Master’s courtyard," the servant answered truthfully.
They had been vigilant against anyone informing Yue Chushui about the visitors’ arrival.
But that was the Old Madam’s servant. Even if they wanted to intercept her, they wouldn’t dare to.
Who would dare to offend a person from the Old Madam’s side?
"Once again, it’s that decrepit old hag!"
When Luo Mianyi found out that it was the Old Madam who had foiled her plans, rage lodged in her throat, nearly choking her with anger.
In the past, she had secretly poisoned Yue Chushui and committed many acts against him, but none had succeeded; Yue Chushui was still leading a tranquil life, even returning unscathed from his training with the people from Yuzun Academy.
Thinking about it, this Yue Chushui was really fortunate; it seemed impossible to get rid of him.
Of course, she was well aware that the decrepit Old Madam Yue must have had a hand in this.
Otherwise, how could that little Yue Chushui have managed to survive?
"Madam, you should speak with caution!"
The servant, hearing her words, turned pale and quickly cautioned her.
In the Yue Clan, she truly was the first to so blatantly insult the Old Madam.
She wasn’t worried about the Old Madam’s confidants overhearing and reporting her, was she? That was the Old Madam, after all; how many in the Yue Clan were her confidants? One careless word could easily offend the Old Madam.
