The Herbal Scents of Farm Life
Chapter 1895: Is it about being ruthless, or about being ruthless?

Chapter 1895: Chapter 1895: Is it about being ruthless, or about being ruthless?

"Wait."

Lin Caisang, with a mouthful of food, lifted her greasy hand and looked at him.

"Hmm?"

Sui Zimo turned around, raising an eyebrow at her.

"It’s nothing."

Lin Caisang shook her head.

"I just wanted to ask, should I be ruthless or extremely ruthless later?" she asked.

The dirty deeds the Emperor of Wei had in mind were tasked to Eunuch Gui. Naturally, they knew every detail. So, she had to discuss with her dearest Brother Molian how to deal with the Emperor of Wei, that shameless thing!

"Just don’t kill him," Sui Zimo gave her a five-word reply.

If he died, it would be too lenient. A person like that must not die but live to suffer, to quell the fury in her heart!

"Alright, I got it."

Lin Caisang nodded, feeling reassured.

Although, to be honest, she had already known what to do; those people like the Emperor of Wei... No, that thing wasn’t even human, naturally, she didn’t need to be polite toward him.

"Be good and wait for me to come back."

Sui Zimo looked at her tenderly, then turned and left.

...

In the front yard of Prince Mo’s Mansion, everything was as usual. The ministers did what they came to do, eat and drink.

Meanwhile, Sui Zimo changed into a fresh set of clothes and came out, then went about toasting with the ministers, appearing quite jovial and lacking his usual cold demeanor.

Watching the man who utterly disregarded him, the Emperor felt a rage he could not vent.

"Your Majesty..."

Eunuch Gui, at his side, saw the Emperor emanating cold fury and quietly reminded him.

"Return to the palace."

The Emperor turned to look at Eunuch Gui and spoke with pointed meaning.

His face was already shamed before them; the looks he received from the ministers had lost any resemblance of respect.

But he didn’t care about all that. Right now, all he wanted was for Sui Zimo to face retribution. He was eager to see the expression on Sui Zimo’s face when he realized that the bride he had just married would become his, the Emperor’s, woman the next moment.

Just the thought of Sui Zimo cursing him in agony, yet powerless to do anything about it, brought him delight.

"Yes."

Eunuch Gui quietly affirmed.

Without announcing to everyone, he discreetly led the Emperor away.

The few ministers who had been keeping an eye on the Emperor saw him leave without a word. Thinking that the Emperor and Prince Mo didn’t get along, they said nothing.

They continued to eat and drink as if the Emperor had never been there.

After all, a good portion of the Wei State’s court affairs was in Prince Lin’s hands, with a greater part in Prince Mo’s.

As for the Emperor, he was simply a figurehead. They only needed to maintain superficial etiquette around him; there was no real need to treat him with sincerity or respect. Indeed, they didn’t wish to have such a disgraceful Emperor.

...

In the back courtyard, within Lin Caisang’s bridal chamber.

With the guards of Prince Mo’s Mansion turning a blind eye, the Emperor finally snuck into the bridal chamber led by Eunuch Gui, like a thief... and then...

"Ah!"

A scream. Before the Emperor could lay a hand on Lin Caisang, the new bride, he was kicked to the ground and spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Oh my, isn’t this the Emperor of Wei? What’s the matter, given up being an Emperor to become a thief?"

Lin Caisang’s voice resounded beside the Emperor’s ear. Clutching his chest, the Emperor painfully watched the radiant woman in the red wedding dress before him.

"You... you are the Commandery Princess of Liang Kingdom?"
