Chapter 1890: Chapter 1890: The Relationship is Quite Good
Not long after, a few humanoid beasts were brought before Lin Caisang, who knelt down and greeted her when they saw her.
"Stand up, all of you."
Lin Caisang watched as they rose to their feet before she began to speak.
"How long have you been serving beside the lady?" she asked.
"For over a decade."
One of them answered.
She had been with the lady the longest, also for over a decade, which was since the lady married the ruler; she had been by her side.
"Over a decade, huh?"
Lin Caisang’s face was smiling as she looked at that person.
"Then you must know your lady very well, right?"
"Yes... Yes."
At first, that person didn’t dare to answer, but after thinking, knowing that this girl was sent by the ruler’s side, they didn’t dare to hide anything anymore and responded.
"I heard that the ruler’s wife has a cousin who came over a few days ago?" Lin Caisang asked her.
"Right."
The person responded.
They were all aware of the ruler’s wife’s cousin.
The relationship between the ruler’s wife and that man was extremely close, so much so that often during conversations, she would have the servants around her withdraw, leaving only the two of them alone.
"The lady treats Young Master Xiang very well. Their relationship is quite good, and Young Master Xiang often comes to visit the lady."
"Very well? How well exactly? Even better than the lady is with the ruler?" Lin Caisang further inquired.
"Erm."
The question caught the person off guard.
How could they speak such words? Better than the ruler himself? They would dare say that, but would the ruler’s wife approve?
But at least when the ruler was with his wife, he wouldn’t dismiss all the servants. He’d always keep a few around to attend to them.
However, when the ruler’s wife’s cousin arrived, it was different.
Perhaps the ruler’s wife’s cousin was accustomed to taking care of himself, or maybe when siblings reunited, what they had to say wasn’t meant for others to hear?
That remained unknown.
But no matter what, that was the ruler’s wife, and there were some things they simply couldn’t and shouldn’t say.
"Detail how ’well’ exactly, tell me."
Lin Caisang propped her chin with one hand as she pressed the servant for answers.
"Rest assured, whatever you say to me, I will never tell the ruler’s wife. Our conversation today, in the future, as if I’ve never heard of it.
If you don’t speak the truth in front of this young lady today, what I may say in front of the ruler is beyond your predictions. Perhaps I would suggest to the ruler to have all of you... um, you understand, right?"
She threatened the terrified servants, making it clear that she wanted to hear the truth, not flattering words about the ruler’s wife just to appease her.
The servants were frightened by her words and kept affirming.
...
Inside Prince Mo’s Mansion.
The two of them returned from the Illusion Continent and headed back to their bridal chamber, where they saw people busy arranging various items.
"Sang’er, what are you thinking about?" Sui Zimo asked, looking at her.
"Brother Molian, do you think the illness of the ruler’s wife could be related to her cousin?" Lin Caisang lifted her head to ask her Brother Molian.
After hearing what the servants attending to the ruler’s wife had said, there must be some unclear relationship between the ruler’s wife and her cousin. Otherwise, why would the ruler’s wife always have the attendants leave every time her cousin came over?
